im coming back from a long while of not playing but dang is it fun. even the professions are enjoyable. theres something calming about being able to just stock up to heck and back on materials before crafting it all down

ive seen a lot of "hah the professions are such a waste/theyre so annoying" but they level up so fast. i went from like level 1 fishing and cooking and farming to like level 45 fishing and level 30 farming and cooking in like a day

it just feels like wasted potential. a cool system locked behind a tedious grind, especially when wynn is generally very good about grinding.
profs also have a lot of other annoyances about them, like jank in the crafting UI to the tedium of obtaining specific ingredients. you'll rarely naturally obtain ingreds good enough to make something that outclasses normal items, and at some level ranges you just kind of cant

crafted items typically let you go much more extreme in stats than your average items, but they still cant always match normal items. the most obvious thing is major ids, crafteds cant receive them at all
