Basically, the Scintillation completely replaces the Forgery

It's still a rip in spacetime, but players can enter it to a void of billions of fragmented pieces of reality

Gameplay-wise, the pieces of reality are challenges in the tile-based map, and players basically travel around the map via starbridges, which make up the mazelike structure of the entire gamemode

Okay I need to figure out how to explain this properly because there's a whole bunch of stuff asides from just starting the challenge

Okay I'll just explain the map itself

The entire labyrinth by itself is more like a collection of separate rooms that players tp between, because otherwise the entire thing will be too big to fit in a single part of the map

The whole gimmick of this compared to other multiplayer modes is that this entire gamemode directly benefits from proper communication from party members, because a lot of things in the labyrinth kinda requires that

And the map is basically players walking out in a void of like a billion twinkling bright (star)slices in the sky

The maze itself isn't infinite, each singular maze is huge but otherwise not endless. Each one is called a cluster
Once the party defeats the cluster boss and regroups up they can proceed onto the next cluster (the next maze)

Once the entire party has selected a role, then they can start

and you find out together that garruk is doing "research" on the time valley and disturbing all the latent magic they have

Roles give players special abilities that can help the party in the labyrinth

and martyn is powerless to stop it so he sends you in

Those boons are gonna get eaten faster than you can replenish them ofc, which means you’re fucked eventually especially if in fruma

Pretty generic, basically just a role for discovering tiles faster, a role to keep track of objectives (because the maze gives objectives), and the crafter

But yeah the Scintillation has its own sets of items

All party members can collect random Scintillation crafting materials throughout the maze via challenges and whatnot

But obviously there's too many items to hold, even across 12 players

And also the concept of literally building a flying boat to travel across the maze uninhibited

It’s still Wynncraft combat and challenges though

All the lootrun and raid challenges are brought in here, along with some unique maze ones

I think I have a growing list lemme to find it

I’m adding more so it feels as non-repetitive as possible after the party does like a thousand or so collective challenges

Even the Starbridges themselves can come in different variants

Most of them are regular with their own mini-interlude challenge

Starbridge challenges are kinda just like, not real challenges

It’s usually just running/ parkouring to the other side of the room or killing some enemies or destroying an obstacle and you don’t get a reward for doing so

Granted there’s stardust-related crafting materials you can get by completing Starbridges but those are like, base materials for many of the crafting recipes

Most other special materials you get by completing challenges in Starslices

Depending on what biome you are in within the Scintillation you also get certain biome-unique materials

Hell, you can even get materials from places outside of regular gameplay

When the Dreamsailor sails their ship, people who board it are taken to a separate instance where the ship is flying through the air
The trip isn’t instantaneous it’s waiting time like the Seaskipper

Except here there’s dream-related enemies that can spawn around the boat that players have to deal with, and unique dream-related crafting materials whose crafteds the Dreamsailor can use are also obtained here

Every cluster the party clears, more and more new stuff is introduced into the mazes

There are massive 1 tile-thick rivers that cut through the entire maze, that you can only pass by non-traditional means

You can fly over, have the Starforger craft a Shorefetter so everyone in that specific maze tile can teleport over the river to the next tile over, or by boarding one of the ships that sail along it

The Dreamsail that Dreamsailors spawn in are also wooden boats

They’re just magical and fly through space

The traveling ship that sails along the rivers mainly serve as a shop, but it also doubles as a temporary bridge across the river, or if you re-activate the ship while you're on it, also serves as a mode of transportation!

Oh yeah also wormholes but that’s just random RNG transport that’s kinda boring

Maybe I can connect wormholes idk

Solar Cores that appear after the party completes a few clusters, they are literal maze hazards

If party members are in a room (a maze tile) that gets caught in a solar storm it’s bad news

There’s ways to avoid them though

Such as:

1. Literally just avoiding the tile until the flare clears.
2. The Stellarbuilder (If anyone picked that role) can construct a Reflector, which when placed in a maze tile reflects all Solar Flares that hit the tile and blocks its path
3. The Chronomancer can halt Solar Flares in their tracks in one of its future upgrade abilities I think
4. I think there’s a special item the Starforger can craft that grants party members immunity to Solar Flare effects but I can’t remember

Oh right about the roles

I want them to sort of work in tandem, so every role’s existence makes sense

At least for the base roles

The Starwatcher is integral because most other roles rely on seeing large parts of the map in order to do their stuff.

• Starseers to trigger new objectives the moment the map reveals them
• Starforgers to find biomes that materials they need come from
• Novaseekers to look out for moving targets and phenomena
• Cosmodivers for exploring larger regions
• Dreamsailors to properly plan out really far fast travel routes
• Stellarbuilder for crafting materials for their sentries (again)
• Timetwister to affect the speed of stuff on the map

I’m too lazy to write a list for every single one of them

The Starseer sometimes gets objectives unique to specific roles in the party, and roles are quite literally the driving force of the entire expedition. Having an objective of “Hunt down the Starflayer and get <rewards>!” is cool and all but the moment the Starseer gets an objective that says “The party must deactivate these tree monoliths at different corners of the map within ten minutes or the entire expedition is literally going to force-end” the rest of the party probably needs to hear about it

The Starforger literally crafts items for every other role. Telescopes and all-seeing eyes for the Starwatcher, maps and other objective-related items for the Starseer, hunting gear for the Novaseeker, diving equipment for the Cosmodivers, Dreamgates and Dreamsails (the boat) for the Dreamsailor, sentry parts for the Stellarbuilder, and magical time artifacts for the Timetwister

Oh and then there’s these three special roles that can’t be picked at the start and can only be found in rare Role-Changer rooms within the later clusters of the Scintillation

(I say “later” but there are an infinite number of Clusters)

(Whatever)

(Oh right I forgot to mention the maze itself also has classic Raid-style buff rooms and the rare Role Changer rooms for if the party wants a change of plans among their members)

And also crafting sites for heavy-duty crafting stations that are required to craft items that the Starforger can’t make by hand

Sure, the Starforger can craft a number of useful trinkets on hand, but if they want to make a telescope for the Starwatcher with some stardust and metal or some plating for the Cosmodiver with astral alloy they’re going to need to find an anvil and furnace on-map

Relatively easy to find, actually, quite common in Starforges

But then the entire party is 17 Clusters into the expedition after like three whole hours of playing and suddenly the Dreamsailor wants you, the Starforger to make them another Dreamgate so that they can teleport between a monolith they need to maintain and the cluster boss and you’re out of Reality Splinters and Miracle Matter and you’ve traveled to like 3 different Starforges and not a single one of them has a Dreammaker crafting station

And then you start to realize the entire party is screwed
