It is NOT just a cone.
First of all, by the framing of the photo, it would be made into the subject. Yet, this is a landscape photo that does not nessiarly require a singular subject beyond the cumuliative picture. However, the cone is nonetheless, still present as if defying the nature of the photo. This comes across excellently as the cone is blurry as if it was in a hurry to be placed there to prevent the piece to be cohesive.
Second, the cone's color is heavily symbolic. Orange is the color of caution, excitement, and control. These three may not seem to have much in common but when put with the rest of the piece, a greater understanding can be formed. Look at how the cone's orange color contrasts the softer greens and blues of the nature piece. It is in absoulte rebuke of the nature. This cone is not just a cone but an affront to nature by humanity who fears nature.
Third, the idea of the cone, the solitary cone brings up a lot of questions as to why it was placed there to begin with. A fool would believe it to be a marking for drivers to slow down along the cliff. Another fool may believe the cone is there to block nature, to deny it to any passerbys. The true answer is unknowanble beyond whoever was enlightened to place the object in such a location.
Fourth, the taking of the photo implies that this cone was not meant to the be the subject and seemingly snuck up on the frame. This could be interpreted as the looming threat of humanities expansion into nature and the consequences of such an act.
