If you wanted the corniest rol storyline
This is the only guy
so it kinda like trying to ask "what make an artist" when you have no context of what art is
RoL with Wynnston from Fallen Factory?
Sure why not
Probably does better job
literally anyone with functional brain probably could do better job than Orphion
yknow what they say, dogs are the best judges of character
Except Orphion is not dog
Wynnston is
Wynnston is a robot
close enough
Just go with PIP
WAIT YES
Pip for new realmbeast
PIP
Dern Beast is
exist
only get briefly mention
every wynncraft villains are fuckin dog shit
like
Waiting for design release so I can complete my realmbeast collection
let's not kidding ourselves here, it just list of potential man
the only one that are not are just random ass mobs that serve their purpose enough
Qira
Yes I say this name solely just to piss you off
nice
I mean I cannot remember much of other notable boss
Other than
Bane of great bridge?
Can I even count that as a villain
Yeah
True
this shit is like grading a student that only show up for 1 day and gone for entire semester
instead of just straight up giving them F
the fact that Dern Beast literally has no direct involvement until SE
speak to how much it badly being build up
🤫
The first time you encountered dern is like rol
Or rather mentioning about it per se
I mean ROL is like
I dont think wynncraft even have an arch
like all villains die wayy too quickly or badly introduce
to see a clear arc in the story
Bak'al introduction
🙏
the way wynncraft set up villain like Bak'al
where he meant to be big bad that player cant fight it
kinda fuck over the story a bit because then player just essentially have no equal
until probably dern
and if we lucky Fruma
but Fruma likely change that
The thing is we have shit like bob to compare
As much as I love the early storyline, I think focusing on Infested pit is rather bad choice because now you essentially have big spider as the villain that barely get build up nor she ever can because she is too busy laying her spawns than to engage player outside the dungeon directly
And it just .make the notion "you cannot fight him" feels a bit jarring
Huh
Well shit got filtered 💔
only hope for early game rn is Charon to have more quest and more build up associate wit hhim
having entire early quest to be this "Charon Arc" would make the early story sound more engaging and player more familar with Wynn as a province
Charon
We might need a hint about bak'al from him too for that case
Has his ass popped out of rol5 is too funny
Also god forbid how can everyone making portals and teleportation so easily
Like what's the fucking point of realm portal atp can't we just make portal to everywhere
it is what it is
when you relying too much on shortcut in storytelling
even act of teleportation feel cheap and senseless
Also bak'al apparently can make portals
Everyone and their grandma can probably make portal in wynncraft if they try hard enough
if we take the game for granted, wynncraft universe probably function by duct tape
and everyone in the world too busy huffing glue and factory smoke
Fucking aledar can make portal
Ah yes please the fucking assassin making a portal
Ok but did you know who did not make a portal
The elf elders
I think the elves are the blacksheep
Also what the hell does elves in wynncraft actually do
the fact that aledar can come out of nowhere during the quest
kinda put into questiondoes the death in AJB is even that necessery
in the quest AJB
when yohu kill Mangled Progeny
Aledar would teleport out of nowhere to your location
despite we are deep in the root
Lmao
also this kinad like
make the entire section of getting the wing pointless
because it not even one person tp
like
it's actual portal that you the player can walk in to follow him back to Dren
like the distance from this portal
can go far from the deep of the root
to Dren's house
making it not only long distance portal
but also seeing the destination in person is not require
which put into question does the entire whole fetch quest
was necessery
cause it seems like Aledar could open portal to at lesat like
this is long distance between RoC and Dren's house(at Ternaves) btw
not counting ther fact we venture deep into the root for god know how deep it is
so this ability of Aledar where he capable of creating portal
that allow him to not only go to a location where he do not need to be there to see it himself
gone completely unused
resulting in the death of 2 party members
and the journey between it also result in fatally injured Aledar and result in him dying later
so they lose 3 members
because this ability that Aledar has that gone unmention
also yeah btw to make it worse, they been through SE enough to have map there
so there literally no reason for Aledar to not just use teleportation
Can we also put into the mix that Orphion could have defended themselves from the Parasite all this time? I mean I refuse to believe that those magical moves he does was from the Parasite knowing how to fight/defend itself using someone else. I mean, the evidence of Orphion taking the kill after FOUR players were spell casting the thing was already enough evidence.
TBH that more forgivable
because the parasite kinda designed to infect him
it like saying human being are weak for being infected with tapeworm
or saying human being are weak for dying to one shot from a gun
like yeah no shit dude that what it designed to do
haha dumb orphion
Should have put their skill points in Defense /j
fr
What if, instead of making it so that Orphion communicated idiotically and the elves cut it down, what if we rewrite it so that Orphion's smart but when the Villagers invaded the west of Gavel they didn't recognize Orphion and so cut it down just because they felt strong magic in the tree and wanted to use it for themselves
After all we know from D&D1 that the Villagers were originally in the Cinfras area and invaded the Canyon (A dwarf says "I think we outran the villagers"), so it isn't too far of a leap to say that the Villagers invaded an ancient Elf civilization that originally extended from Aldorei to at least the Taproot, plus also in the Gavellian Monarchy period the Villagers may have been more militaristic and xenophobic (as monarchies are, plus elves probably fall under the category of small-noses which Villagers famously don't like)
Then after invading the west Gavel forests and confining Elves to the Aldorei area, they'd probably have found the portal tree and cut it down either as an effort to raze the Elf civilization or to access the magic behind it
And of course after the revolution now the Villagers and Elves are at peace but Villagers and Elves are still no longer allowed in each other's territories
- Orphion is no longer an idiot, just crippled by the actions of selfish people who didn't listen to him
- The only major pieces of lore that needs rewriting is Aldorei's Secret Part II, Birth of Efilim, and Realm of Light III
- Also explains why besides Efilim there are no other Elf towns in the Light or Dark forests
SOMEBODY needs to spread christmas joy to the ancient ruins, and i dont see u doing it
*craftmas
We don’t use craftmas anymore
Craftmas is dead
craftmas is dead because a small amount of people do crafting
Craftmas is more dead because of blizzard festival wxist
And it exist back when wynncraft was more of Minecraft
Which is not much longwr
So craftmas is dead
ain't it supposed to be the capitalist merchant-filled town
ok damn I didn't know-
yeah all season event in wynncraft pretty much replace by festivals
whichi s like
hundred time cooler
and make more sense than
irl holiday but with craft at the end
What are you trying to say here?
Thank you for editing it xD
Yeah, I can see that. Goes well with the current world building of Wynncraft as well.
ok then where are the elf
at what period of time
you know the first guardian is kinda in elf's territory right
Yeah what I'm saying is that before 0 AP, Elves controlled most of western Gavel and so the Taproot, old Guardian, Light Portal, and Aldorei were all Elf territory
then between 0AP and the fall of the Gavellian monarchy the elves were confined to Aldorei
with finishing Light Bender character
I probably goiong to run the idea of light as religion basically following set of rule that allow one to transcend the mortal concept to be rebirth as part of the light
I don't think the elves would give up the tree guardian so easily
so stuff like pacifism came from the elves seeing violence as a mortal concept that they should reject in order to get closer to the Light
I mean the Poles didn't give up the Danzig Post Office easily either it's just that practically none of them got out alive
I really like the idea of religionous part of Aldorei are a bit seeprate from the elder
and since the Equinox, the elders would lose control and allowing the high preist to take more control over Aldorei, making the place become what it is which is religious extremist
and other side effect like Lari being indoctrinate to become pacifist
or well 38 were captured but they were all executed summarily shortly after
and 4 escaped
the elders would have their own body guard but the temple/church would have paladin
In any case this is after the core of the clearing this is the "counterinsurgency" phase in every genocidal war
so most of the people are probably unarmed
there would be some guards of course
in fact, most of them might even be praying for their survival as they get killed
I really want to explore more on the fucked up politic of aldorei
consider the disaster that is the Equinox pretty much fuck over their society a lot
honestly that did not protray quite well in the original quest as it more like dirty secrect that everyone kept somehow
so my take kinda try to make the immortality thing being gaslight by the religion group as another step for elves to get closer to the Light
in which the religions group would gain more power and control compare to the elders who are now stumbling to reform
and by the time they reform, the inexperience new elders would be psuh around by the more powerful and threatening religious group
which essentailly turn the entire situation into sunk cost fallacy as the elders aware of everything wrong with current Aldorei but unable to fix anything due to the fear of provoking the temple
maybe when I make quest rewrite of Aldorei's secrect would be more about the political infighting in the citadel
I think the only other thing is that RoL 3 doesn't work because Dullahan and Lari would be executed if found so the camp would have to be more hidden so the Geliborders wouldn't have found him
On the other hand, maybe they're originally fine with him since Dark Foresters don't seem to be the greatest fans of the Cinfras government
and they call the government only when they think he's behind the Decay
Elder Aledar?
wait thats Alder
im going insane
Astal?
Astal is pronouce different compare to Aledar lol
Alder and Aledar is like
very similar
oh you talking about the elves elders again
Elden Ring:
ah so I wasnt the only one
Ok, so I just reached the memory quest thing.. Are we all Criminals? And does the whole we have no memory to access ourself get explained?
fruman recruits are (so far) criminals from fruma that they decide to pack and deliever to Wynn as recruits
so yeah
the whole no memory thing likely just the writers wanting to leave room for players to intertreptate their own past
rather than giving concrete one
but again this might change in Fruma
but as of for now we dont really have evidence of player charcter actually being concrete character and not self insert
Interesting. I am assuming Fruma is an upcoming update? Just hopped back in after nearly 7 years and getting into the lore this time.
Ooh cool. OK ok, I need to not spoil myself, but more questions will come when I have them... like do we ever see the guy who got kidnapped by the spider squad in the woods again?
Solve in arachnid ascension
Good to know. Excited to see it.
not everyone completed all quests or in order
was doing undergrowth the other day and a level 105 had to do the whole quest
playing quests 10+ ahead before previous is strange, but i guess some players do do it
It's nothing wrong but simply odd
No Tasim isn't
but Aledar is
of course the assassin archetype is the criminal
Tasim is cirminal by the fact that he is curesed
so yeah to the Fruman he is in fact criminal and he selected to be send to Wynn as recruits
found this 'exit' door behind ternaves prison. other than allowing someone to get out, is there any lore implications about the prison. Always wondered what its for.
it probably some scrapped lore that Ct want to tell
but probably did not have time to add a nything
I highyl dbout it would match the recent lore but who know
i was doing research on it, found it was added in the gavel update
then yeah probably old stuff

yeah probably just old stuff
hello!!
but we could intrepret it
thats true
honestly I like the idea it being a prison before corruption war happen
ternaves so far in current lore is just a town
I highly dbout they would have anything to hide beside the mining
huh
oh trickster
pretty coo lI dont really play assassin myself
but I do think it funny sometime seeing like clone of people circling around
tbh when i think ternaves i just think horses
because that all its relevancy LOL
The only info we have is not many come to the prison
so liekly there taboo behind it
i mean theres that one quest and then its used in totl and jb
have you like made a trickster oc?
yep
ooo really??
a mech interesting!!!
trickster has some interesting ability names like soul siphon or toxic sludge
yeah some of the ability node cant be translate into mech concept
so sometime they left out or recontextualize
its still very cool, im just curious how tricksters can... siphon souls??
if you mean in canon then IDK LOL
trickster in actual game are base more on
Jester assassin from what I am seeing
like those archetype of character that mix the idea of medival jester and assassin together
ive never seen a jester siphon souls or clone themselves
trickster is using some evil magic im telling you!!
Cloning is more like
trickery illusion
trolling distraction or some sort
so it not literal clone
but more like illusion
as the name suggest
except those clones can actually hurt you and copy your spells
yeah that more for gameplay and also it nothing new that sometime media just protray illusion capable of harming other people
and does perfect replica of the user
what about like toxic sludge or like theres this ability about fire i think
deflagrate?
trickster has a lot of stuff
honestly again this is extremely up to personal intertreptation
but for me I think it just related to those like
trolling and stuff
it expanded from lauhging gas
if I were to guess
and the whole fire thing
Honestly fire thing is more gameplay
again elements is very weird when it come to archetype
as something like Fallen is Earth and Thunder despite being corruption themed
that often associate with fire
that is because Fallen meant to be damage archetype and so gameplay wise it benefit most from Earth and Thunder element
same as Trickster
Trickster is benefit more from being fire element due to it being more tanky variant of assassin
so it being fire related is likely solely from gameplay standpoint
Is the "being of power" that the Talking Mushroom refers to supposed to be the original Garoth from Lost Sanctuary
i always thought the being of power was referring to Anni, though that line couldve been written before Annihalation was added to the game
I mean Gyran says "in Elkurn" I thought that refers to Garoth originally living in Elkurn
god this dialogue is old
it's referencing the old caid duplication bug
i should probably get rid of it
oh boy not the old garoth lore
awaiting the day forgery gets put to rest so lost sanctuary goes completely away
garoth lore my beloved
i loved reading the wiki page on it so back in the day practically got me into that entire region
NOOOOO
just uh retcon it to referring to Garoth living in Elkurn
I can’t believe caid is trickster archetype
The sanc leggings won’t make a lot of sense but u can js rename them
The ele sanctum pieces
clock sanctum: win win
free my boy kronos he done nothing wrong
Which gender is Parasite?
why is this a question
the parasite is an it
it seems to do so asexually though so like not really
You mean laying eggs
Also parthenogenesis
I think also could fit theme since some irl parasites does this
E.g. liver fluke
"Why is it snowing in Detlas?"
Boring answer: Santa has the power to make it snow anywhere, made it snow in Detlas
Awesome answer: Theorick rises from the dead every year to give Detlas a snowy winter
Is not it related to Aster lore?
am unfamiliar with aster lore
Me too but it about Aster losing his brothers
And all of this festival stuff is a product of memory or something
my baby :(
but yeah you can tell its outdated cause you can literally see the fucking water relic shrine 😭
Sanctum Leggings instead of Sanctuary, should be fine ?
I do wonder where all the forgery loot will go if forgery gets removed
some of those items are popular favorites
the forgery as is is a weird thing to have in Gavel
why are corruption-based time space anomalies present in gavel
I could see the forgery getting thrown into the Temple of Time, though. use the various dungeon rewards like Charon's Brain or Redbeard's Hair on the altar to access the new corrupted dungeon
this may just be a desperate attempt from me to bring more content to the Temple of Time, though
forgery has too much tied to it to have everything thrown out. if it does get a rework and i do kinda hope it does eventually then itll need to be handled in such a way that the rewards wont become inaccessible or rollable
What's the problem with having each dungeon have its own secret which teleports you to the corrupted version
Instead of forgery
that used to be how it was before forgery existed and it confused the shit outta new players who stumbled into them
maybe lock behind completing the original dungeon and also have a warning in the secret room
statement stands
what about a quest req which takes you to a heavily corrupted version of wynn where corruption won and which explains the corrupted dungeons as the dungeons in that alternate reality or smth idk
every 2016 quest suggestion ever
future selchar :supershock:
besides hunters calling already shows that
unfortunate
Wait what
When was this, I do not remember that being a concept
there used to be side entrances with every dungeon that had a corrupted dungeon with a level warning in front of them that you had to take to go to the corrupted dungeon, before the forgery consolidated it all and put the entrances up next to the key forge. it used to just be the key forge
Oh right right
I completely forgot about that
I only distinctly remember CDS, but I assume because that was basically the only one until around 1.15
I think they got consolidated when corrupted ice barrows was released.
I miss that, it was absolute cinema
although if you'd want to do a bunch of different ones then it would suck travelling all over the place lol
Tbh while corrupted dungeon sound cool in concept
Having content revolve around playing these dungeons back to back
Definitely get fucking stale and make corruption visual just shit to look at
Like I know thst the point but when the content design for you to keep looking at it for long period of time
Yeah it kinda lost it novelty
It like having gorey image to disturb you which is the point and then force the viewer to keep staring at different variation of it for like 1 hour at max
I do some forgery run and all I remember is color red
To comment on this: the corruption visuals do look shit for like 6/8 of the corrupted dungeons. They’re just not all that good builds
Like modern corruption build probably look great if it got updated to the dungeon
But I don’t think that fix the problem of corrupted dungeon visual
Like corrupted dungeon idea could be a good take on harder version of the dungeon but not
Back to back
If you know what I mean
Like it fine if each dungeon is something you do on it own
But not like fucking 8 dungeons in the row
So if forgery update, I feel like it gotta choose if it want to be harder version of existing dungeon or a gauntlet
I get what you’re saying, but I think this concept can be easily remedied of that problem by just making the corrupted builds distinct enough. For example, look at TNA. Very repeatable content. It has a very distinct design, and doesn’t deviate from that style at all, but it’s very enticing and engaging to look at everything that’s involved. If every dungeon got that kind of treatment, while still maintaining the core design of corruption’s color schemes, I think it’d be manageable
one really long dungeon with randomized rooms that gets has higher max length the higher a level you are and has higher level mobs the deeper you go in
and it looks like bits and pieces of the other dungeons
This, too, forgery has just always been a very dated concept, in general
Even when it was updated for 1.20, it felt out of date
Ive stood by this sentiment for a while
forgery don't even have reskins of the new dungeon bosses, it has reskins of the old ones still lol
no second chance mechanic either, despite the fact FF and EO have them
Tbh if I were to remake the dungeon, I kinda want corrupted dungeon to be its own thing and forgery its own thing
That’s a different case entirely, but yeah, it’s even more dated now than ever
Cause my idea for remake dungeon is to make interacting with dungeon master habe you open a gui
give forgery a timelost sanctum vibe instead ig
make the time jumping thing make more sense
And you can spend rune to turn the dungeon into corrupted version
Dungeons are one of, if not the oldest system in Wynn rn, if I’m not mistaken. They have had zero changes, besides updating the dungeon itself to look nicer/be harder. A potential repeat of 1.14.2 with a reworked dungeon’s UI, concept, and design in general would be wonderful
Maybe if forgery dropped the corruption theme and instead became yet another silverbull outlet
🌸: “that’s a wonderful idea!”
they already have raids and lootruns what more could they want
conspiracy theory time that there's a secret 4th realm: the realm of money
They already did that with Gavel
if silverbull was tied to JUST the store and cosmetics and whatnot I'd have like no complaints about it almost
(given it also staying in its lane)
yes and now they're moving onto wynn
wynnex style
there is a yellow flower emote in default emote list
I did not know that 😔
I can barely tell, my phone screen is super desaturated and grey
☘️: 🥶
"tries to cry but has no eyes"
UT Yellow was such a gem
it was
TS!Underswap is also such a hella fan game, and I’m super excited for the rest of it
Deltarune got over 70 play sessions out of me this year, and I couldn’t be more hyped for this shit
UTY was the only UT fangame to ever get my attention
I still stand the fact that dungeon should be more open up and explorable
Rather than extremely linear progression
that would def be cool yeah
Like benefit of this is
Allow dungeon to have bit more replayability
Allow some dungeon to be more intresting
Also habe option for lore to be hidden too
very friendly person
Cause god some dungeon boss need more
I think I like the idea behind the linearity of it, but there being options for alternative pathing, exploration, lore, and secrets would be amazing
where villagers come from?
Yeah ofc there should be one main path
But give player option to explore would be nice for many thing
I mean. Timelost Sanctum
make each dungeon get more complex
decrepit sewers only gets like 1 offshoot path and that's it
but by the time you get to GG you have all these underwater tunnels to explore
Dungeon js lesser raid in every way possible
TLS remains my favorite dungeon, idc what anyone thinks
TLS is peak
SST is also nice, but only because of the parkour
it's not linear for one
The p in peak stands for perfect dungeon
TLS is interesting
it's really nice for me because it gives some nice options to pick what you want easiest and hardest
also in terms of early game balancing, boss altars are far harder than dungeon bosses and whatnot lol
same build I had that could to jack to Haros melted Charon in like 10s at lvl 29
like obv there should be a difference but I think this is a little much
Charon isn’t scaled, for one, so that might be why
Also they’re bugged
Boss altars scale?
No, they don’t, I meant Charon’s HP isn’t updated to 2.1 standard
oh so he's way tankier than he's supposed to be rn
Nah, actually way weaker
dang
I think I'm selling tbh on all my classes I can do all the normal dungeons with like zero effort
then Eldritch Outlook is :bartek:
most dungeons are really easy going back and leveling another character for the first time in like a year, but most boss altars are still really hard
You is sellin if you’re dying to The Cry!
boss altars are nuts
The Eye? More like The Piece of Pie
playing trickster, like 1 single burst is usually enough to blitz a dungeon boss lol
sometimes when I'm underleveled 2-3
The Passage sucked tbh but mostly because I have terrible crowd control stuff and the guy heals
well I also have like a level 78 build
Ngl I really want to update Theorick to be more like gywn lord of cinder from dark soul
Basically every dungeon boss, besides Theorick, Slykaar, Witherhead, and Arak, are all super weak for their level.
I thjnk at best Theorick shoulder habe tradegy behind his dungeon
Witherhead is actually kinda weak, too, but that’s okay cause baby boss
Witherhead is also kinda weak for its level
yeah
at level it deals no damage
Like the dungeon itself building hype for him where you can see corruption being frozen over and and the spike just stop in its tracks
deleted witherhead too
arak put up slightly more of a fight but wasn't that hard either
If you ain’t running The Eye with Witherhead’s bow and Tsanc, is you even playing
then bovine barn actually took like 2 attempts and a couple minutes, and Haros was bad enough I straight up had to leave and come back when I was almost level 30
Haros is definitely up there, now, as goated bosses. And durum remains my absolute favorite boss in the game
Just on its placement and level cap alone
side note
Bamboozle on its own is stronk early game
if you take double slice instead of poisoned blade, you can put off getting smoke bomb for a while and save on AP early game at the cost of that spell
Lemme think what actually is my favorite boss
You know the Strats, mg
However, I still think early game shade is one of the better options for durum
if you bamboozle tp through a boss, then you notice a lot of the new ones have a turn speed kinda and they can't turn around fast enough to catch up to you easily
slightly broken but also completely trickster coded lol
a whole second agro break thing, albeit a weaker one... that also procs as you do a hefty 350% damage in the early game
tbh I liked Fully Formed Amadel and Alkevo
but my favorite is probably the Canary that was a fun bossfight
Weird
Fun
Garaheth was fun too
idk I have trouble reading some of the blocky animations sometimes
a lot of bosses are samey to me, hard to predict even what the newer ones with better telegraphs are doing
Man I am so conflicting between making siege idea or dungeon rework idea
Siege idea rn I am at trying to make quest for it
Idk if it should be in Troms or Detlas
no, he just has health for a boss five levels weaker than he actually is according to the stat sheet
he's lv 35 but has health like a lv 30 boss
I see, I assumed it just got left behind because of how low the disparity is
siege?
Ig same poop different butt, but
Charon really REALLY needs a health buff. Like, bad
are we talking 3shotable 2shotable or 1shotable
Like at level assassin in leaf gear can 2-3 shot
:yay:
Again, UC and CUC are the new worst dungeons in the game
if I were to buff his health he would have a little over 15k
the problem is he doesn't do anything, more than anything else
i can't remember what damage I do at level whatever that is
That is also an issue
the script spells which weren't ever any good anyway broke, so he just kinda floats towards you doing the simplest possible spell combos ever
how much health does he have
~10.5k
rip him
this is just every earlygame dungeon tho
Charon needs a level buff, if the issue is level to health conversions
well, you go in at Lv 21 or 24
Because, unless he gets some kind of crazy new kit, the spells he has anyway make it impossible for him to do any of it
what if you just revert it to general graken spam instead tho
I think Charon fits as an exception, but that would follow with a rework, if it ever did get a unique, high level
is the script stuff also busted for the corrupted dungeon, out of curiosity
Yes
Charon currently doesn’t do anything ever
yeah figured
(It’s hard to even tell it’s broken, though, because you just melt the boss anyways
)
Call this shit rubbish cause what a dump
so all he does is lazily toss out the occasional meteor or multihit
If he can even get that off
I already had a gigantic thread a couple years ago about all my gripes so I won't go into em here but suffice to say the script spells are just. not fun or interesting and prevented anything to do with YML spells
It spawned zombies, I recall, but that was it
It was the only spell that gave it a chance at survival, because it made him invulnerable or something
I mean it doesn't really matter how unfun his spells are tbh
he just kinda dies before he can use them tbh
Really want to capture the tone of Wynn province with siege game mode tbh
The idea of fighting horde of undead with shit being throw around
Also writing quest to serve as tutorial for it
Honestly probably try to justify player being a soldier in this quest by contextualize siege as their job
the trouble with adjusting charon rn is just that focus is elsewhere. I won't say what they are but I have heard rumblings of ideas for a rework and I wouldn't want to put in a bunch of work to moveset him up only to have that interfere with whatever may have been planned. just adding in yml spells like a couple years ago would 100% have people balk, even though I have a design just in waiting that I made as a counter-offer to the scriptified version, and to add to all that with the focus being on Fruma right now I bet I'd get some raised eyebrows to put my focus there too.
Scary skeletons
Charon has potential
Ngl I hope they dedicate entire early game arc to him as the villain
Because out of every villain he js like only corrupted villain we have that could be expand
bacon
Charon just in position to be main villain in the early game
We even have hint of thst in elemental excercise
If only they remake morr quest to build up Charon more
Like fighting his forces more
Quest like lava spring and more could use it
my eyerbrows would be raised :)
Charon problem come in the fact he seems like an important figure
But in actual game he is more obstacle for the player rather than being actual main stay villain
He is the villain of someone elses(Graken's) story. (I am yapping don't listen to me)
Tbh lost tower should be remade into more charon/UC/ancient nemract lore
Lost tower definitely one
Tbh I would say that house quest should too
I think it really funny that some poor Nemract citizen would pay corkian to design their house
Instead of like
Moving out of Nemract
like there probably some fucking guy coming out of the wood to say that dwelling wall should be kept as a wuest
But like I don’t really care I think it could get wipe for another Charon quest
Pit of the dead could get treatment too
Lost tower, pit of the dead, dwelling wall could get lootrun update treatment to be a long questlinw rhat conclude in dark descendent
There also like probably other quest that could go in between
dwelling walls is peak but lost tower and pit of the dead are uhh. Barely quests
If lost tower and pit of the dead get remake and it not enough to refine Charon as character
then I feel like Dwelling walls could also add in
it just my problem with dwelling wall is that the puzzle that is its main focus is not worth the entire quest
even then it just one of those joke-y quest that probably could be replace for something more
wynncraft alreayd fast pace in its story that I feel like every joke focus quest feel like a waste
this would not be a problem if wynncraft are more slower pace
but too bad we are in like the early game where the player blink once and they already at nemract the moment they start the game
idk what dwelling walls thematically would add. I don't think you can rework dwelling walls to refine charon lore you can just remove it and add another Quest in it's slot at which point you could also add a new Quest
yeah that basically what I am saying LMAO just get rid of dwelling walls for something else
and have dwelling walls puzzle in like
something IDK
why are you trying to get rid of dwelling walls for it? there is no point in that
it is an entirely unrelated Quest
I just under impression IF new quests cant be added
because the early game is fast already at it is, adding another quest just make it worse because player would gain EXP faster than they should
but hey if new quests could be added then that fine
generally Quest amount I think is more about content density around the map than amount
I mean yeah tbh I wish early game is more slower because literally wynncraft progression just so fast
I think one of the highlight to the problem is that like the moment you arrive in Ragni, Tasim already nudging you to leave it by saying he waiting at Nivla Forest LOL
I think all that is by design but that is broader game design that I am not entirely certain about
it definitely by design but at the same time it also just make attachment to places feel very lacking
I just think it just stem from problem since wynncraft first its development
because back in the day there never really consider for lore and wynncraft is just a minecraft server that solely and purely there for gameplay
so places like Ragni are not really view as actual palce that exist in alternative realtiy but rather just starting place for the player
I'm pretty sure the point is to get the player out there. Prevent them getting stuck in Ragni and point them to get out there and explore the world
so there not really much consideration or care(again why would they cause it just a place in game) which then kinda domino effect into early game being so fast that player does not form attatchment to these area
It is but it also kinda fucked up with the current preimise of the story which I mention before
thing just go too fast
early game being fast is also meant to make the player feel like they are making progress so they see more of the game quickly and not let them get bored too fast I think (definitely poorly worded but something along those lines just more logical)
gotta hook them in so the sunk cost fallacy kicks in at exactly the right time
I feel like if you afraid of players being bored too fast
I dont htink the solution should be keep introducing more area LOL
at that point maybe just chang your premise to be something else rather than having player being a recruits of an army
like if you afraid at the idea of a province that constant on war against undead and hell itself to become boring to the player
it
IDK man maybe the problem is not the player stay in the area for too long
TBH this is probalby why I prefer progression in serverl ike Monu more
despite the build quality being lesser
because it just I can remember being in town more compare to like Efilim that only has like 1 quest and that quest does not even involve the town that much
I feel like wynncraft just have a problem where the premise that they trying to do kinda go against the gameplay that they wanted
ecause definitely viewing story as a whole, the player is less of a soldier and probably deserve to get into jail for desertion and going AWOL than celebrated
ofc this is until mid-late game
where player actually have valid to not do army shit
Personally i think dwelling walls can stay but pit of the dead and lost tower… revamped
pit of the dead just nothing quest and lost tower exist LOL
Charon desreve more quest
honestly akkadicus still weird choice to have questline leading up to her
but she is like
elvel wise she is perfect
I mean dwelling walls is short by design and thats good
it just too bad she does not really have a way to get imore involve in the story
so Charon should do the trick
What they want to do is put Aledar and tasim throughout the entire game
it is yes
Theyve only got to lvl 25
So nemract msl coming soon?
Charon rework likely
so yeah
Consider aledar feature in mercenary quest it likely that we wont see him in this potential Charon rework?
Charon also refer in RTP
well more like
helping Graken
not direct reference but the event of dark descent is mention
Idk but not necessarily tying aledar and tasim but maybe Graken throughout nemract
I agree with you
TBH I am more into trying to refine quest in wynncraft to fit more into the premise of the story
because as of rn the premise of the story is
VAGUELY there
like VAGUELY
Its pretty good at the moment especially early game
Some quests should be kept standalone
wynncraft still have poor understanding of how real life stuff work which is issue when you want to make actual living breathing world
like sure you can say this is fantasy
but when you dont know the rule you cant really bend it
I disagree I think rekindled really helped that
what rekindled even do
like
I dont remember it have that much quest and mercenary quset kinda fall into same trap
of not understand how soldiers or chain of command work
I like mercenary quest
Mobs , ambience , all these things to make it generally a more lively world
just to get it out there
yeah but
I am not talking about that
I am talking about stuff like economy and stuff
the world building stuff
stuff you kinda need to get the basic of to make a world
Well no but the recent revamps in the last few updates (gavel reborn, early game rework) have helped
Gavel was trash before tbh
They have helped with the world building and lore in general tying everything together
More cohesive
I mean yeah ofc but again I talking about economy and how millitary structure work
which they still kinda failing at the second part
a CT I talk to do say that they see the problem and will try to fix it later on
but I just kinda wondering how they gonna fix the story
cause wynncraft as a story rn limited by its premise rather enchance by it
player being recruit is just dubious
I mean classic selfinsert but in my opinion it does work, fruma will answer qs
Ragni so far did not really like
The concrete premise that we have
is that they are recruits
and a soldier
but the game kinda failed to protray that
Ragni so far just failed to show any hint of care in taking in recruits beside opening the door for them
having group of people that literally lose memory of their home and origin
and then just let them walk off the kingdom is
definitely a choice
This is solved by detlas barracks / admiral aegis etc
it not really solve because Ragni still let their fresh recruits go out of their own
instead of making them familarize with their new home
it just feel irresponsible and just careless on Ragni part
I think making ragni more like you were suggesting which is more realistic would be at the expense of a longer tutorial
it really not just not make Tasim walk out of Nivla Forest
and that it
I literally have concept suggestion
a way to remedy this problem
tbh even then I probably someday write my own take on tutoria
In my opinion the region they need to remake most is the jungle
Its filled with randomnquests
it has not update for years
also here one of my suggestion to adjust the quest
the aim of the project is
try not to fully remake the quest
but more editing the dialogue as much as possible
By making Tasim be more vague of where he at would at least give some room of him doing work around Ragni
rather than the guy just sitting his ass in Nivla forest straight away
and remake some interaction to establish the protocol and explain how player situation is special compare to other recruit
There alot more so like
oop the webs9ite is down
dan
HERE IT IS
Read over what you posted Trashie, and those are solid ideas for rewrites for sure. Definitely hit on something I noticed during my current playthrough where I am finally paying attention to the story.
And even then, I am still finding myself doing the story out of order.
WHAR
If he wants the energy mushroom just to stay awake wtf happens to the therck stairs
Honestly, instead of a black void and a teleport, why not have it be a little caved out area with a hooded wagon that you enter, like the one that takes you from Alekin to Detlas? That be neat. And the team can probably make a brief skippable cutscene that shows like the outside view of the wagon as it leaves thru the tunnel and stuff, and have it cut to your model hopping out of the wagon with animations like how the loot crates have
that could work but yeah the focus of the project is to not change thing too much
so that kind of thing are wayy out of the scope of the project
yeah I get that
Honestly, what is the point of General Gracken? after the recent update he just looks like Admiral Aegis, just replace Aegis with Gracken or the other way around, it'd make either of the two more relevent characters
General Graken likely just general for Nemract army specifically
while Admiral Aegis is admiral of Detlas army
that and even in the dungeon Gracken just stands there, picking his nose and being useless. was there a reason why he cant fight along with us or something
tbh that more of technical limitation
cause in old version of the dungeon, you can send out Graken to help you in the fight
but that fight used to be like
sending soldiers to fight zombies and have them kill Charon
what about infested pit? that had TWO friendly npcs to help you
with the new update at least
pretty sure that only occur once and that is recent update
relatively recent
compare to Underworld
they re-revamped the boss arena for rekindled iirc and Gracken now does less than he did previously
oh no the revamp happen in 2.0
actually no
I dont remember
it's pre rekindled that for sure
they did not do much for Charon in rekindled
I mean, if they sorta neutered og underworld and keep spellbound charon [only updated corrupted boss besides redbeard?] then that can create an avenue where the corrupted bosses can have more complex attacks instead of just having more health. There's a video on YT somewhere [cant find it atm it's on there tho] where you can see players running around and sealing tombs that arent there in the arena anymore after the rekindled update
here it is https://youtu.be/TdKACyvpA0U
Ignore the potion usage, was just going for footage here- not to win.
Yeag because Charon spell is like
there some bug to it I think
IDK dont remember anymore, you can scroll up to see selvut talk about it
but charon is a mess
ah I see. tragic. maybe he can get some love on some other update
dedicated Charon major update: "The Charon Update" where every enemy is charon now, no more fun
🤣
we'll give graken more to do when charon sees changes
graken was kinda funny once he was given the english accent
he's never not had it
idr him having it when I first did his quest like 2 years ago
but it has been 2 years
I miss spam spawning Graken in the 1.14.2 iteration of Charon
Out of every boss in the game, that might’ve been the most uniquely played one, if not cheesed
I think Charon having some connection with Bak’al would be cool way to hint Bak’al early on and set up for his future appearance
I like the idea of Charon hide away so he would not compete with Bak’al and just been building up his army for all this time
And when you get to defeat him, he will say something along the line of “There will be worse await for you”
Idk feel like there a lot you can do with Charon
Which is really funny because like
This character who essentially a poorly referenced Greek mytho that only reference the source in surface level
Could be early game villain
Nah he had it back then as well
Graken was introduced in 1.14.2, with the updated Zombie Dungeon into the UC we know now—minus the boss. He’s always had that silly way of speaking, though it is lessened in the dungeon itself
WHAT
That's what the fight is meant to be?
I just killed him in 10 sec as acro
Are art pieces with lore allowed here or should I post the image in #your_work and then link to my lore rant here?
I mean Ywah I guess
Alright then-
Wanting to do a D&D version of Wynncraft, I did the first deity drawn character.
Lylak (pronounced Lilac) is a chaotic deity which represents chaos and the essence of War and Corruption itself.
They present themselves as a fallen warrior, based on the Wynncraft archetype Fallen Warrior and styled like Mask; the god of Trickery D&D.
fun to see the fallen archetype as a template for characters like this
I had an idea for a fallen character where he was exposed to the corruption and was trained by the troms magic... Folk... I guess... In order to be able to sort of only allow himself to come to the brink of losing himself. Using his power never became easier, tho. He just is able to know his own limits
wow this is so cool!!!
guys i wanna talk about an items lore
whats up with trance's lore? its kinda like... cryptic? i dunno how to explain it
when colorized version of wynn soldiers eating sweaters tho
The shadows grow. They grow like flooded plantlife, like the thoughts that come to you as you lay on your side and pretend to sleep. They sprout in the traceries of the rainsoaked windows and in the birdcage and beneath your bedcovers, and darker yet darker they grow.
This is no ordinary dark. Reach out now and it would feel like moss beneath your hand. Its edges are sharp. You can feel it scrape as it passes over you. It shaves you mannequin-smooth. It forces its way past your lips and down your throat and the darkness hollows you out until only darkness remains. It comes from the secret places: the doors you never opened, the dusty corners where you like to hide, the corners of your eyes and the cracks in your heart. It always finds you.
If you were to go outside. To slip out of the bed and walk barefoot out the door and onto the drenched streets where the asphalt digs like fingernails into your soles, through this illusion of other lives. You would see it. How the shadows lattice across the world, form widening palms and innumerable fingers. You would see these hands reach out through the soft wet dark.
They are my hands. They are my fingers. I am reaching now, from within and without. You can avert your eyes, or run to your secret places, or stand still and stay silent and hope that the rain will pass. Nothing will change. I will always find you.
You think about a world where everything is the same, except you don’t exist.
Everything functions perfectly without you.
that is an excerpt from a fic that partway inspired the lore
SENTIENT CREEPER
wow thats interesting, but what does this mean? sorry im a little dumb!!
This is actually a passage from a Deltarune fic, written after only the demo. The author stated it was a mood piece trying to capture the feeling of unease of realizing that Kris had a life completely outside of the player that is being interrupted by the players' presence, "that Kris is beleaguered by negative influences “within and without,” and the people around them are unable to fully explain or understand it." That inspired the specific prose of the lore...but the lore itself
It's intentionally a bit vague and feelingsy, as if it's a third party watching on, and commanding- a hypnotist slowly dropping YOU into trance the more you drop the enemies into trance- pulling on your strings from afar as you are powerless to stop it. It is a command that you pass on through the enemies, effectively
so trance is an evil wand that controls others and you or something similar? simplified?
does this mean I can actually use the "following orders" defence because I was in a trance
Depends on your viewpoint, whether you consider that an evil action, and given there is no other statement given on what the purpose of it is, what this mysterious third party intends to do WITH that control.
interesting
now i wonder where does trance come from? i know you get it from annie but whats its actual origin
Like I said, it's something I wanted to leave vague and feelingsy rather than tying it to anything specific.
Could it not just be a corrupt creation
wouldn't be surprised if some pit of hell managed to turn a random stick sentient and evil
seemed to work well enough on panic zealot
it gives me dernic origin vibes
like how dernic influence turned a relik into the panic zealot
you knoww?
isn't it a little much bloodthirsty
to originate in a place other than the realm of constant fighting
tying all of those mythics to corruption seems a little tricky
particularly since resonance has Particular lore
i doubt its corruption but who knows
surely corrupt influence could turn a stick into a sentient evil uhh puppetmasterstick
the thing is i think the only one that comes from corruption is bloodbath, the rest somehow ended in the cache
light influence could probably also do that tbh turn an object into a sentient friendly lightstick
wait so that's how flashlights were invented
woa
when dern update comes out, will a level 103 quest introducing The Nameless Anomaly release
since after all
Realm of Light I: The Worm Holes, introducing Nest of the Grootslangs
so therefore
Realm of Dern I: The Void Holes, introducing The Nameless Anomaly?
are there any mythics that have a connection with dern? im kinda curious now
aside from my theory of trance being related to that
Don't think I can say much about that.
oh oops okay
Convergence?
Could be the Dern void or Ahms void
whats convergence's lore? let me check
void
@quartz mist what can you say about this
i dont think he can say much about this
dern is a very like secret topic or something
ill look through all the mythics and see what i can find
Singularity?
It's cosmic
and if it's cosmic that like half/half dern tbh
after all the invasion of the Silent Expanse started with meteors
i thought it was the portal
thiis owuld kinda make sense but tna is already established but i feel like its just kinda thrown in there with EO
so far im looking at trance, convergence, and divzer
Selvut is it true that
hello trashie!!
Hello
That neat
divzer says "unruly magics of void and darkness are tamed within this bow's string"
I thst remind me I have document for rewrite mythic lore lol
hear me out RoD 1 TNA, RoD 2 the corruption under the obelisk OR the dark obelisk's past, RoD 3 who the fuck knows maybe witness church, RoD 4 you find Lari again and either kill her or deliver her to Dullahan to be tortured, RoD 5 you meet this guy
oh really? how is that going?
Kinda abandoned since I got bored
yay i can kill lari
YAY
But I did manage to write some mythic
but whats rod 5
you get to meet this guy
meet dern?
oh
can i seeee? or is it still a wip
huh
Yeah sure wait
the cat
yay
this is what the dern beast will actually look like
btw
Wynncraft's Items Lore Rewrite Project to use the lore from Wartorn Project to rewrite items lore to be more interesting, grounded, or exploring different concepts in the universe of Wynncraft while assigning them to a region. Wynn Province Sunstar Original Description - Once known as the Doomsda...
This connected to wartorn project
what is wartorn project
So a lot of lore refernece pull from that rather than actual canon
will it allow us to bayonet eyefolk
i see!! youre like adding more bits of lore for some and rewriting others, i like the cataclysm one a lot, but maybe there could be a reason why it gives so much negative hp?
Tbh you holding essentially a reality ripping blade so like
Probably not gonna be good for you
Also you can take rhat as you are not compatible since you are not an olm
yes thats fair
Why don't almuj desert and mesa have corruption?
Is it bc they're too far away?
I think desert might have a little but not alot
Even nesaak was ravaged by corruption before theo freeze and it's pretty far away
it is far away but yeah there is corruption in mesa
somewhat
some patch of is corrupted and you can see some corrupted mobs there
like devils and undead
I think those just exist before Theorick freezing
but again Nesaak is old
in term of like development
Corruption is barely in almuj desert where logically there should be undead
But then again corruption spread makes no sense
Detlas is like 200 metres away 😭
Detlas likely very well defense
and corruption is not like those type of corruption that spread like algae or sentient slime or whatever
it spread through roots
so theoritcally, if you were to keep the roots in check
you can prevent corruption from spreading further
cause from what we know so far from observation
corruption cant presist on its own for too long
as you can see with battle between Lari and Parasite
spikes seems necessery in order for corruption to presist
Oh ic
So like the undead are their agents of transport
And they fight defenders so the roots can grow
I guess??
the purpose of undead is not really sure
and that way of thinking feel like corruption is too organize
when reality it's literally chaos itself
If the roots could just spread anywhere then it doesnt make sense why bakal needs giant army
because Bak'al is not with corruption
Corruption is more of a tool to him than something to be affiliated with
So far Bak'al can control only undead
and take this with grain of salt
talking to some CT implying somehting like Annie would likelyt to kill Bak'al
Hes still only corrupted tho, it makes sense that he would be trying to make corrupted spread
this back up by the fact that CoW willingly fight against bak'al and his army
bak'al being "corrupted" is dubious
as being corrupted kinda depend on your view
? thats interesting
I dont remember that tbh
Corruption itself is a wild card
a hunter's calling
Bak'al directly state that CoW once fought his army
Ya normal corrupted just attacks anything, while bakal seems to have motives
the thing is that from what I gather
I think it easier to understand
when you identify corrupted stage as the point where you become reanimated by corruption
aka undead
but for example people from Angry Village would not be call corrupted
as they are still recoverable and only influence by corruption
so if you following this definition
My belief is that corrupted people will just be insane and attack everything that is not undead, basically zombies
Bak'al and Theorick are not consider corrupted
then you kinda have to kinad count the angry vilalge people
which that kind of definition
it kinda confusing because like
that mean some corrupted are recovrable while some are not
that why I use this definition because it easier to identify
and it make sense to why there seperation between influenced by corruption and being actually corrupted
because the thing is
from what I see
Angry village people arent corrupted imo, they are just influenced by the corruption in some way
yeah which mean they are not corrupted
but they are shown the sign that will kill each other
at certain point
so this is my theory where like
U mean corrupted village right, angry village was retconned
yeah corrupted village
whatever it is
from what I heard corruption reanimation are more like
the hatred from corruption itself animate the body and object
so I feel like the undead are more by product
since corruption hate life itself and it would use life's creation to further its goal to wiping all life from existence
and corruption has some infighting as I talk to the person who design the devils said that all the wound you see on devils are inflicted by each other
so there are not really order in corruption
but yeah Bak'al does not really do anything for corruption
we dont really know yet
but consider his self automony it likely that he is not entirely influence by corruption and therefore his own indivudal
so that why I hestitant to call him a corrupted
the same apply to Theorick
When Bob defeated bakal, apparently corruption could no longer spread to Ragni tho
Hes def a big part of corruption
no?
the recent sewer of Ragni quest
literally state that undead been pushing people into the capital
Bak'al is big part because he organize his army of undead to destory cities in Wynn province
the corruption simply take advantage of the fact there literally no one able to fight against it to its advantage by spreading even more
when Bak'al defeated, that just mean all of his udnead army are no longer a problem and now wynn people can focus on the issue of corruption itself
but the recent development in Ragni sewer imply that corruption still a big problem even without Bak'al
annie even an evidence of this
also I dont think it even state that corruption no longer spread to Ragni when Bak'al defeat
it just undead no longer have organization
the root likely spread as normal
Ya but other than spreading corruption for the sake of spreading corruption, what other motive would he have?
Hmm sorry i dont rly know that much about that
he still seems to serve dern beast during corruption war
but we dont know how causing corruption war in Wynn province further Dern Beast plan
So its prob to dern beast's advantage
so whatever happen in corruption war is part of Dern Beast plan but we dont know any thing yet
Bak'al as character right now is unfinish
lack introductory and most of his relevance lock behind secrect discoveries
def late to the party but the new music video on wynncraft has this log, probably from the archer's viewpoint on the coast, although the fact that it gives archer "deja vu" can imply that the coast and floating islands are present in fruma, where the player originaly came from
yeah there's different logs from every class on each wynncraft ost, the class is shown from the cover. For example, Military March has Warrior in the art and has this log.
this one is from TNA "The Abyss Stares Back", probably implying that greg is some sort of person trapped in a state of whatever he's in. It doesn't really make sense for one of the classes to write this log, as they write the logs afterwards the battle/event, and if so then this doesn't really match their writing.
This is much less important to the lore but you can actually see their personalities/writing styles in the logs. This one is from the assassin, writing about the mage and warrior rushing into the raid. There's another one in "Adventure" that shows that the mage really likes to talk in a sort of poetic form.
Nice spots
@regal spire Ok I was trying to find the Royal Garb Candara image during this conversation and I accidentally stumbled across it yesterday
Here you go
Even on first appearance I basically tried to display all the Sovereigns’ personalities from just their poses alone
As much as Wynncraft allows, anyway
whar is this from a teaser or smth
