but you won't be able to progress further down the tree if you choose abilities from multiple archetypes

I would focus on 2 archetypes at the maximum, and they shouldn't be at opposite sides of the tree from each other

because usually archetypes that are on opposite sides are the most different from each other

get movement abilities
if you didn't like your tree
just reset it and make it how you want

most importantly try to pick mana costs
because you lack mana in progressions without a proper build so that would help a lot
