those tight streets would be perfect for barricades
hey we get barricades in Hyloch
were there possibly riots prior to the final 'festival'?
in Hyloch
ughhh I want more Aelumia
every other city in fruma has some side quest
Boss altar is the best youāre getting rn
And 3 WEās
maybe once we get lvl 120+ content...
Epilogue quest oughta fix this
Could AC locations be added to a Lootrun I wonder
With the Lighthouse? I think not.
If somehow lighthouse being cleared could be a req you could maybe see it
i hate the beam of death and despair
go kill the sun judge
surely there's some nut using the lighthouse as an xp farm rn
I already said this in the soundtrack thread but I thought people here might find it also interesting. Spent some time drilling Tasims boss theme into my head and found that in "The Butterfly Effect" at 1:40 you can hear a section of "What Will be Done" specifically 2:05. Not much lore to be gained from it, but I love the direction the soundtrack team is going with these leitmotifs. Combined with the resistance theme at the end, it really makes you feel like youre finally at the end of a great journey with everyone at your side. Peak storytelling š
Anyways working on that gif was fun I guess
Now that that's over I can turn my focus to
uh
other things
Where is gif
POLY IS JOLLY
Why is that gif so well made XD
its real
Soosu just casually holding the adoption form XD
I definitely didnāt grind 1 level in lighthouse *cough*
I could make that exact scene in-game if you pay me
1stx LE
I technically did the gif above for fun but someone would've needed to pay me more than 10 stacks for that
how long did it took you to do it xd
Like, the modeling and animation itself is already a handful but the dialogue system took weeks
and the rest of the UI took months
And I would kinda want compensation for those if I were to actually produce commissions because those are a pain
The UI's all dynamic and fully functional btw
Wait does the wiki not have it
I guess I can find the skin
Actually wait can't you use YT footage if you need a visual reference for him
wiki don't have img for like, several characters rn
Oh right just added new stuff to that one image of no specific thing in particular
what is this a map of
map?
is that not a map
idk
we got cookie land, ketchup, pink thing, mustard and green
bloomi
are these canon
the never gonna give you up lyrics make me think no but there's also one talking about pi which would be interesting if the frumans knew about it
i see
Frumans invented rickroll 5000 years ago š
how do you even pronounce ETLRAKSH
is the T silent?
or is the L?
Iām pretty sure āetlā is a prefix meaning āourā
So I pronounce it seperately from the word
Idk trying to speak tahkashtel just makes you sound like youāre having a brain aneurysm
Trofmas = Craftmas
Neat
Idk I havenāt really interacted with too many people in the tahkashtel decoding thread
Iāve just been doing my own thing off in the corner bc Iām socially awkward
nah theyre from a banner img touhoku made for the purposes of translating
its not actually in game
o ok
Ohhhh you meant Hiroshima and Nagasaki
Lmao
6 hours to ruminate type shi
Wait no š
This is off-topic but I just was looking through my old sketchbooks and saw my old wynncraft art when I was literally 9
I don't think i've ever felt more disgusted at myself
So, has all of Tahkashtel been deciphered yet, or is there still quite a bit yet to translate
I think l is it's own syllable like in "ketTLE"
So like /etlĢ©rakŹ/
It's hard to see but there's a dot below the l
gee it sure is quiet over here
They like to frum it frum it
A cool idea is a quest where we enroll into the aelumnia university
to get some info I guess
isnt there already grookwarts
okay so Wynncraft exists on a planet because they have a solar system model, so do other provinces exist or do they technically exist but they're not in cannon until they're built
presumably the planet is larger than what we see in game its just we arent ever getting info
or is fruma literally on the edge of the world and over the mountain is gavel
oh alright
Likely open for future expansion if ct waned to
Planet Bloomi
I wish there were loose threads of exterior provinces that they could follow up on whenever they wanted but I guess it makes more sense to only do the gameplay areas
Itās mmorpg
They likely will expand later for future storyline
At least if they still using the same map
as much as that would be cool fruma has been hinted at since like gavel and was only added now id rateher leave it till the current storyline is done
Yeah
Too much going on will be information overloading
I would not even mind if the new storyline come with its own map like monuments
Like world 2 or something
I think current wynncraft map just so messy from both gameplay and lore wise
That I prefer statt fresh for new storyline
I see why some of y'all like Rex
yeah thats fair enough just feels a tiny bit of a letdown that theres not other entire civilizations with looser lore
I would treat it like how Octopath2 treats it, acknowledges it while understanding that our story is set in these three current provinces
it makes it feel a tiny bit small but it makes complete sense why
I mean the entire plane of influence matters because all 3 sides want to take over it
the slime pocket dimension
oh thats cool
are there any physical signs of corruption in Fruma?
Dont think
only ||in the raid||
Its all metaphysical
I wish the ocean mountain range would be removed and it'd br just a barrier wall with the ocean continuing in render distance
you can't put barriers in water
Ok? Just have a 1 block barrier wall in place of the water š¤Æ
wait gale's from fruma?
She is an ancestor of zhiraok
... so that's where zhairok got his badassness from
honest zhariok being as agile as gale makes perfect sense
(also finally a good noble person from fruma and we didn't even know it for years)
There's a secret discovery about gale
oh yeah i'm doing it now
(i need exp badly and the only world events i haven't done are actually hell)
To be fair zhiraok agility just came from him able to fasten his own time
probably was already agile though
Does it have to do with an archer? š£ļø
autumn poachers, glacial training, tree top cradle fossil fighters and patrolling soldiers
those five world events are banes of my existence.
I guessed glacial training then
yeah glacial training is just.. weird.
feels like the boss has way too much health for a world event with how his strong attack is borderline instant and can one shot.
W balancing
and then tree top cradle is just too small, patrolling soldiers gets populated way too much for my liking, fossil fighters i think i'm just bad at and autumn poachers yeah i hate stuns xD
Tbf gale might only be agile cuz she's a ghost, if she would have gotten a blessing it might have been smth else but who knows
Would be.. interesting if every1 in their family would just be about speed lol
honestly reading the diary, kinda makes me like gale more
like a "yeah she'd so be besties with the player like a extravert adopting the introvert" style
Consider that would be boring
Why?
There's a sense of wonder exploring "uncharted" moutains in the least travelled reaches of the map there just isn't if we replace them with just water
I see, i just think what i said would be cool cuz the ocean would feel bigger and not a small enclosed sea lmao
True tho that the border mountains have some interesting stuff
I wonder if its possible to survive [WTP Spoiler] ||Anathema's Blessing at the end of WTP||. Got a funny death message so it was worth it lol.
Dont think
only ||mr. bakal|| āļø
I mean there are builds that have like 1mil ehp, so maybe
if it does true dmg then no
If you sneak in 25 bigmacs and 25 reso acos, maybe you can out overheal the true damage
true damage ignores defense and dodge, idk if it would matter. I guess it depends how much true damage it actually is
maybe with like the bonfire totem, Big Mac and Aco reso you could do it?
I assumed that it just increased the frequency
If it goes to a flat 100%, then yeah, we doomed
But, if itās still tiny enough increments, maybe we can save ourselves
if its anything less then 100% of your hp as true damage im sure its possible
How much EHP did Ba'kal have to tank that while barely alive
He didnāt take all of it
It was her first attempt at āascendingā a sovereign ig
She utterly failed fr, because she was desperate to save their life
I forgot which one happened first ngl
RA, KA, NA, IA
RA is royal = new dynasty
RA, KA, NA, IA
yea it should be RA
unless auburn absinthe needs like 300 years to age
which I highly doubt
Maybe thats why it tastes like shit š¤
also yeah, I did not remember this line but it basically confirms what croaquin is
perchance
You never know. Itās certainly a stank ass brew
Also, since a changeling can basically be anything, like an anthro smoking alcoholic talking frog from the Bronx, where are the changeling concubines
woah what
thats cool
croaquin is a changeling yeah
forgot this line exists
which basically confirms it
why does he spend all his time as a frog
u dont think the soup of life can just create other things
Because it's seggsy
there's a document in fort hegea that explains it
it's not in project hallowground
Seems Croaquin has had the ole inquisitor treatment
well, inquisitors are the ones who pay him
And they keep an eye on themāalso get them drunk afāto keep them in a single form
still dunno why they pay him to scare off people though
Force then into one place, while also giving them no chance to adapt to a new environment and potentially break whatever block they put on them from changing
did no one read every document in fort hegea or something
changelings sometimes just. stick to one form
Itās the most advantageous form to take
The problem is that Croaquin has zero clue what they are
and they lose their value as spies once they've stuck to one form
His memory couldāve been wiped while being relocated
I'm not denying that maybe inquisitors were at play for his memories
yea
Itās likely that, because Idt you wanna risk anymore changelings pulling and Azael
but I still don't get why he's given the job of warding away people from the swamp
there is a reason.
there is a reason for it
^ for it
My theory is still to force people away from that areaāfor oneāand to keep Croaquin in a single area. Superstitions and folklore builds culture, and scares the people around Auburn into one life, while also limiting Croaquin from being able to adapt outside of their forced confinement
i was doing slang
there is a reason is slang for there is a reason for it
if youre just joinin the stream
The what
This person is very correct.
question: why does he ward people away from the swamp?
"my theory is that he does this to ward people away"
Even without confirmation, understanding the disparity between the districts gives a very broad showcase of the culture of the Auburner's - it's very... rural.
It enforces a status quo - The Auburner's live a very, very idyllic life that is surrounded by the fact they are the poorest of the nation.
Not to mention that, if they give Croaquin a home, a purpose, and something to look forward to, they wonāt just up and leave, and then stir panic, or alleviate that cultural norm, and start potentially working together again. They need something there to stop people from risking hiding in the bog, too
Thatās the first sentence, dope
is it though? there are barely any houses that arent grouped into a town. theres zero agriculture
why not just kill the changeling tho
this seems like a job, not a "keep this guy busy"
Because then it doesnāt do anything, and you donāt have a scary folk monster to scare cursed, revolutionaries, etc from living in the damn dirty bog
again
youre not answering (because you and i and no one knows) WHY they need to scare people from being in the bog
i doubt people would move there, its just about exploring
I just told you, so no one goes there. Thatās it. Itās an annoying place to explore, and itās easy to hide in it
youre just repeating that they need something to scare ppl
im fucking dead
I originally speculated that the deep parts of the bog are close to the wellsprings of eternity
but like
Hang on, I'll type something more expansive for you, I genuienly want to help here.
you'd need to climb a fucking cliff
can someone tell me im not going crazy here
you're not
You are, because youāre asking the same damn question š your answer is already in-game
you havent answered the damn question
you just keep repeating "there is a reason for it"
"answer is in the game" IT'S NOT š
Iāve given you 5 reasons
WE DON'T KNOW WHY HE GUARDS THE BOG
list them
list 5
"1. to scare people out of the bog"
I don't think the crown/inquisitors really care to give a scary boogeyman for culture to be shaped around
so I doubt it's that
keeping a changeling in place would make sense, but then like
why the bog
It literally is, though. He āguards itā to 1) scare people away from living there, because itās already dangerous
2) to keep cursed, revolutionaries, etc from hiding out there and making bases
3) to instill a folklore built into the population to be afraid of exploring beyond set boundaries
4) to not waste any changelings (they have a finite supply)
5) context clues from there
right? if anything, they are explicitly stated to NOT want culture to form in auburn because it turns into unity and solidarity and rebellion
What is wrong with you š
too bad i edited it to put the quote marks so now it just looks like i wrote that afterwards
1- people aready live in the bog
2- doesn't work, world event and world discovery text tells us cursed still reside there
Itās to dissuade regardless. 3 cursed living there is not evidence for it not working on the 1000 others that mightāve wanted to try
I just realzied point 3 might have some merit, but not for the reason you gave
to make a crown approved culture to the people of auburn
so they don't form some culture like the one that was removed
demolishing what came before, building what they want in place of it
it's already something we know of happening
- there is nothing more dangerous in the bog that isnt in the woods already. auburn's residents are used to dealing with the wild animals they share a forest with. Stop bringing up this point it's incorrect
- cursed already live in the bog, so this is also an incorrect reason
- there is no reason for the crown to want to "instill a folklore," unless you want to try and provide a reasoning
- to not "waste" a changeling so they give up one of their changelings to perform a useless task? until you or someone can provide an actual reason to have him here, this point isn't doing anything
- lol
with the temple that was demolished and in its place fort torann was built
I got work rn, but Iāll be back to not argue with this later
but then like... another question
why did the inquisitors stop paying croaquin
š
I'M GONNA NUKE THIS STUPID FROG
im curious whats different, then, between old auburn and new auburn culture. since it seems like the crown still celebrates the aspects of auburn that they can commodify during the festivals
from what little we can pick out, I think the old auburn culture was more closer tied to old fruma and the cursed
like that one settlement from remains of the cursed
it made the people want to be free and unoppressed
especially given a thalas was the sovereign around the end of that culture
and knowing the current thalas...
and given that the queen specifically says "erasing their gods, destroying their monuments"
it definitely feels like that culture stood opposed to her rule
so to delete it and then plant a new one in its place
one that is approved by the crown, one that wards off the population to keep them from exploring
I guess it makes sense?
It's not about the bog itself - The bog doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things, it's a part of a forest that just looks bad as a result of either the Wellspring of Eternity's impact (let's also acknowledge that the Wellspring is an Immortality Juice and that could imply that it's 'draining' the area around it) or a result of the giant tree just south of the bog being a split tree, half of it could be implied dead due to the fact it's split down the middle and the source of roots to help provide the bog's trees with nutrients is effectively null and void.
I think it could be multiple things or all at once.
One.
I think it could be a resulting fact that keeping an area that is kept together very poorly and spinning it into a culture rumour/story because even though it doesn't matter that the bog isn't important, it does matter that the people make up silly stories - the Crown and it's districts are formatted in a way that prevents rebellions from forming and when they do they fail, very, very badly - the best way was done by the Corkian's because they chose to run away with brains, not brawn face forward at the crown itself.
The Auburner's live a specifically idyllic life where in which their wealth disparity between the Highlander's and even the Roughworks citizens (and I am a certified user of Roughworks and not Industrial District fuck the rich), they live in that cottage town with only say a hundred people where kids grow up to see the beautiful, stunning castle above them shining with how proud they should be of their country - it's not a goal of many of them to aspire to be further up in the nation's districts but it's one that wishful thinking let's them think sometimes.
Think during Blossom of Blades, if you interacted with the citizens during some festival prep sections you meet an Espren citizen, he saved all his money for all those however long just to get to the most expensive place in the nation and he said he couldn't even afford a hotel.
That's what people in Auburn can afford after years - a view.
Their culture is simple.
It's idyllically simple, they've got spas - they're effectively a tourist attraction for the rich to visit.
Bringing kids up in a place like that needs a culture of simplism to go with it and a story like the 'Scary Bog Frog' is an actual form of social simplism that has been used in societies as a means to make kids grow up stupid - grow up beliving in the whimsical and to never fight against something, don't be too brave to enter the bog or you will be brave enough to face the crown.
The citizens themselves and their biggest 'opinion' is that the oldies liked the old sovereign and think Zhiraok is 'too young' 'too in people's busniesses' - and I'm speaking about recent Auburn culture.
Think the Mistwoods, the Wickerman Festival is for kids to learn about killing Changeling's, it's for the adults to show how nice it is to burn that thing and tell them the stories about never letting anyone who acts remotely.... literally autistic (Which I am.) to being exiled or treated as the 'Changeling' like we had to choose in Celebration of Smoke and the whole point is to perpetuate a status quo where they care more about killing every Changeling (who are forcibly taken from their source home to become literally groomed spies for the nation) then dealing with the crown head on like Syndra's team is willing to do with protag's power - The Canopy isn't powerful at all, the best they do is climate activism and that's because Aldwell is too busy killing Changeling's to be willing to think past the monsters the Crown made for them to be scared of.
The Bog keeps the status quo, it keeps the simplism that they want.
And the second theory which I think counts too.
The Wellspring of Eternity - and I don't think it needs as many words
It's no secret that the Queen's special royal garden is the prettiest, healthiest and richest part of the entire of Auburn and it's a fucking landslide in comparision, I'd say it's healthier than the pink trees in the Highlands - you don't want people to have access to even a cliff near the area and on top of that we don't know any of the actual implications of what the spring is, does it take nutrients around it? We don't know!
But what we do know is where it is, and it's situated in an area where you can (and I bring the earlier theory up) spin a tale that makes it more important than the Wellspring being something people want to accidentally find.
Having the 'Bog Monster' can be a distraction, the kids will try to confidently go in seeking an unimportant, very nice frog guy and the adults will spend their parenthood telling the kids to never go near there because it's literally the worst place ever and has mosquito's, literally ew.
Croaquin serves a purpose in the culture and society, he's literally the scary cave monster.
But because I know you want it to be something more and something about the bog itself (I genuinely don't believe the Bog is important, it's a byproduct of Auburn's health being on a downhill and that big ass tree just below it I think is and was the only source of anything it had left relating to healthy nutrients and support given the Frog Bog is the furthest away from the water sources (that are cleaner) means it's just now another vegetable on Zhiraok's plate he has to eventualy solve with his goals and aspirations of the Auburn district being 'relevant' to the crown again.
holy wall of text
I'm writing an essay on Fruma and the classism disparity with it's ability to quash resistance's being customized for each district so I've got a lot to say - It's going to be a thread in #1019649786799996980 once I'm done.
we've never seen the youth fountains "draining" an area around it, so why would the wellsprings be unique in doing that
if anything, they bring life to an area
like how we see with the lazarus pit
Have you thought about posting it to the forums ?
forums are dead
Well they're googlable at least xd
It's not implied that it could be any of that but I'm aware that what's being asked is the relevance of the Bog itself - I'm spinning my own thoughts because the fight here is that Shmeg is being asked an impossible question because what you need is answers from the writers themselves.
And I will do, I think Discord kind of made a black hole for information and forums are as valuable as the day they were made
Plus, some people don't wanna use Discord, they shouldn't miss out just because.
But I'll post both - I'll have to format it some though.
Yeah I think content this thought out shouldn't be left to the whims of discord
fair
this is a really good read though
still continuing to go down the text wall
this is a bad read though
"the canopy isn't powerful" my ass
yeah we haven't seen it, but we're told they actively fight the crown
akin to what the leaves/feather did when we showed up
if not more
Y'know what, I agree - I'm going to shift some words around because I'm not really conveying what I mean there and I don't just care about my own opinion like an asshat but I've got another thing writing up first.
aight
I do definitely think the loss of the giant tree and the stagnation of the water have caused the area to be less healthy yea
the wellspring doesn't really drain nutrients itself though
it's another fountain of youth, like the ones in wynn and gavel
if anything, the water is being diverted to the garden
so that the plant life inside is so healthy
and it doesn't spread elsewhere, where it would naturally
whats his face has actively fought majin and survived
I know I'm not literally the messiah of answers, I'm not trying to be but the point is to make you think - Fruma has a lot of history but what I care and cater to specifically is how the Queen has manufactured a nation that can never win against her in every regard.
The Auburner's live too far away from the real society of Fruma to matter (and that's what they think which is why Syndra making a large charge is such an unexpected snowball of effects for Fruma)
Roughworks live in perpetual rent
I had a section about Mistwoods but in response to you calling my comments out I want to properly give you attention there
The Highland's own resistance is a group of rich people that don't actually care about helping anyone, they care about the gossip and are aware the poor exist but just go 'Well, I care as far as my mouth will let me around people that share the opinion around a meeting table in a room a floor downstairs once a week' That's the best The Highlands can offer........ except Rex, if you know you know.
My knowledge of the Spring is admittedly low but if you know more direct quotes than me, you aren't someone I'm going to ignore in the slightest, fair treatment and all - And I specialize in Fruma itself so my knowledge of Wynn and Gavel is empt.
Rurie, I remember.
we don't know if rurie fought majin
he just has "experience"
we don't know what that is exactly
Experience could be shouting at each other over a picket fence for all we know
we know he comes from the highlands
'My garden is better than urs'!
I definitely think the nature of the mistwoods, having the mist act as walls to keep people contained, has lead to them mostly just being isolated from the rest of the province
in the story. the region feels somewhat disconnected from it all
people are living and dealing with the threats in the woods because that's the biggest threat currently
the crown's changelings are just an extention to that
but yeah
the nation the queen has made really can't fight against her on its own
the roughworks not only is so focused on living paycheck to paycheck, but they've also been kind of brainwashed to believe the queen can do no wrong
and they don't really ever get time off to think against that
every year, their quotas get raised by the queen
they never get time to think about resisting the regime given they need to spend so much of their day to simply live for tomorrow
I wonder if the reason the quotas get raised isn't because of greed, but to raise them because if they don't keep raising them, a natural increase in production due to new tech and infrastructure will help the citizens have free time.
yeah
that
if the people are too busy working day to day, overworking themselves to an early death, they have no time to properly resist
you need to constantly keep the workload big enough to where people don't end up having enough free time to think
hell, that's like
REALLY real
that happens in our world
So to summarize, if I've been understanding this right?
The people of the Auburn forest are kept ignorant about the province at large and their ancestral past.
The people of the Roughworks are kept poor and destitute.
The people of the Mistwoods are kept afraid and focused on destroying infiltrators to a self-destructive degree.
The people of the Highlands are kept pampered and happy.
Meanwhile we've not seen the Wasteland, but from what we can infer, it's mostly known for having a lot of penal laborers and a near-inescapable prison - they're held with an iron fist.
And presumably the elite in Aelumia Citadel (and the Highlands, to a lesser extent) are the people who benefit from all this the most, and have no reason to shake the status quo.
Pretty much summarizes it all well
yea
aelumia is uh... kind of a similar boat as highlands
but also like
aelumia/highlands you're not told about how bad it is in the rest of the province
roughworks can't rebel cause they are struggling just to survive, mistwoods can't rebel cause they are in a giant dangerous jungle where changelings probably sabotage any further attempts at expansion, and the highlands has a rigid system of nobility and social etiquettes which discourage any kind of rebellion
it's also why Auburn and, ironically enough, Highlands have the most semi successful rebel groups
Auburn had a leader take over who was a former member of the military and just took up already disaffected people to her cause
there's an npc you can find in auburn that's an art student from aelumia iirc that plans on going to the roughworks next, but they still call it the agrecultural district, they still expect it to be covered in fields of crops and windmills
like they're not told AT ALL what the reality is beyond their walls
Hm. Yeah, there's a distinction to be made, but not sure if it's Aelumia/Highlands. More like, the average civilian in Aelumia/Highlands, versus the nobles, generals, bureaucrats, the university, etc. The people living in bliss and the people who are part of the machine.
and even if the highlands is mostly ineffectual they still assassinate a general
They're just a bit too ignorant and kept tied up in idealism and rumor and gossip to be allowed to really know how things work and what would be effective
unsurpisingly it's an already existing military presence (Syndra) who creates the biggest waves
as we see in most irl history too, just instead of having an army Syndra has magic
wdym like
the ending to the strong survive?
train quest
On A Rail.
Alright.
So, The Mistwoods is a complicated district with a complicated society and I think Gikyo counts on that too, I've spoken about it earlier in this chat but it kind of went under the radar because people treat long walls of text like they should be ignored so I for one super appreciate you being someone different, it's rare to find.
The Mistwoods lies at the border between the working class and the rich and is an area with not even a train station to it, it's effectively a 'Forest of Death' that both sides never want to traverse, Highlander's are incentivized to used their unlimited wealth on the train station to visit the other districts on holiday (or through education) so we can scratch the idea of people visiting there off which means they have little to no interaction with 'news' outside of the Roughworks intel gathering which is the only side I remember hearing about.
It's one town, Aldwell exists in effectively a perpetual lockdown because the Changeling's are a constant threat in their society only because they are groomed and bred from however they're formed in the Tar Pits to become immediate spies with no individuality past their fortress (I'd say the Rookies have the most personality based on the miniboss that hides the key in the big room but that they will disappear as they shift into professional spies) and Aldwell's citizens care more about killing off an (actually innocent but bred to be spies) species because that's their reality, it's as complicated as it's allowed to be from up above.
It's one resistance group The Canopy sort of has problems, I feel.
They're powerful, absolutely - but what's in front of them will always stop any change from happening, the Changeling's are aplenty and are their priority immediately from the moment you meet Rurie - we kidnap that Changeling and if we're being honest there isn't information they can get off of them, Changeling's are on a strict 20+ hour regime just to be spies and nothing else, to the Crown they're meaningless troopers that they can toss at a problem for as long as they need and can to stop The Canopy from being able to actually get meaningful changes - what they do is Climate Activism - we destroy drills and piping and those are things that can be fixed by a group of people and some soldiers (also noting that the piping system is literally on the patrolled path to the Highlands) and that sort of is the cycle they've been in for some time since the splitoff from Gikyo and whatever their name is.
They're strong in strength and understand symbol-based magic but what worth is that power if they don't feel like they can think past their own problems - The Steel Feather is notoriously bad at change, they got comfortable with safety and never wanted to fight more because they weren't willing to hurt more and rebellion needs hurt, The Roughworks woul had stayed the exact same forever if Syndra's team didn't shoot past.
Auburner's have always had the least risk with their actions because of how unimportant they were which is why them snowballing into The Roughworks was the one thing The Steel Feather needed to actually do something - people were never going to stop losing their homes, it was a charity - built on kind beliefs but ones that won't do the world good as kind as charity is.
Gikyo is the most self-aware of the Sovereign's not because they knows more about the hierachy but because they are aware of the powerlessness - the problem is that they just don't have enough willingness to fight against it because they know the Queen's plight with the Realm shit.
The Canopy is effectively a roadblock for real resistances, think about it - this Climate Activist group that can't get past the Changeling bloackade meets a real rebellion, Syndra's rebellion - what are they going to think? 'Oh we need to grab them so they can help our cause!' and The Canopy is loud about what they do, so much so they can be infiltrated by just one person, Gikyo - The Crown or at least Gikyo has to know The Canopy is useful because having them exist means you can easily quash the real problems, Sui and the protagonist.
The Canopy doesn't have 'power' in the grand scheme of the society around it and how they can't get past their own district, Gikyo can infiltrate it so god damn simply by swapping forms and in the span of five seconds IMMEDIATELY got us into prison with probably barely any effort.
I think The Canopy is just stuck, they're stuck in a way that was made on purpose by the crown and Gikyo's unwillingness to help make change and that they would never have gotten further than their own walls because of it.
tbh people like cemor and caid were the exception to the blossom of blades
He still did kill a guy lmao, even if it's rightfully pointed out how little of an impact that'll have
but it's the environment of the highlands which allows him and Caid to exist, similar to Auburn allowing it's own rebels to exist
dude I care about fruma lore
why would I ignore walls of text
I wouldn't be surprised if Majin is well aware of the blossom of blades and allows it because they inherently stifle anyone who tries to rebel
I love that shit
the existing leadership stomps down any possible real action, forcing actors like Caid and Cemor to act alone, get caught, and perpetuate things
Zhiraok would probably have wiped out the rebels himself too, but he winds up making the fatal mistake of giving Syndra time to let it fester
I never used to type like this but my husband does essays so I do too - people usually just go 'Haha shakesphere's here' and say nothing else and I've watched him get just ignored over and over and treated like words are a crime - I just kind of expect it to be the same for me, I'm far less blunt than him so people are nicer but it's what I expect, you know?
At least dogs can listen to me talk about Fruma lore for three hours.
(She's on the bed with me)
I really enjoy having someone similarly willing to vomit words about lore lmao
I would do the same if I had the motivation myself
I think it's just that discord, and large-population discords in specific, tend to filter down discussion into short, rapid comments.
aelumia/highland people do sometimes visit for studies, but it's most likely the one path closest to the aelumia plateau, aka the path that doesn't go through the heart of mistwoods and definitely not through aldwell
muy show is on i love when ppl talk abt the mistwoods and gikyo
it is an interesting dichotomy that the most competent sovereign, Zhiraok, wound up being the one to fail in putting down his rebellious peoples
hell, there's even signs to show the crown attacks aldwell sometimes
Soosu has a spy in the Steel Feather which ensures she knows they're passive, Gikyo has their changelings constantly harrass the canopy and prevent any expansion, and Majin just has to ensure the same gossipy idiots stay in control in the Highlands
wastelands probably doesn't have any real settlements so the prison is all there is
Well they are attacking Aldwell, the books say the citizens evacuated and they're using Changeling's as a way to make sure those books stay true without any effort
It's like, fucked up
zhiraok just straight up didnt think that the leaves were even an ounce of a threat, he calls the practically a rounding error
It's mainly cause he assumed their most competent member, Syndra, was under his thumb still
then the player comes in and gives all of them magic
Suddenly they aren't kept in place by their lack of membership and have at least a semi competent commander around
It's why once he realizes what's happening he's chasing the group to the Roughworks, probably realizing the collosal error he just made
he's lucky about what Syndra decides to do ends up imploding the leaves
That one lootrun challenge comes to mind. I think we don't really see what happens in the Mistwoods - it's probably a lot of constant skirmishes and sabotage and the Canopy is constantly fighting the army in a lot of small ways.
Especially since, well, the crown probably doesn't move all its prisoners to the Wastelands by metro - there's probably some overland caravans that have to go through the forest, since it is between the Highlands and the Wasteland (though there's also a route to the Wasteland via the Industrial District, I think?)
hi!
Hang on, back during True Colours, didn't they say something like "Oh, they know about this place? We have to move so soon?" Or something along those lines. Implying they have to frequently relocate their whole hideout just because the crown is always on their ass.
I love the difference in mindset with gikyo and azael, where one blames those who fight back against changelings, while the other blames the ones who forced changelings to be the threat that is being fought back against
Yeah they're constantly harassed by the changelings
yep
I have to assume they were smaller as well before Azael joined up with them and presumably brought with a knowledge of how changelings operated
even if it's every three months normally that's not exactly conducive to building any kind of external powerbase from within the mistwoods
Esp when everyone outside seems to assume people in the mistwoods are dead/gone and would freak out if they met anyone form the canopy
they can't build outside alliances until the player and co literally waltz into the place
Well I'm happy it was with my other posts and not that one lmao.
I think it's a situation where they're really good with guerilla warfare and being a thorn in the crown's side, but can't really afford a full frontal assault until you deal with the Gikyo situation.
Yeah the filter is really weird lmao
this is why gikyo is the goatkyo they do their job so well
Gikyo's one job is to keep the canopy from expanding and that's about it, and they do it well
i am however biased
Solar is on point.
oh and to train the changelings
i am so biased towards gikyo its not even funny, its HILARIOUS
the canopy is a very competently run group of rebels which is kept under heel not by societal or economic pressures, but by completely cutting off outside contact and flooding their society with changelings to ruin everything for them
Imagine the canopy trying to perform an assault on Fort Hegea
Still! I really like the Canopy for being the only resistance faction with teeth
the chaos of an enemy army able to just transform into your army in the middle of a battle
Gikyo has like two scenes and a Secret Discovery of screentime, and they spend it perfectly
even if it's purely appearance, you end up with pure chaos
I think the mistwoods is such a perfect area for the crown
they can train changelings unimpeded AND they have the perfect playground for newly trained changelings to adapt to real situations AND they also get to distract the canopy from doing something ACTUALLY threatening to the crown by keeping them busy with changelings
the auburn forest also fits thematically as the source of the queen's downfall
Cause practically, what purpose does auburn serve in the grand scheme of fruma?
roughworks produces more food and more innocations and supplies, mistwoods trains the spy network, and the complex social structure of highlands keeps the elite in line
Exactly!
The Auburner's are what Fruma needed.
No one is more motivated than a resistor from Auburn because they have such low stakes, low stakes equals risky mindsets and those risky mindsets are what The Steel Feather and Fruma needed to make change, they were so unexpected, uncared for in Fruma's society (a rounding error) that they SNOWBALLED the nation, the biggest protective areas was Fort Torann and the Capital and nothing in-between because they were comfortable with the setup that kept the citizens down from fighting back
Rex is a catalyst more so than Syndra.
The protagonist is the push but a Highlander is the start, they needed someone who saw everything below them, understood more intricacies than most and would in whatever way end up at the bottom-most district to help them climb up - Just because the poor can fight back doesn't mean they can always win, someone from the Highland's that realized all the problems in the nation including how the Blossom of Blades are prissy people that don't actually care and to go 'No! How dare this be the people that deem they care, this is disgusting, this is horrible, this isn't change, we need change'
Rex didn't know about them because she had an alternative life but Auburner's still got Highlander's in the end and it pushed them out.
The Auburner's aren't even people that are active in the society, the most active people in Auburn aren't even Auburner's - the Lumber Yard up east of Espren is made up of Roughwork's Workers that are imported in for resource gathering for up high.
but auburn is deliberately made to be beautiful and idyllic, the queen directly saying that's it's one of her favorite places to visit as well. Because no matter what, she couldn't get rid of that initial pure attachment she had to the material plane, despite it conflicting with her authoritarian regime in order to keep them in line
so auburn has to be kept in line purely by isolating them as much as possible, and yet we see in story and SDs that they frequently have rebellions regardless
Resulting in it being wiped out entirely, the only district which ever got so rowdy as to require that
even mistwoods just got cut off, not flooded
It's not like the queen couldn't wipe the mistwoods out if she really wanted to
Just hoping that you're doing well once you're back - arguments or not I did want to help support you given it was kind of a brick wall conversation, I hope I said things that helped you there because I've seen people on your side of a conversation and it kills me to see you and others go through it.
Nah, I donāt mind anything lol
I donāt take any of this seriously, even when Iām wrong, because everyone hereās having fun
I've wondered if the reason for it is that the Queen can't avoid causing war, no matter how much she tries, and she'll always give cause for a rebellion one way or another. Needs to eat.
Like, for instance - Syndra was completely loyal before the Queen gave her that 'test of loyalty' that ended up making her defect. And I wonder if that's because in the future, it would lead to war. There is no war within Fruma, but the Queen needs war - or rather, cannot stop being War.
bpd self sabotaging queen headcanon
everything the queen does inevitably leads to the thing she hoped to escape
I honestly think Anathema's problem is just that she grew up in a painful, miserable place and forced her way out of it by sheer willpower and that had a traumatically effective impact on who she was.
She can't avoid it because she fought tooth and nail to get out of her hell.
yea
It's sort of a relapse problem - she needs to like, make friends.
Bak'al didn't help.
If she could just make friends (like, let's ditch the crown, be friends with the Sovereign's or some shit, have dinner parties) she could help repair her trauma.
croaquin is so bad at shapeshifting that theres not really much else of a use for them
Ana seems like the kind of person who cannot handle respite and peace, even when they supposedly āfightā for it. Theyāre a danger to themselves, and the world, because of her horrible origin, and I like to think that she canāt actually ever be given a chance to own a claim without hurting people. (Which is why I hope that ātreating her with kindnessā is limiting her to no claim)
the sad part is she tried with Two
but never got anywhere with that
"I couldn't get fondness out of her" I think was one postraid line
I think it's a matter of control issues that she has
yeah
she's terrified of nebulous bad things happening to Fruma
which both prevents her from even trying to expand and help other people, and also oppress the people internally out of fear
And she needs to try again.
Two is someone who treats Anathema's trauma and realm shit like it's some failure of her being - a plight of problems that Anathema is causing and I lowkey think Two is not the right option as important as Two legitimately is.
She needs people to tell her no that are powerful enough to make her stop panicking and going into 'combat' mode as a reactionary, that's not how you keep friends.
she got so possessive of fruma because it was the first time she had a piece of land to herself that she loved
She is a literal Godqueen and she is still extremely insular
Could she close the portal in Wynn with the resonance weaver, actually? Is that what she was going to end up doing, after she finally delved into Saph and Orphionās claim
yes
the resonance weaver could close the portals
it's just a matter of knowing how to do that
we don't know what her goals were after dealing with the added weight on dark's claim
She shouldnāt have wiped out the entire race of Frumanās who knew how to use it
But, idk her plan, and sheās dead anyway
but again
she was just so protective of fruma
she couldn't bare the possibility of losing it
Idc revive Anathema and give her Netflix it'll fix her, Majin, Zhiraok and Gikyo all at once - give them some reality TV trash to bond over.
Soosu is the only one I think would not attend the Netflix dinners.
I like delving into the psyche of a pathological narcissist, or minor sociopathic traits. Their entire life sounds so genuinely miserable, and itās ironically used to justify it, in some cases. Ana feels like that kind of life, and itās beautifully tragic
Anathema was a little bit š¬ with that 'Deal is over' shit.
yeeaa
tbh
wouldn't she have used the resonance weaver to also remove soosu's blessing
it feels like something that would be possible
That is the implication, but I also think she can just remove her mark
!!!!!! get gikyo into those dreamworks netflix exclusive shows right now!!! show them the changeling goblins!!!!!!!!!
the only result of this would be gikyo doing the Dreamworks Pose before killing their victims
you know the one
show them ds9
no i dont sry
arms crossed, half open smile, raised eyebrow
they do that anyways except they put their hands behind their back
yea
nothing substantial would change
gikyo can never change, that is because they're perfect
but they can have fun
give them buttered popcorn and other things that dont exist in wynncraft
Gikyo is in it for the drama.
If Gikyo could have unparalelled access to all the gossip in Fruma they would watch it all at once.
it may LOOK like my frumsanity has gone down, but its actually gotten worse its just not in this server rn
would gikyo watch soap operas
oh you KNOW if yumans name ever escaped zephs lips while he was getting tortured that they would have the TIME OF THEIR LIFE
LMAO true
hotel nightmares, kitchen nightmares, the like
the canopy could have taken down gikyo just by airdropping all the newspapers and gossip mags they could
but then gikyo takes the form of zhiraok and reads them all in like a minute
nah you gotta savour stuff like that, who knows when theyll get another airdrop
...is this lore or just character discussion? lmao
quill just mentioned it and i was like "wait it's been multiple weeks?"
gikyo is a gossip, its in the lore
Yeah, the only time indicators we have are NPCs saying it's been a few days/weeks.
No about the Netflix conversation above lmao
has it canonically been 13 years
yeah idk why but i was imagining the player rapid firing the quests
1 actually
but no makes sense the player was probably doing days of nothing or training
We're discussing the lore implications of what shows gikyo would like to watch
just making sure soosu's dead right?
like she was executed after saving the player and co
Spoilers
Welp, can't argue with that lmao
If you wanna know her fate you gotta play more
i've only got two quests to do but i was just curious because she does kinda disappear for so long
ah okay then yeah keep playing
it was also weird because the queen said she would despite also wanting to torture her with living
Those are the two quests funnily enough that will um... answer your question.
she's the only sovereign i like and just wanna give a hug to
mostly out of "aww feel bad for you"
that's just a lie the newspapers are spreading
zeph and yuman, sitting in a tree
second favourite couple.. never beating maxie and rhay
probably third? like right behind zeph and yuman
i like them as individuals it's just elise made me sad just being herself, the romance never really got to me as much outside of elise makes me sad
Elise was my tears button
She was destined to be a remainder of what once was and she was going to die feeling like that - her last words about Syndra being her resoluteness in the fact her life was not the one that mattered over Syndra's.
It really sucked.
All that waiting and removal of Elise having a life at all anymore for an important movement but you couldn't have mustered the courage to visit when you had a momentary chance?
To be fair again people with memory problems and dying without having lived are things I cry to so I was very š¬ dying inside
when/where did Bob say this btw?
yeah that quest i think is the worst especially since it made it clear, not everyone with their memory wiped is going to wynn and living a life
i think his book pages
Yes.
Look, I watched all of Inuyasha and the main villain of that show would literally be solved if he just had Soap Opera's
That's in reference to the planes tbf
ahh okay nice
Gikyo doesnāt watch television. They just sorta mentor changelings all day, which explains why theyāre all weirdoes
thats what made Her Majesty irredeemable
Azael broke the mold fr, too bad his letter never reached Gikyo, both literally and metaphorically
Yeah didn't you remember the Frumatube posters that Gikyo had in their bedroom that we visited in Aelumia? They had fifty televisions all turned on at once to the tune of Big Brother
actually I think they changed some dialogue to suggest she did visit after we got to the roughworks, but Elise didn't recognize her
I just realized that despite all it's got there are no tvs / studios in fruma
Oh! That would be really sweet if so.
i think this is the worst part, there is a good chance she did anyway
and that Quill helped in trying to get to her
It was literally what I suggested somewhere here.
Nuh uh, they got theater
but elise isn't going to remember
that inquisitor bs is that hard huh....
Idk if they have any contemporary dance as an art within the Aelumia theater, but maybe they do
Iād like to see how theyād animate that ngl
honestly though, the inquisitor stuff is just... cruel
yuuuup
you're either lucky and sent to wynn or you suffer remembering nothing
??? what does any of this mean
i actually kinda wish i could of just killed a few inquisitors in that quest.
Yeah, Fruma is a modernism similar to Naruto in that it's direction technologically were based on the world around it - in a world where magic is real your culturally important technology changes and shifts too.
Fantasy world & culture meeting electricity doesn't always equal phones
And I'm just winding you up, Corrupt - you don't need to pay it attention
freedom's just a penumbra phantasm for big shots in the world revolving
WHEEZES
Thereās a freedom motif in this message somewhere
||That's the melody that plays when you choose the "Reach into the Bottomless Pit" option in Apotheosis||
Oh speaking of this I'm still a tad disappointed they have straight up modern thing without even a fantasy touch like just irl chainsaws and PVC suitcases
Reach into the bottomless pit that is my steam library fr
the chainsaws are just dumb tbh
reach into the bottomless pit and you get a panic zealot
Tbf, how would you develop a non magical chainsaw
Like, they havenāt actually changed all that much since conception
chainsaws probably should just not exist
They changed a bit ? My main gripe is it all looks so normal you even got regular workers in overalls and hard hat it's like when they added straight up forklifts in the avatar comics
Theyāre just easier to use axes, though. Maybe change the hilt design from being yellow, since most of them had a metallic exterior with zero coating
Aren't chainsaws like. Kinda ancient
I'm just gonna go with the logic this is the better version of corkus
Like, the first ārealā chainsaw (not a hand crank with a chain on it) basically just looks like a horrifying amalgam version of the modern design
think they're from like the 1800s
1700s
And, yeah, 1758
yeah
Scotland, I believe they originated?
It's about right for them to have em
Donāt actually know where they first started being āmanufacturedā
Yeah but they looked like this
if there's any technology in fruma to feel like it's clashing in style it would be the vending machines imo
I see what you mean, but thatās, like, prehistoric in comparison to what was actually manufactured and used back then
This is one of the first recovered models
Oh yeah chainsaws were my first example the biggest offender to me is the PVC suitcase š
That's fair honestly there ain't many ways to reinvent the chainsaw
oh yeah that too
that suitcase was like
Where did I read this, I might just be speaking out of my ass rn
the pvc suitcase just is a level of stupid i completely ignored this
the suitcase is the biggest sore thumb
wasn't that like the hotel part
oh that one yeah
the tetris puzzle
purely mechanical vending machine?
Oh, lmao, the suitcase on the train. I didnāt even clock that it wasnāt just a big leather bag
When were carbonated sodas added to cans?
I remember now going "nope not questioning this one"
then got WAY too in to tetris
Honestly if they looked more line the jukeboxes it might be better
recently, surely
Thatās a 20th century thing, I believe
fruma i genuinely just think went "let's go modern"
They were glass since the 1850ās?
and i don't know how i feel about it
I actually donāt know when the first soda was commercially sold
maybe someones blessing was to carbonate drinks
dang
Still, a reasonable time frame
yeah
1700s if we're going off bottles
Yeah this feels a lot worse than the chainsaws
That's not a bad idea in theory and for the most part it's executed well enough but there are a few parts that feel like they did not think that world building through xd
Given Frumaās IA and the stretch of 120 years, I can safely believe this to be possible
yep
CORKUS doesn't have canning
honestly the vending machine itself was questionable
Corkus is too busy making butler bots and AI girlfriends to care about real inventions
Corkus doesn't have a lot of stuff
LOL
that's so true of them
Like, as far as the everyday life is concerned is Corku really more advanced than gavel ?
Corkus needed a third belt buckle and decorative gear factory, they do NOT have time for preservation techniques!!!
Their entire manufacturing ring was seized by a (noticeably not feminine) Anti
remember llevigar's power comes from corkus engineers
I think it does anyway.. electromagic is involved
it is corkian yes
don't care looks feminine enough
And, funnily enough, itās failing! Like a lot of the Corkus shit we see in game lmao
tbf that's not corkus's fault
who accounts for dernic parasites
And that's weird cause it looks like they didn't even do that for corkus city ?
Does Corkus feel on the same level as llevigar
Corkus city
They're smarter than that, they know their own limits
how many corkian drills are spread around in quests
I suppose the Llevigar one can get a pass, but all their drills? They should just straight up close that section of manufacturing
I think we have 4 instances of a drill failing made by Corkus
and that's after we go and fix the wiring
one of those is defintely just not corkus's fault but yeah
Do they export anything else š
still a few times of like how
fliers for legendary island
also bread
Also, the Corkus shmorkus markus housing complex in Nemract?
They need to stop adding useless gears to stuff and start optimizing their wiring
to be fair, that'd be fun
does corkus actually ever do anything right?
Oh all those new liquid emerald makers that are in every bank now
āWhere tf is the fridge I havenāt eaten in 8 daysā
Oh, really?
the only good thing they did, is melt emeralds
I never clocked that, tbh
Actually corkus is peak they're the reason we can get croaquin to drink liquid emeralds
kind of a new lore tidbit tbh
Is that only environmental storytelling?
Did they update some lore in Markus Corkusās library?
i'm honestly surprised corkus has so little to do with fruma
yep
like outside of what? 1 secret discovery?
I was disappointed there was not a Corkus report / surveillance book hidden somewhere in fruma
Tbf, it is the most hilarious SD in the game
āWe will build a great provinceā had me so happy
... not wrong still disappointing but not wrong
john corkus
even fruma doesn't care about them
I'm still wondering about that implications that the queen probably let them go
Also, I love how all the Corkus settlers have the noisy generic skin textures
"not worth it"
oh no, they probably sent inquisitors to corkus to wipe fruma info off of them
Well, why would it be important?
They're scientists - they were quick to disregard their culture in favour of the technological advancements (however stilted due to the fact moving out of the technology country to the magic-primarily land means you just sort of stagnate into how they're steampunk) - not only that but Fruma is a major stain that they do not want to be relevant in any historical way - Fruma to them would be a plague, a hell.
Corkian's are also lowkey just the British anyways so they're lame af give the Natives the land my guys
I think itās cause they couldnāt really get that far, considering the stretch Two has with inquisitors. And, by the time they sent someone to go handle it, they noticed electromagic, maybe
and honestly no one takes corkus seriously really
outside of those who cares about electromagic
I wouldnāt, theyāve been fumbling their bags nonstop
A lot of Wynn settlements know Corkians as scammers, too
Funnily enough that would be fruma
Soosu would call that shit lame
xD yeah ok but i mean like anyone who is actually knowledgeable of the wider world and actively cares to interact
But Fruma is invested in information for it's own advancements, yeah.
You think corruption fucks up electromagic robots?
"Would be of interest to sovereign S."
soosu has the cooler powers to be fair
They had actual artificial intelligence something soosu's been struggling with
i mean her creations were like what? six year olds mentally?
I think her AI is biological based though, she wanted to create an organic friend and primarily used dirt n' shit.
I think you could convince her with Corkian AI though.
i know they were more like pets than actual people
She really wanted them to be people though, she became too important too early in her life when she should have just been making friends.
:( Soosu lives matter
oh yeah no soosu just got the worst fate
eternal life at an age you REALLY dont want that
Antithekara might fit that description, unfortunate that we destroyed it
Emphasis on might
i wonder if hunter's calling is canon on that part of she had backups
Probably not but of they ever want to come back and expand that plotline that's a threat they can pull
Anithekara lives matter too I also would hate everyone I was around because they were being annoying and awful
(I don't remember much about Anithekara other than liking every line from them in the factory)
i could also see the backups exist but they put her at a level of threat by the time she becomes an actual threat again corkus is too far advanced
I dunno Corkus is weird !!!!
I'm very excited for Wastelands though - That means we'll see the prison!
I wonder if it'll still be super functional or if it'll go on lockdown after the whole Monarch is Down stuff.
I can imagine a Military control sort of scenario where they act as the primary authority in response to her death
anithekara is okay I guess. It's a very well written glados parody, but it's still a glados parody and not much else, so I never warmed up to them
I suppose I'm biased in that I love Glados types - I'm just a big fan of villain's in general, can't get enough of 'em.
Nothing better than a mean villain.
But I understand, completely.
ok what i get from sovereign two, both orphion and dernic beast are just basically the same coin but two opposites
both will gladly destroy anything in their way solely to get their influence, orphion just prefers manipulation while dern beast is just destroy
is there anyone that tried to translate the "ancient" language?
It's more parallel that actual opposite
they both can manipulate and destroy in certain extend
I meant the Wynnic
that has been done ages ago i think
it's just a simple letter by letter encryption
but it's more orphion prefers mentally
or manipulation
mhm??
we have the obsessor in SE
if you ask me it sound like those people got really mentally manipulated to be obsessor
obsessor is a life form i thought
Lucio is one
when he got captured by one
not a life form but kind of what happen when you lost your mind to Dark i think
no i mean the obsessor itself is a life form
your sentence is not making sense
it is a lifeform yes of course because it's the people that got obsessed with dark
can you elaborate that further
Bro is standing here like nothing happened š„
more like imagine a slime
and it's using the people it absorbs
more like abandoned selvut lore
(he had some really dark lore for the obsessor stuff)
i mean if it is a slime, then it's still is manipulation, a bit more forceful than the usual kind for sure
best way to put it, the tar in a journey further you parkour over, that's obsessor in the selvut lore xD
and if you touch it you do need to amputate (and also why lucio and the other obsessor are keeping you close when they attack you)
It's kinda neat that we don't get the same fate when we interact with an obsessor ourself and touched it
i think that's gameplay over actual immunity
the fake player fun event i mean
i.e the player does that hitless
the fake player fun event
i honestly don't think the player's dumb enough to lore wise fall for it. they'd see an adventurer and go "nope"
when you're around lutho or SE in general there would be a player that ask to trade with you and when you agree they will literally turn out to be an obsessor and deal like dmg to 99% health
in a scenario where you actually fall for it you'd still survive then
it's not the matter of falling for it or not xd
player's Character is just built different
while this is probably true, i should note that their relationship is more complicated than that. in her postraid dialogue, anathema says "I could never... coax fondness... out of her. Not after... what I had done." about two
im all in Anathema and Two mother daughter relationship
Considering what Ana did to Twoās people, and that Twoāfrom what I can assume, given her backstoryādid not want to take her path (though likely believed it to be the most effective way of actually solving the problem), I donāt doubt that Two and Ana have a very professional, yet stern relationship
Although, maybe more will be revealed as to just what it was like to face off against the Queen, before the Royal Age, once we translate the mythic cutscenes fully
Iām more specifically interested in Architect
Oh absolutely - I'm being very disgenerous with my comments - Two and Anathema clearly have a strained relationship that happened from a catalyst event - Two isn't someone who is immune to understanding Anathema's care and ability to be someone who wants to socialize I imagine but Two is someone that is willing to hold to the fact something happened that we are currently unaware of that Anathema is kind of at a point in her life that she couldn't and can't really fix without dismantling a lot of the mindsets and choices she's hard dedicated herself into.
It's a bit sad, I see a lot of a friendship that won't come back between the two without change so monumental that I don't believe Anathema has the power in her to face.
And Two is aware.
It's why Two is my favourite at the moment, Two is someone who remembers and knows layers above Anathema because Anathema has the unfortunate fact she was born with a lot of caveats to her ability to feel safe and capable at having a 'normal' life and Two was (as we know) just someone who could have been a normal ass person that happendstanced being friends with a bug from another dimension.
Anathema isn't going to leave what she made (both literally and figuratively) because in all fairness she believes herself to be the sole source of any balance from the two losers fighting outside (Orphion and Saphanis) like a bickering old couple with a very messy divorce.
And I think Two and Anathema's relationship is one of the more interesting things, not because of the fact it's clearly one from Pre-Anathema Fruma 'Oh it's so cool how Two is lore-relevant' things but it's one that it's so obviously Anathema's fault for ruining a legitimate relationship with, she did something, she did something that Two most defintely spoke exactly about her stance and opinion and standards and beliefs on but Anathema is coincidentally also a big mess who makes some very, very big mistakes because of her very, very large amount of power politically and magically (and the grance importance she puts on the fact she is trying to balance a never-ending storm which is the one thing she learnt to do best to her own fault, she's very good at keeping things in a state of never having a conclusion both outside and in her own damn kingdom and that's something she never was going to get the chance to work on, it's sad, I would have been friends with her.)
You guys know more than I - My interpretations aren't going to be exact and I'm sure there's some more in the works but I am invested into at least seeing some of the old dusty sparks they probably had between each other - Bak'al was a messy start to Anathema's social life after finally getting out of her hell and that defientely didn't help in the long run for maintaining healthy anything else.
Anathema needed therapy, unfortunately she lives in the magic world where purple and yellow magic fight each other and they were going to wipe the whole planet out before therapy could exist in the continents.
I genuienly believe if Anathema was given the option to have the relationship be fixed she would choose it - the problem is, is it fixing it through time travel or fixing it through the effort she needs to actually put into things that were her fault?
Wait can it?
yusanu said it could close the rifts opened by anathema
so it could probably also close portals
cuz we don't know how to
Oh ok
we need somebody more knowledgable with runes
to know how to use the weaver effectively
Itās a reverse Cataclysm
Iām still of the theory that Olm are Dern natives
I canāt wait for me to get vindicated if that gets confirmed
If I were to make my own version of Bloomi itās actually going to be really difficult deciding what level range itās going to be
I assume Wynncraft wonāt allow overbloat of quest content per chapter right
I figure that given Saphanis closed the Dern Portal after we kill the Eye, the Resonance Weaver is how it's forced open again.
I figure the next steps of the story are probably like, heading off to the Wasteland to do a few ambiguous things + general Fruma Epilogue, that's the Butterfly Effect - looking at the consequences of our actions and next steps. Afterwards, with the Resonance Weaver fully complete and Fruma not on the brink of civil war, it's heading into Dern with Two, Tasim, and maybe someone else.
Qira would be fun
we don't even know what the weight is
though my theory is that its Bob
if Tasim could become a sovereign then Bob can work for the darkness
but Anathema said that the darkness has had this added weight for the better part of two decades
guess who has been missing for 15 years
Bob
it would only make sense
Anathema said the better part of two decades
saving private Bob and Lari
yes
majin being so cosmic was almost creepy.
she could stand to have a visit with dr picard lmai
lmao
Naaaaah he's just gay and extra as shit.
He's literally got Peacock motifs which is both a very FLAUNTY way of showing that he's fruity (and rich) as shit.
Also Peacock's are an old gay term for an 'Old Queen' and if we're honest, Majin is up there - it doesn't surprise me that he's also out there having a pocket space dimension with literal rainbow anime attacks
to be fair he has the coolest and most telegraphed attacks
Dr Picard š¬
Lowkey forgot the entire original crew barring the one super into the soldier guy that got roomed with him in prologue
yes
I appreciate you calling what I said out - I really should have been far more caring about presenting my thoughts on the Two/Anathema dynamic and your callout did give me a really good chance to actually parse through my real thoughts on them through the post above.
I will say given I have the organic chance to; Fruma is a clear showcase of a maturity of growth within the writing, music and designing team and I have never felt a collective sense of simultaneous skillsets being at the exact same level of understanding the picture that they wanted to present than this - I'm not too tuned into the surrounding continents too much just because I've seen a lot of it before (which isn't a bad thing in the slightest, I'm a sucker for a fantasy world actually) but Fruma caters to a very specific level of taste I have that I have come to greatly love.
I can't actually go around DMing and messaging fifty content team members, that'd be weird and I already did that for Texilated and LuxioCat with deep discomfort but being able to actually talk about Fruma and it's hierarchy structure has been the most growth in my own writing that I've had in my life - you guys invented something that used everything you had around it perfectly making any sour point I could have had with the world add to Fruma itself.
This was an excellent piece of art, and there's still more to come.
It's not often I feel like I am a part of a world in writing just due to self-awareness of whether the characters feel real or the world feels real and while I'm not going to say I love every character ever on the planet I will say that they feel like people that believe in the organisations they're with and that's integral to my care for believing a world like Fruma can exist.
And it can - Fruma is a real, genuine place I could think could be a reality.
Whoever decided a Rubber Tree network was wild - just a random hatpick.
honestly the player being able to keep seeing tasim as a friend, is actually the sweetest
I forgot to reply to this with the fact Hyloch's song is called 'Ignorance is Bliss' and that's a really good point to bring up.
Has anyone paid notice to the āCorruptionā leitmotif? Or just the āwarā motif.
Itās the motif that plays for the intro of Anni (The messed up jingle), and itās also audible in the background of the Wartorn Palace raid, during the interlude sections
Makes you wonder if the motif appears anywhere else?
Are there seperate cuts of the different leitmotifs in the game?
Unrelated but, you think that the player character unintentionally speaks visions of the past in their sleep and the resistance members hear it? (Since from a few other side quests, most notably Off the Rails, the player mumbles in their sleep?)
The Player probably mumbles about their adventures throughout the Wynn and Gavel province
Our memories seem long gone by now
Weāre⦠Special.
"no drale don't turn me into a cow again"
zzzz canned abis
zzzzzzz
Rex about to wake the player character up:
"drale come back"
Rex after accidentally waking the player up when theyāre dreaming about Orphionās Nexus Of Light: š„
-# Please it was just a spell misfire
ngl I read this as the player just accidentally blinding Rex with light lmao
I had a gif for this but I was worried itād actually blind some people LOL
Imagine dreaming about nameless anomaly
Also it's kinda funny to think if only after arriving into Fruma the Player actually gets to sleep, no knock outs included
Well, more than anywhere else I mean
we have to blend in
Is there filler for how the events "The missing piece" lead to what happens in the main storyline
no becuase it a side quest
such an unnecessarily long quest
pmo so much
why they make me do so much for some shitty ass xp
Didn't the inquisitors come to arrest sandra what happened
they come to investigate
also why is sandra still young in main storyline compared to her "partner"
sandra
also it's literally story to expand on Syndra backstory
u cant even remember her name gg
because uh
uhhh
uhhh They really wanna reference howl's moving castle
either that or Syndra just really into older women
but if you want answer that make sense lore wise
Syndra really into older women
I thought it was because Syndra was dipping in the fountain with the Queen
how is sandra not in prison
She died
ye she died but I mean in "The missing piece"

One of the flashbacks was to years ago when they came to arrest sandra
you ltierally meet her in mutiple quest before missing piece šš
She didnāt do anything āillegalā, really. She just got demoted real bad
did oyu do EoC
because EoC explain a lot from Syndra side
okay so
Syndra simply just disobey order
she is not arrested
just strip off her rank and title
and send to Auburn as some sort of exile
which later she would be tasked by Zhiraok to infliterate the rebel group there
and boom that how Syndra become what she is
oh yeah I remember that agreement with zhiraok
yeah
she work there
she did not arrest Elise
so to keep synda backstory short
Syndra was a roughwork worker
then get transfer somewhere else
ye ik allat
later she become soldier for the crown and climb the rank to be a wing member
later she go assign to arrest her lover which is Elise
why the guards come for her in the first place in "the missing piece"
this is a test of loaylty that Syndra failed
because they want to bring her to the citadel
missed the part where she had to arrest elise
to be strip off her rank
this explain in EoC
how tf was I supposed to remember and connect that
she said that she would be send off to al ot of assignment after Seilum gone
I
You read and connect the dots
guess I'm not a good reader then
yeah
i mean you did mess up the easiest name in fruma
sendra sandra syntra idgaf
So soverign zero
my anem is "superpower1997" idgaf bout names brother
basically the queen want to test Syndra to see if she is candidate to be soerign of auburn forest after Selium die
(its pronounced Zee rok right and not zero)
What is the lore behind housing islands
who tf is selium
a past soverign of auburn forest before Zhiraok
he just background lore thing
it not that importnat
he got mention then and there
did they talk about this dude a lot
sheer-oak but the sh- being like jean
how they supposed to random mention some ppl and you just supposed to pick up and make sense of it
maths is ezier than this dawg
i ain't tryna be a detective playing and enjyoing the game
i remember some NPC saying that or am I insane
when did you have to know Selium???
never
I dont get what you trying to complain here
I just mentioning name to tell the story
You like finding the equations of ellipses?
shits easier highkey
this is basic world building thing
shits at least step by step and not out of order
they just mentioning random character name to give impression there are more going on behind the scene and before you acme
it make the world more realistic
ye ig
because obviously before Zhiraok, there woul be someone else take in charge
lore mfs are too smart
