anyway my thoughts on the corruption is that the db is trying to use it as a tie-breaker. bak'al is a fairly unprecedented being, someone it can negotiate with. db vs orphion is ALWAYS a equal battle (yknow overall, we are playing in a time where the db is dominant). so normally noone could win.... but if he can get the corruption (which may be gaining influence as a sortta 'child' to light and dark or smth) to ally with him, he basically wins the game.

The character in question is a major antagonist for whatever plot they're a part of in Hidden Side
But it's sorta like, a companion antagonist
We get captured by their minions and this character basically appears and is curious at what we are
They're technically against us and a villain but keeps us alive to get use out of us for smth
So basically they serve as both the antagonist and the companion NPC for the story
Or like, companion for the first half of it
We get a far friendlier companion after but that's not relevant right now

while I dont completely want to throw out the notion of that theory completely
I do see it in negative light due to the fact that not onyl giving player concrete origin and one such as being soverign would destroy a lot of creativitgy and freedom of expression in people creating their OCs and able to act as them to make their playthrough feel immersive
it also simply the fact that literally beside one quest that arguably also can be use as another evidence of player being blank slate
that like at level 25
there just not much hint player being something concrete
so when it revela now in Fruma, it going to feel like a shock value writing rather than a geniune reframe in the story
it going to be similar to Aledar story where they messed up on the fact that they rush to the ending instead of building him up properly
so now his entire story got impacted by the bludner because we all know that he going to die which affected his apperance in early quest onward beccause it like knowing the spoiler already

Based on how Lari was ignoring Dullahanās pleas to kill the creature, I assumed that Orphion had tried countless times to tell her that itās okay to kill things that are attacking you. And she was just too stubborn or thought it was a ātestā of his.
I would be very shocked if Orphion didnāt say or try to say anything to Lari after her first encounter with the parasite.

I also wanted to add that the rest of the elves are basically dead to Orphion ever since they misinterpreted what he showed them and chopped down the tree guardian.
Basically Orphion for hundreds of years has been dealing with elves that donāt listen or misunderstand what he says, and because of this, have caused untold misery and suffering. So I donāt blame him for giving up on them and not finding a suitable replacement to save him.

I think part of it is that he tries to come across as morally gray, when he was also the one that supposedly told the elves to be absolute pacifists. Maybe he just changed his beliefs then after what happened with the parasite?
But even throughout the quest line we still help him unconditionally and he never betrays us. Plus without him Gavel would be truly worse off.
