Honestly, that's largely due to the effect it may have, you move a chair, and the chair will end up in a different position than it was, meaning people would interact with it differently and every future interaction with that chair by normal people would put that chair in a different position than before, which may result in a bunch of changes, like being the first thing grabbed in a fight, or someone tripping on it, or even just a completely different ending for that chair because it's not following the original timeline

it largely depends on how far the past of the event that happened though, so doing something minor like that wouldn't change anything major even in like 10 years, the longer in the past you'd go the more effective it would be in changing that future because of how many potential interactions that exist between the future and the past

Covid isn't an instant death out of nowhere, it takes weeks to kill you (assuming it ever kills you, which for the vast majority of people it doesn't)
