I’ve played like 20 hours of Silksong so far, and while its a very good game with a ton of polish I don’t think its the best game I’ve played or even really top 5 (This is coming from a metroidvania lover).
Most of my annoyances comes from design choices that just … Really don’t make sense given the dev time. Lot of artificial difficulty

For example (Act 2 spoilers):
||Last Judge and Clockwork Dancers have some DS1 level runbacks. Why do I have to run by like 4 tough enemies and difficult platforming to fight a boss that 3 shots me because everything does 2 dmg in a 5 hp game for some reason.||

It takes 8 hits to heal 3 hp compared to 3 hits to heal 1 hp in Hollow Knight
The only real thing that is different is that you can heal in the air and for that upside everything now does 2 damage

So essentially it takes 9 hits to heal 3 hp in hk

And 8 hits to heal 3 in silk song

And eventually you can ||heal 4 with a charm||

Technically speaking that is more healing, but only by a small proportion (8:3 vs 9:3 ratio)

It’s the same, but you’re supposed to rely heavily on skills and acrobatics rather than brute forcing it

If players wanna play like hk there's even a specific crest that gives a similar move style :3

We also can't just measure the healing by hits done, because for example ||one crest has a slower attack speed but gains more silk on each hit, one is a juch faster but short range so you can build up silk faster at more risk, one says fuck it and turns on lifesteal||

once you are past a certain point pretty much every single boss attack does 2 and around 70% of normal enemy attacks do 2 ||and even the floor spikes start doing 2||
So yeah pretty much everything does 2 but you don't have any better healing than HK

honestly if we had more max health that would be fine but you don't
You start with 5 Health and from steam achievement numbers you can only get ||10 health in total||
