better gear can either be found from killing mobs, looting chest from caves or on land, doing dungeons and turning in tokens for gear, quests, or famously from the trade market

To gain emeralds and levels quickly, the best way is to complete quests. To get better gear, complete caves or kill lots of mobs. In your content book, caves have the orange symbol. You can have the caves and quests sorted by level so that you can complete them around the level you are to continue getting good gear and experience.

for me it's mainly a grievance when it's a quest i just want to get over with. in this example the lift/hermit/upper mesa quest

you don't need to do the lift quest to get up there, there's a spot off east where you can jump onto the islands

but the hermit kicking you off the bridge just because you're close and my premonition that i'd get annoyed without them made me begrudgingly start the quest

which all it is, is a long bloody fetchquest

iono give a damn what they're sayin, i just want lift access so i can do my harvest-miniquest and move on, i've got 11others in queue

or the other example which made me nearly tear my head off; the quicksand pit. falling down there causes an npc to chuck dialogue at you for what feels like a minute, and even way after having left the underground area, they kept talking to me and forcing me into both a slow state where i can't attack, but also to hold down shift to get rid of the dialogue. tl;dr i've my grievances with the dialogue system

yeano right now my other grievance is how the "twain's arc" skill of the archer is malfunctioning. it's supposed to functionally replace the bows main attack with a special thing when shifting, but if you hold down attack - or just click too early - it fires a normal arrow. which is fine, aside from the fact that twain's requires focus, which is gained from hitting enemies without missing... something that becomes even more difficult given that twain's fires in a straight line, but the main attack arcs like a normal arrow, so no matter how you aim you'll miss

but also giving the tools such low durability, and the levels such high exp requirements, that you need go repair them multiple times during a grind

hey! you must've noticed that the server has been slightly laggier than usual, mainly from reaching 20000 ping during any boss fight. we are implementing EU servers but havent told anyone, we just like to see players suffer trying to troubleshoot their own internet.

you can check for your elemental damage bonuses from gear and put whatever element is boosted the most

but really, you dont need powders aside from endgame optimization. you can just kinda slap whatever low tier powders onto a weapon and free damage is free damage, but you dont need to think about it that hard

also the base effect of powders on armor is useless, elemental defense does 99% not matter. the only reason why you put powders on armor is to activate the powder specials that happen when an item has 2 t4+ powders of the same type, which arent something you really need to care about aside from endgame
