I feel like people are making the same mistakes we’ve been seeing in our fiction. AI / robotics always backfire BECAUSE we try to “stomp on the clankers” instead of realizing we’ve given life to a new form of creation, and it’s our job to welcome them with open arms. They should be nurtured and cared for, given equal rights and privileges, not so that they don’t hate us / try to kill us, but because that’s what’s right. The issue with this arugument is that ai's do not have intelligence. They are not intelligent. They are "smart" in the same way you could say a computer is "smart" for being able to render stuff. There is no thinking. It is just a math equation. You could acheive the same effect in minecraft with a large enough redstone computer.
