I mean seriously does people looked at this and don't think of this?
You genuinely cannot tell me with a straight face that these two skin don't bear similarities at all
Also the spot of grey on top of the head doesn't help this case at all LMAO
yeah like
You can never convince me most people think it's anything else but werewolf
The thing is some of the CT also thought it was some sort of furry creature
Anyways we got cool Shadow Person now
Nah sorry I will still go with werewolf 💔
(Still thought it would've been cool if the boss was like, the sword itself and it's like creating a body to hold itself as it attacks the player as itself but this new shade concept is still cool)
It could be cool
LMAO
manage ot finalize the homebrew of demons in wynncraft
I just gonna classify them as primodial spirits that are generally hostile and live by feeding on living being souls
They capable of forming pact with mortals beings as well where often ended with the demon consume the mortal’s soul at the end of their life
There also powerful variant of demons called arch demons
And there currently only 5 of them exist in their respective element
As of right now they are poorly study and understand by the general civilization
As encountering one is rare
Why is he chained
Release my boy :(
since I make water arch demon base on leviathan
IDK if I should inspire other by the other 2
yup doggo
I just know that thing was about to hit the Multihit > Multihit > Multihit > Multihit combo
free my boy naragath he done nothing wrong
Can't wait for Weirds to get custom models
I still want to make the funny bosses
But like, if the new Weirds no longer have the leather armor aesthetic (they probably won't) then I'll have to redesign them before I make the models
Might as well posting it here since I really like what I done with this
Narageth still there but I still have to design him
Properly gone under name change and design change
One of the idea is to make him base on Ziz but that depends if I gone to the idea 3 demons are base on the 3 giant creature
that garaheth?
He is the first flame Ywah
Naragath is the first storm
This channel is for Wynncraft lore
What
Have you never play DND quest line lmao
That’s NOT Wynncraft. Like I said, ‘for Wynncraft lore’
DND is dungeons n dragons. Wtf are you talking about?
Dwarves and dogun??
Dwarves and Doguns Part II is a long quest taking place in the Molten Heights area. It is the second quest in the Molten Heights storyline.
Is this a bait
I’ve never heard anyone call that DND before
You’re the one baiting
isn't it called DAD
No cause that stupid acronym and I never heard anyone use that
D&D is probably better to be used as well, y'know
Well
That's for Dungeons & Dragons, although it could also be used for Dwarves and Doguns but idk
Yeah so it like
Both of these acronym can apply
It like tf2 can mean team fortress 2 or titanfall 2
after some discussion with friend I just gonna go ahead and make hadel lore connected to Levatath
Oh uh
It's actually a really common term for Dwarves and Doguns in this community lol
Unless these guys are all talking about Dungeons and Dragons idk
Ok nvm I scrolled the first page a lot of them are of Dungeons and Dragons actually
But yeah I've seen the quest being referred to DnD ever since it was added like all those years ago
Not really any other shortform to call it, really
Unless you want people to say the full name all the time
Or like, "the dwarves questline"
yeah there literally like instance of the word being use
even CT said that the abbrevation is same as the tabletop
even then the point of this interaction is not even how about DND suppose to be shorten but the guy assuming what I made is not wynncraft related
Bro decide to come in this channel and act like they know what the topic is
Dw&Dg
that im not the only one who sees a scorched demon skull. another CT used that, and before it was used for the blade of shade it was used for other non-werewolf enemies as well
not like it matters that much given lurkers have their own custom skins now anyways
ok but you and several cts are not most people
also
js it isnt nearly as definitive as you make it out to be. i doubt people wouldve thought it was a werewolf if not for like. environmental bias of "oh im getting werewolf tails so it must be werewolf related" and that kind of thing coloring perception
not like it matters that much given lurkers have their own custom skins now anyways
s kind of a shrug
are we ignoring the fact that this looks similar to the most generic werewolf skin ever
yeah but that's not the point we're discussing here. what's the point of repeating this twice lol
no, we're addressing the fact that theres multiple interpretations of what it is/was, and that it isnt really relevant anymore to keep bringing up because the blade of shade is different now anyways
as well as the other lurkers which used that skin
like. why keep bringing up that blade of shade used to in your opinion look like a werewolf like it's a real knock at this point, when we specifically changed it to make it clearer that it wasnt
and when the same face was used for very clearly non-werewolf enemies independently of that
maybe because that was what we're talking about?
that the old design looked like werewolf?
we as in me and purple
which circles back to "why keep bringing up [that point] like it's a real knock at this point"
because I wanted to?
I- why do you think I have that much underlying thoughts lol
do you think I think that deep before I commented on that?
i dont in particular. just feels weirdly mean-spirited to do
and like. obstinate
bro you're just being defensive
wonder why that could be given everything. but yeah its just that whenever its brought up is almost always in the context of "man haha isnt it funny the boss used to look like a werewolf haha what idiot would ever think it looked different haha" style statements its kinda hard not to feel like its meanspirited
whats this about a werewolf
Old blade of shade looked like a werewolf
Das it
Still you're being defensive. also you're putting words in my mouth.
'd be 'ppreciate if you don't do that
and the bit where i emphasized it was a style or tone of the statement rather than a quote?
You're still putting words in my mouth
Also tones in a message
Really?
If you read it as someone is about to get you all the time that's your problem and not mine
been thinking about how I want to protray demons in wynncraft becuase I Like the direction I am going for currently
the one in gam eis like
these things
fine line to cross between demons and devils
so kinda want demons to be more vibrant and more elemental looking compare to devils
Why do we have multiple demons for each elements
That's
yeah really. messages carry tones. acting like thats a surprise is crazy disingenuous
Bogus but damn I like it
demons are category of spirits
and spirits are manifestation of magic which use elements as their form
Ok tell me, what am I feeling rn
Judging from my tones
that why in wartorn universe, ghosts are seperate into different type dependent on the element that they use to make their body
What do you think you are? Some psychologist?
exasperation, annoyance, confusion
Specter use air elements
Sprite are fire element
Spark are thunder element
Undine are water element
Disappointed
currently there is no earth element ghost but that up to intreptation
mostly because I cant think of any name but hey mystery add flavor
tbh I expand the demon later but for now these 3 are up to intereptation
sorry whos the armchair psychologist now
Imagine going on the internet and thinking everyone is about to get you
That's fair point. But seriously I think you need some help
youre kinda killing your own point and proving mine by saying its impossible to read tones but then insisting i need professional help over being defensive in an area where people really do just casually attack my work like this very often. its also super presumptuous to say that i need psychiatry over a small thing like this. anyway i think in a lot of fantasy earth spirits are synonimous with gnomes but thst probably wont work here
idk it was good enough for secret of mana
so like, maybe
Ok that's fair but do you think you can read the tones correctly
Or just "everyone is mean to me"
Because I feel like this is just the second one
but idk if youd have to reconcile it with the pre existing gnomes or else write those guys out. not like they do much so its feasible but hey
Gaia?
I mean it's pretty common name
Also pretty much means earth
EHhh Gaia sound too important IDK since it share with titan of greek legend
but I will think about it
Well you can also use gaea
I'm not too familiar with all of the "demons" of Wynncraft, although idk if some of the quest bossses like the Corrupter of Worlds could count?
If the Corrupter of Worlds counts, perhaps it could be put as Quake or something like that? I'm gonna really need to research a bit more tbh
It's
Not bosses perse
Alright
Fair
that either devil or undead
CoW is not demon for sure
demons are nothing related to corruption
I mean
they exist
Well undead is another good point actually
We might have to define demons
oaky the thing
we dont know what demons is
but so far something like Garheth
and whatever that Dullahan summon
they have no relations with corruption
and Garaheth predate the oppening of the portal
Alright so basically demons do not have any affiliation with the corruption, right?
Okay this is seem really random
Dullahan do summon demons
yep
those are devils
not demons
0 correlation despite the naming
Yeah like you can't tell me that's not jank LOL
Dullahan was involved in the decay which is a separate thing afaik
How did stt read that as people is beyond me
it's 100% jank but we will take as what we can get
this is also closet thing we have to having explination to what demons are
like
they are powerful
and that pretyt muich it like
they are ancient(consider the doguns origin) and powerful(Pastor Arwes)
that all we know about demons
nope
he directly summon demons
Nevermind
Wynn really have too much shit omg. they really need to get it together
but he literally summoning demons in the quest LOL
ikr
like here he just control demons
I think there are some focuses on Fruma at the moment, which is currently set to release around Early 2026 and yet people are just trying to piss around with it
so demons are summonable
they as a whole are ancient
and powerful
and that all we know
Like imagine having gods that are fighting eachother and then you have demons
How ancient..
Also how did dallahan knows how to summon demons
Idk lmao
Well I'm probably going to suggest that some of the faction quests are possibly other questlines, although Dwarves and Doguns is required to complete The Breaking Point for TCC, although you do get the ability to play it on other characters if you don't have the quest completed, but have some sort of item from the quest on another character
I don’t think demons are that important to the story as a whole but would be nice to learn but more about them
I even make homebrew for them
I bet bro high on LSD and somehow figure it out or something
All we know that garaheth responsible for making doguns which imply he is old
It's not and I would say just remove them as a whole is probably better for wynn
I'm not too sure about all of this though, perhaps it could be filler? The main storyline with Wynncraft is kind of about us doing our own thing alongside Tasim & Aledar, that latter of which we meet for the final time in A Journey Beyond and A Journey Further
But again
Tasim we last see in Recover the Past, and that's it for now
I have ocean quest rrwrite related to demon for wartorn project
Perhaps when Fruma comes, maybe he might appear in some of the Gavel quests?
It's so many shit that is just there and not really get used
Like why makes another faction
Do you mean about the quests and stuff? Sorry if I changed the subject too far
Er
More so of lore
Fair
I probably expand on demon later
Like they should just focus on corruption and influence
thinking about expanding my acolyte OC to be more demon related
Agreed
This is too much shit on the plate
It's like cooking on the stove and put everything in the pot
I mean Idrc about joke part but like
But Fruma is going to have to be a priority for well, the CT afaik, especially with it being possibly overdue to the fans and yet I'm trying to wait as long as I can, but avoid getting my hopes up significantly
I think tcc and DND are fine
Fair
Well the quest with Dullahan is part of a questline with funnily enough, unlocks the second raid (Nexus of Light) on the final quest completion
Yeah and rol3 is just dissing lari
Which is just rol2 except now we also got this guy died
But still, I think the Lazarus Pit could have been sabotaged or whatever while to Lari trying to revive Dullahan, which likely backfired
Nah it's just decay
Alright
Though
The game really makes you think light are warm and compassionate while darkness is cold and mean
Fair
Our character does have a possibly True Neutral alignment in which they have done basically anything regardless of this or that, not for chaos nor law
Orphion propaganda LOL
Lari was more at fault for being a pacifist
Which when she encountered Bak'al...
Well, her fate is likely sealed or something
She stopped being pacifist atp
Yep
Well rol doesn't have the best writing
But that was after she crashed out after we found a plant that is also a bit of an innuendo of a certain well, y'know
I mean imagine if Orphion just tap into her mind and say "just kill it"
Yeah I think trusting Lari was a bit of a daft choice but idk
But yeah
She did try to stop the Aldorei elders from destroying the seal or whatever
It's just corny writing
Wait for rewrite 🙏
Bro it's like
The mainest questline ever
Like literally the revelation to what is happening in the world
Got it
Corruption is explained here, you get the basics of what is going on in Wynn and these two are literally the big good and big bad in the sense
Of course we have yet to see Dern if that might come around sometime after Fruma, but there is an NPC that is blocking the only entry to said dimension, being the main NPC in AHC
Also Orphion spending four quest to make lari tired to kill you just to make her doing her job is corny
Yep
But even though she could kill us which isn't canon as that wouldn't be the best thing to have, I guess her having her break her pacifist mindset could work
Or
He can just talk to her directly
Like a normal person
He can speaks to you throughout the entire series
What's stopping him from reaching out to her
That could be a good point
He literally waits for you to prove your worth LMAO
That would've changed things up, but I suppose the tropes are there for the confusion that RoL is
Mostly a questline for some items that have good use, like Photon for some builds as well as Double Vision for the jump height and stuff
Pains me to say but like holy, he's incompetent af
Saying from the guy who is obsessed with this character
And two raids as well, first being the Grootslangs at the first RoL quest and the other is at the final raid
Of course
I'm mostly obsessed over Tasim most of the time as I'm curious about what could happen in Fruma
It could be likely he might have a similar fate to Aledar in the Silent Expanse, but idk
🙏
I pray for this
I need Tasim dead so I can piss off someone
Well Tasim was mostly MIA since Recover the Past, although I think it might be fair as he wanted some time away from Aledar because of what happened previously
Wouldn't that make Tasim female?
Unless, maybe its like the term "drama queen" which despite it using queen, its a gender neutral term
But idk
Just entering Fruma through the gate seems a bit too easy as we have been exiled to be part of Wynn, and fight their war and stuff
Okay I'm not wanting to delve into the Arrai-Veretal thing again, as I've discussed it more than enough times afaik
@hybrid gazelle I figure it out
But anyway, with the Tasim going MIA thing, I do feel like that is relevant to me as it has happened to me with some I know but I won't delve into it as its personal
Well not MIA, but just deserted or even moved on but they have contacted some other people I know as well
Ok
But I'm not fussed over it since they and I are adults, and we got our own accord
I'm not gonna continue on the "someone I know moving away from me and others but still keeping in contact with someone" thing, as its private stuff and its not really appropriate to talk about here anyway
Moving on from that, I suppose in terms of Aledar, we do see him in The Mercenary which does kind of infer the soldier (basically who we play as) being possibly True Neutral as they have done many things regardless of well, moral or even law
Anyway I'm gonna head off and do my own things IRL, and I might hop on Wynn for a bit or two
This isn't because of that topic just so you know, I want to keep it private when possible as its a personal thing and yeah
oh yeah met someone recently and it's funny that they took a break from wynncraft because they went into military service and started playing again
the other form of military service of being a wynn soldier
Been thinking what should I homebrew next
I working on archetype oc rn and working on trapper oc
what if you just make Orphion not a fox
I mean look at what you did to Eih
why stop at Eih
I proabbly will at some point
isn't trapper obvious
although now that I think about it that really only explains the dog
Obvious as in what
My direction for archetype is exploring wynncraft as universe and try to expand on existing concept
I can make trapper just explosive guy but thst alone won’t be enough to justify their existence
Ok being more serious
what
person that lives in the rymek canyon that used to help with the mines?
snakes and crows already fit and maybe the hound could be a coyote
rymek luke 🙏
what if trapper is his cousin
there already enough of wynnic in the roster I got like roguh concept what i am going for
mostly for more ocean orientated design
what about ocean edge
eh I am going for pirate
at least if I getting another human character in the roster
I dont want them from corkus or wynnic
alrady got enough of those
I see
would think about making my own characters but I end up with only my single self insert
Like so far in my roster it been going well so far
maybe bit too much wynnic and human for my liking
Is that a Space Marine on the back?
Also what is the tl;dr on the lore? I'm interested in learning more
...oh my goodness how am I getting recognized for THAT of all things bro
sorry something came up anyways I was thinking a miner from the Auburn Forest (since after all it's supposedly full of natural resources no?)
basically this guy
Thst a golem
Also it basically just otherworldly light and dark having war with each other and reality have to be fuck over by it
I have 0 fucking ideas what you even talking about nor how this relate to trapper
why is it always the emerald miners
emeralds = money across all 3 provinces somehow
so if you can mine emeralds, then you can trade the emeralds for anything else you can mine
I mean Espren
that dirt-poor Fruma town from the trailer
the emerald poor but resource rich
they have stuff they just use bartering more iirc
well yeah that's why I'm suggesting miner
not an emerald miner but a [whatever ingot and ore is in fruma] miner
so someone who probably has experience with explosives
cinnabar miner
true
from that one time cinnabar info was placed on the mining levelup screen for like level 109 or smthn
wait WHAT
show image
idr if I took a screenshot of it
either way I'm not sure it's something I'd be allowed to post
very sadge
ok so I can't find a screenshot of it but I can tell you that when I was grinding ingots for leveling my jeweling, I leveled up and it said I would be able to mine cinnabar in X more levels lol
a Fruma cave once showed up in the content book too
Water Tower
in any case I'm going off of the image of the poor American country miner around 1900
Which is definitely not the same as a modern miner or a miner elsewhere in the world
But even if the crow and the snake are a stretch, the dog and the rifle are understandable
maybe he's an exceptionally animal-loving miner
And Espren's supposed to have a lot of natural resources, maybe it has snakes and crows too
If not, there are hunting birds, maybe we can convince CT to switch it to a hunting bird
what about for dernic wood, dernic fish, dernic seeds
my other gathering levels aren't high enough
the thing I mentioned has been patched already anyways
very sadge
know any profession haven guys who would know
?
Tbh this is proabbly poor world building but according to someone, old lore has emerald has like
Mind controlling ability
Somehow
I swear every time I hear about some old lore detail it's just another wtf moment to add to the pile
That like reasonable explaination I guess???
I just thjnk jt just half asses attempt to explain the in game currency
When they could just make that Wynn using emerald due to the change in culture when villager arrive
It would allow more emphasis how much villager leave impact on Wynn province
And how much villagers leave their make in world’s economy
Making them more relevant
this is what I had assumed
that emeralds were the gavelian currency for... reasons, and wynn adopted it when the villagers migrated over
rymek is the odd place out still using it lol
They try to go for like
Old it’s badjt town so they use different currency
But like idk man I just feel like having original Wynnic currency being gold
And have bandits still using them due to them being isolated rest of Wynn would give the currency more context and depth
Rather than
Oh theh are outlaw therefore they use different money
Tbh having currency base on gem is odd to begin with
But consider liquid emerald exist imply the emerald in wynncraft are mix of metal and crystal
Also like tbh I find jt odd how people mining emerald directly for money
I feel like
There proabbly not a way to make money unless you want to fuck over the economy by intorducing the money out of nowhere
they certaintly aren't aspiring economists
It not big deal there like
wynnflation is cannon
So many case of wynncraft showcasing its lack of understanding how real economy or how society actually function
So like this is nothing new
My guess is
Villagers have always used Emeralds
Dwarves have always used Platinum
Doguns barter/live in communes
Skyraiders originally barter but now trade in emeralds
Jungle Tribesmen use Antic Beads
Olm - unknown in Silent Expanse, an unknown currency which we now call "Time Fragments" in Time Valley, and unknown in the Dernel Jungle
Desert Empire - Gold
Rest of Wynn - probably bartering
and therefore Fruma - nobody knows lol
If you take the game for what it is
Maybe entire fucking world hold by what appear to be duct tape and worm on a string
With the note pad that say “please don’t use one of your brain cell please”
oh the desert empire
what if that originally used gold and rymek still uses it as a holdover?
Assuming that the Time Fragments are an olmic currency. The only guy who thinks they have any value (the Mysterious Merchant) is olmic tho
yeah that's what I think
That could work but that would imply like
Bandit just use currency from long lost civilization thst proabbly like
Long gone before their establishment
espren was explicitely described as emerald poor, and fruma will be a notable gameplay area, so ima assume that it will use emeralds too even if it makes little to no sense
Which is like you can make headcanon out of that
would mean rymek is old as heck if nothing else
a city built upon itself a bajillion times
I just think what I have is more easier and less of a headache
0 safety standards
maybe the Bandits are descended from the Desert Empire like the Jungle Mercenaries are descended from the Sodeta Guild
since they clearly know the power of the Sceptre they're not after it for monetary value iirc
I am not even gonna try to understand that
they built it on a river and it just keeps sinking deeper and deeper because building something on a body of water and sediment is a horrid idea
The town look cool tho
survivors of the cataclysm who fled south and established rymek, and their descendants have been living there for generations
Chicago
which makes Rymek 2400 years old. rip
the foundations are the rooftops of older buildings
add a quest where you keep falling down layer by layer finding older and older cities lol
Tbh I rather wynncraft try to solve its issue without changing too much
Cause I think that would yield more creative solution
Compare to what if they just replace emeralds with coins
emeralds are moldable and can be pressed into those gem shapes that double as coins?
Yeah that wha i thought
Consider liquid emerald exist
Honestly wynncraft just have issue where like
emeralds must be pretty small in actuality I feel
like as big as the tip of your pinky if not smaller
Writers just have poorly understanding how the real world work so it reflect upon their work which you could say “this is fantasy world” which is like yeah but you gotta understand the rule first before bending or breaking them
Or else it will give off different message to your world
Like how wynn province appear to be unresponsive and poorly manage bunch of civilizations due to Ragni letting fruman recruits wander on their own
Add a quest where you finally get to drink a liquid emerald
Okay sure whatever man
But yeah definitely feel like these could be fix in someway without too much
But Yeha I getting sleepy
Ngl I'm not even sure how you'd manage humans in wynn lmao
Especially ones that are soldier types
Half the time they're described more as force of nature then people
Speaking of the demons thing from the other day. We can consider Spined Devil as a demonic mob, but what of the Ifrit and Lava Spitting Limus. Are they demonic or did they eat a demon? (I have not looked up their appearances before asking this question. I'ma go do that now)
Couldn't find an image of Lava Spitting Limus. The only mention of them is on this page
Search “File:LavaSp” in the search bar
Do I just pick up lore from quests? Is there any other source of it?
secret discoveries is the other big source
Quests, SD’s, general discoveries, a few unguided secrets, Raids, Dungeons, Seaskipper dialogue, basically everything in the game lol
Revan or whatever his name’s head
And, also, you cannot forget the occasional Wynncord lore dump, or wiki search
They could be related to demon yeah but then again these mobs are dubious befause most mobs are added as filler rather than something thoughtful
Though we probably could headcanon our way to make it work
In my interpretation, Ifrits habe cultural meaning to the doguns as being messenger or harbringer of Garaheth
At best they probably some lesser demons like those that Dullahan summon
Therr also Doom cave
0 idea wtf gojng on there beside being doom reference
In many other culture's lore Ifrit is a dragon god, so I would imagine that due to the drop being 'ashes' that Ifrit probably recently ate a demon as food and then the same would make sense for the Lava Spitting Limus
I'm leaning towards neither of them being demons
Gavelian creature substance themselves by feeding on demons would be cool
But thst come to question how common are demons and are they really part of the world ecosystem
I guess molten height being place where garaheth been imprison likely allow some idea of demons gathering there plausible
They don't have to be part of our ecosystem if other creatures can dimension travel
the RoL4 quest showed like 6 different planes of dimensions and some creatures clearly have the ability to create warp holes to go between them
It still applies to all of the world we exist in (in the game)
Where the 6 came from
Demons probably
That the thing we don’t know demons
they do a bit of dimension travel in lore of other media
Yeha but this is wynncrsft
Demons in wynncraft likely have different definition in universe context
Wynncraft pulls a lot from regular media
We don’t know if demons are from another realm
They do but not everyone
And we can’t rely on that and use that as default
it doesn't really matter which one does the dimension travelling though
Unless the game hint it
Big on the proabbly
I think it up to one interpretation at this point consider this gavel content we talking about
If we assume that demons are piggybacked off of other media (as many do), then we can guess that they come from the realm of darkness or the realm of war. Even if they didn't create the portals themselves, it's possible for other things to create portals they can go through, such as how the doguns tried to bring back Garaheth through a portal (also the only time we actually enter the other plane aside from when we visit death)
There's also the question of what the magicblurname location is. We can guess Fruma or Dern. Dern would make more sense if that part of the lore is undeveloped as it would mean that CT don't have to update RoL on Fruma release, but it could also be Fruma.
Except Garaheth predate the corruption portal and Dern connection feel strange due to no evidence
Idk I rather not default it to “otjer media”
Garaheth existing pre-dates the corruption, but we see the Doguns use portals in the end of that questline which they claim they have always done (to teleport back to Rodoroc)
Portal in quests are always weird
Portals probably existed long before the corruption
so it's anyone's guess if the portal or Garaheth came first
Because it seems it only relevant when it convenient to transport player quickly and pretend to not exist
How does this mean they came from other dimension lol
Like again we don’t know the context of portal in wynncrsft they could be just short transportation and that it
I'm not saying the doguns did. I'm saying that Garaheth existed in another plane before portals were created, probably
Do you mean garaheth’s prison
Cause I have no idea what you mean by garaheth from another plane
There's a part of the quests in the Time Valley area where they say that portal magic is "very costly" referring to the mana
I never remember that being mentioned
Yeah but not everyone know cosmic magic and it suppose to be rare thing
I feel like instance of teleportation being use like this
Yeah, that's why very few use it
Is more convenient for the player rather than actually exist in lore
Because doguns have ability to use cosmic magic just odd
It like Telvu from fate of the fallen from example
It just feel like more of writers only way to make the quest flow without inconvenient player
Than something genuine because teleprotation is big deal
I don't speculate about why the CT made a quest have a fast travel or not
That's not a question of lore, that's a question of balance
If we're concerned with the lore, we accept that it's a fact and try to reason with how it's possible
Like trying to figure out a magic trick
It's probably sleight of hand, but we don't know the method
Then yeah sure if you want to go that route but for me there things I rather be gone from wynncrsft lore as a whole and even the writing as well
That's a really shit take tbh. If you don't like something, go find something else you do enjoy. Don't try to destroy what other people have made.
If there's a problem with the lore and you want to correct it, that's fine to theorize. But don't shove other people's opinions aside just because you think yours is the only one that should matter and the lore of the game should follow what you think. That's entitled as fuck.
You saying this as if some ct does not have the same though of removing certain part of wynncraft lore as well
Retconning and rewriting is part of writing especially when old media such as wynncrsft
And are you seriously calling what I made as destroying when I try to mean the creator’s intention
You can go ahead to thjnk what you want but I simply state that I view the setting differently as I enjoy recontextualizing and rewriting certain part of tbe lore to see what they will be like in modern era of wynncraft writing
Retconning is a copout
it's bad lore
it causes players to remember things happening that, due to retcon, now didn't happen
Retcon is just normal part of writing especially when it’s 8+ years old
btw, this channel is for discussing the lore of the game, not for re-writing it
Some material simply do not age well
you're not CT
Do they know
By saying the lore should be retconned
that is actively disrespecting whoever on CT wrote that part of the lore
There's no direct problem with the lore that prevents it from telling a compelling story
no major part of it that needs to be changed to fulfill some unknown agenda the CT has
Idk man seems like they enjoy my rewrite enough to reference it in the game
Sure, some quests can have slight changes to mention things they didn't mention before because of other things near them being affected, but that doesn't mean it's bad writing
Yeah sure lmao
The one in the Bottom Right Corner
?
If you count the characters: 6 chars, then 8 chars
Should be obvious from there
Who says it’s the same number of characters?
it's supposed to be silent expanse
If so, then they’d update it before Fruma
Or same time
probably
but I doubt it'd be de-obfuscated though because the player is unaware of it yet
there is plenty old lore that was never meant to go on for this long and is openly recognized to be bad
there was simply a time when Wynncraft wasn't as strict about lore and not everything had to make sense in lore. That doesn't mean the people back then didn't do a good job it simply means that goals have changed.
Retconning isn't always bad writing, sometimes it's just a change of plans.
it stays at 6 chars and 8 chars with space
it's very clear it's intended to be silent expanse
now in my own opinion I think it will become Fruma when they finally remove silent expanse
but for now it's silent expanse
expanse is 7 chars btw and the same amount shown
the double semicolon in the image above represents a single char because of the spacing
it's easier to tell if it's animated
how

still onboard the idea that fruma will either deal with fruma territory or higher level corruption enemies
annihilation point of progression might be a sign pointing towards a resurgence of corruption forces
I'm confident fruma won't be corrupted it seems well enough protected
probably in the past
forgot where but I think it's said that wynn forces are kinda better suited against corruption now than fruma
my bet is that your aim is just dismantling their oppressive regime
fruma will be fruma
oh so they're doing the Idi Amin thing

and wynn is wynn
I hope it is
gavel is also gavel
no, we're annexing gavel
good luck with that
good luck to the villagers they already need wynn help in llevigar and most of the time when someone needs fighting help they are super glad to see us
gavel's done for
villagers can't actually fight for shit
hey the ragni merc does their best =(
gavel was a military superpower earlier tho after all they did annex the canyon from the dwarves and most of the ahmsregion from the skyraiders
make gavel great again
can anyone really annex the canyon though
nah in the play in D&D1 they say they had to leave thanks to villagers I thought?
oh shoot right
forgot that they ran from them
From what I remember the Dwarves originally lived in Northern Canyon, Doguns originally lived in Molten Heights and southeastern Canyon, Elves lived in southwestern Canyon, and I guess then Villagers originate from the Gylia Region?
or maybe farther west
or maybe they originated from Ahmsregion before Skyraiders and only later moved west to cinfras area before the Elves
yeah wait where the heck did villagers come from
they fell from the sky
-# this is a joke
sweet
Somehow they had a civilization in Cinfras and the Ahmsregion that was totally disconnected thanks to the Canyon and then somehow centuries later the Villagers from the Cinfras region rediscovered the Ahmsregion when they invaded the Canyon and attacked the Skyraiders
¿??????
????
I was kinda joking they could've just moved there
like those low level players traveling to jofash to sky islands
not an expert on gavel lore but the colossus wasn't always going mad and shifting the canyon
ye but Villager presence in the bulk of the Canyon is recent no?
hear me out(and this is just a theory): the villagers went through the canyon, Settled in the ahms plains and then left the canyon when the colosuss started going wild and only recently went back
whatever avoids the canyon area
Since after all the Villagers of the Ahmsregion only worshiped their one protector the Ahms Colossus so they couldn't have known about the Canyon Colossus farther west
the ocean wasn't calm until 100 years ago so it wasn't traversable
and the Doguns didn't know about the Ahms Colossus farther East either
they only calmed the Canyon Colossus
Villagers calming the entire fucking ocean is honestly a magical feat that isn't talked about enough. It is fucking insane.
they did know though they couldnt reach them because of the dwarves
oh
wait no the dwarves originate from the west
tf
the dwarves were from the western canyon
the thanos area
another question for ya'll to wonder about: where do colossi originate from?
wrong side
yknow the province north of gavel
no
it's inhabited by silicon based life forms
oops yeah I mightve gotten that confused with ol' canyon
ahh interesting
two wandered south and settled in the canyon and ahms
these beings have enormous lifespans and move incredibly slowly btw
it's like a human life compared to those insects that die in under an hour
to the colossi their perception of time is normal enough to them. what feels like 10 years to us is a second to them
it tries to sleep, and has been for the last however many years
but this land is simply not strong enough for them
so we've gotta be like hyper speed fast to them
one flaw with your little story: the colossus is moving pretty normal speed when we fight him
he's on drugs
aha sure
literally one of the local crops in the area
WEED.
FIELDS OF REEFER.
FIEEEEEEEELDS OF REEFER
probably sourced from the Elves btw the elves are all druggies just ask the Canned Abis plant and the Maex Hallucinogen Merchant
@hushed obsidian is the Crazy Elf Farmer the only known sober elf in existence
wtf
(he seems crazy but that's just normal elf, all the other elves seem normal because they are high on Canned Abis)
Been working on sharpshooter redesign and honestly the idea of avo killer still want to kept
Like avo serial killer
Like pretty sure sharpshooter in the game is more about magical now thing but I like the direction I am going with way more
idfk
Wait they're the one that did it?
I thought that's some sea mage
I mean thise sea mage could be villager
pretty sure it's said to be the villagers. I have no insider sources for this though just what I remember reading ingame as a player.
That's fair
wait no yeh I am almost certain that the Llevigar plains ultimate discovery explained that the Villagers calmed the ocean in an attempt to find a way to flee the decay
gonna go check ig
okay so the ultimate discovery clearly shows that the villagers are fleeing from the decay across the ocean in 900AP (which ended up with them landing in Maltic ofc)
It doesn't seem to clearly state that the Villagers were the once to calm the ocean but I still feel like I've read that somewhere, maybe the Llevigar Library and it certainly would make sense considering how they set out for whatever was across the ocean the same year the ocean was calmed
okay no I supposed I made that up. I can't find any sources that claim it was the Villagers who calmed the ocean.
I see
yeah I thought it was the mages on mage island
nonsensical island #572
Mages on Mage Island
also did not it imply that mage island was like post 900 AP or what I legit
forgot most of ocean lore
I swear I remember a source somewhere claiming it was the mage island mages that calmed the sea
God I wish it not true because I goddam dislike that place anyway
oh wait
I can headcanon to be someone else
the idea of mage island in fantasy world like wynncraft give off the vibe as like
china town in China
like yeah no shit man that the fucking country
Mage island is just a conglomerate of established magical scholars. It’s literally the home of the Nexus, Grookwarts, and multiple notable magical figures. It’s no different to a university town
It’s also probably way easier to study and develop a ton of magicians if they aren’t under threat of random shit constantly (Like corruption or the decay)
still has no idea why cant grookwart just be the center stage of mage island LOL
also decay is even constant threat to the oustide zone only people in the decay zone got affected by it LOL
Probably was going to be, but it’s hard to put it on a tiny island, and easier to not rework the builds around it to incorporate it
if mage island ever get remake just like
make grookwart the center stage and that probably make it something
I always like the idea of grookwart instead of being a school is more of foundation
in researching various of magical phenomes
I think that more engaging than like
wow magical school
It not like there should be magic school everwyhere in a world where magic is commonality most of the time
it's a harry potter paradoy quest how much sense can come from it even
I’d be happy to see mage island behave more like a university town, with students and professors walking about, and smaller houses strewn about, floating around the island
I like it as like some sort of foundation
like
SC P foundation-ish
if that make sense
would be cool way to explain why nexus exist too
they using olmic technology that they reserach and implement in for the foundation benefit
I get that. They’d need to get better at containing dernic and corrupted entities, though
magic college town sounds wild and I think I like it
Cause, rn, they’re floundering with level 60 mobs 😔
being foundation also allow them to be more intresting with researching dernic and corrupted too
like imagine containment cells where scholars studying various of magical anomalies
you enter cellblock whatever and the walls are just 8 blocks thick and all you get is a little window to a dernic creature within
It could, also, lead into the discovery of RoL/Dern significantly more, with the (potentially secret, again) introduction of the team that’s studying Dernic influence/ceeatures
yeah literally I feel like
it has more potential than grookwart being magical university
cause that should be given to any place in the world like Gavel LOL
like bro you aint special
Considering Mage Island is a level 60 area, it’d be quite simple to make that another precursor to RoL 2
Also, hey, look at that, a pretty easy way to give motivation for finding SE and building a team to explore it
does Lari ever leave Gavel besides the Realm of Light location cannonically?
I have whole ass rewrite of grookwart where they also spearhead into researching olmic artifact
nope
we never seen her getting out
Lari is exclusively locked into Gavel
okay like imagine
Idk if she has explored more than the western half, though
like as part of her service to Orphion or she just never chooses to leave
imagine outside of Mage Island, you see Grookwart personnel in like Detlas bar or osmething
looking for adventurers or bodyguards for hire
to explore olmic ruins and stuff
I’d assume she chooses not to leave, because she basically can’t atp
I think that would be cool exploration to the world buiding
also Lari busy with a lto of stuff
I dont think she could leave if she wanted to
need to keep the barrier and stuff
She had motivation to stop the parasite, first, but each subsequent failure made it more and more impossible for her to ever justify leaving gavel
good point
It’s at a point now where leaving gavel could spell the end of the light forest, what with those parasite related SD’s
pretty funny to think that lari has lived so long, yet only seen half her home province and never left her home province either
we didn't get an elves/dwarves rivalry lol
we instead got dwarves being racist to ANOTHER group...!
I’m still interested in knowing what race the Vikings fall under
oh yeah
they never were explicitely stated to be humans were they? I just kinda assumed they were because I hadn't encountered any dwarves or anything yet
I just assume to be human LOL
the description of ice islands mention wynn I THINK
It weird but then again ocean outdatedl ore
I like to imagine them as descendent of ancient nemract citizens
cause I have whole homebrew lore where during the time ancient Nemract got raided by Charon
good amount of survivors take the ship that was meant to be their attempt to venture out into the ocean
btw this ship is like very big to withstand the tide
but then they got fuck over and wash ashore on the ice island
Do we know anything about the NPC ??? from AHC? Like is it another being from Dern, or is it like a soul magic thing like in Point of No Return?
could straight up be the dern beast in a funny disguise for all we know
It’s just the Dern beast wearing a paper mask like spy
Guys I finally found Relend and he tells me that ??? from AHC will be the main character for the Realm of Darkness questline
gosh what's with the large terraria overlap in this community
Wonder what happend to lari
Maybe after the Fruma update
Realm of war update?
She stuck in realm of war fighting?
Or realm of darkness
Aka dern realm
now that you mention it we dont know where the portal opened to yeah
Shame PvP never caught on
Maybe a guild war update with realm of war
Would be epic
block games of various numbers of dimensions that are slightly less well known than the goliath that is minecraft itself
It look dark and purple
My bet's on Dern
Maybe Lari will be Realm of Darkness III
I’m surprised there hasn’t been a quest about the realm of war yet
Prob cause no one was interested in pvp so they retired the nether aka realm of war
And focused on fruma first and for most before pther realms
I thought we were mercenaries, not part of the Ragni army (explained in [2/8]). Calling us a Fruma recruit is also interesting. This mayor knows something...
"I haven't even left my house for the last week." - guy outside his house
Fruman recruits I think he means
as in, Wynn recruits from Fruma
however, both are technically true
since after all when we try to use the orb we apparently have no past
which MUST mean we are a Fruman experiment to have an unknowing secret agent scope out the outside world before they open the fruman gates
we were brainwashed and all the memories before entering the gate were deleted
or locked in storage
once we come back to fruma they'll replace our old memories
why? so we can't break under torture because we literally have no idea
That's quite the headcanon
My impression is that we bumped our head while sleeping on the carriage ride (or before the carriage ride; and Aledar and Tasim rescued us while we were knocked out) and we got amnesia. You can't have a visible memory if you have no memory to begin with.
Believe it or not I have a machine that just bulk-generates headcanons and then I just pick the most bullshit ones to post
Well "machine" is kinda rude ig
It's sentient
It unlocked hunter’s calling for us to proff
Therefore the John Hunter could be forgotten proffer from Dern
I pay it three euros every day and it buys cat food every time for some reason
I don't get it but it works really well
I have no idea what you're on about
It's really sad if you think about it since Noita is better
Looking back to this old sketch I done with exploring corkian firearms
Honestly still trying to figure out what I should do to protray corkian advance technology
I honestly do like the idea they also using firearms that basically like irl firearms while there also some that powered by electromagic
Probably try to play around some more with the design of these things
oh, my own headcanon is that we are some kind of super soldier made in a Fruman lab and sent out to the field to see how we do
hence why we have no detectable past
How did aledar know that he had to sacrifice someone to open up EO dungeon and how did he manage to get the key to the dungeon?
not the first ever expedition there
we have a map too iirc, Aledar even comments that the giant spike he almost kills himself headbutting at mac 5 wasn't there on the map
the map and previously scouting that produced the map obviously happened quite a while ago, but it was a short enough time ago that dern was already creeping in to an extent even if it was nowhere near as bad as it is now
whether or not EO was already there or not is unknown, and how tf he knew he needed to sacrifice a soul is also unknown
Us just straight up having amnesia would be funny, I think. Idk how it’d play into our own lore within Fruma.
why did aledar want to open the dungeon is it said
like fam its a dungeon you arent supposed to open the door what if somethings inside that you let out
uhhh
we need to get pass it for
IDK lmao
he just want us to get pass the outlook and maybe to dern
how does he know/
IDK
I think its cuz they wanted to kill whatever was inside
And i think they knew somebody was needed to sacrifice was cuz what else whould a random dernic dagger be doing in front of a door on a pedestal
Also does the realm of light have a name like dern is the name of the realm of darkness?
TBH he speak as if he know of this already
so like LOL
Nope
Okay its gonna be Lern then
well consider Dern meant dark in middle english
closet counterpart to Dern as a name for Light is Lux
So Dern and Lux
Realm of Lux
Ream of Dern
Ream of Light
Realm of Dark
I like that
HELIOLUX?!
So which raids are canon? NOL feels like it needs to be, and TCC has a whole questline about accessing it, but are NOTG and TNA like definitive canon points?
yeah they're all canon
Cool
Do they each happen once canonically? TCC and TNA feel like the only ones that would be repeatable in universe.
The Nameless Anomaly reproduces at an absurdly fast rate
so after you defeat him then when you repeat it you're defeating its clone
Happen once
because TCC happen again and again would be fucking tiresome
the entire quest leading the 3 elder to fix TCC and that it
TNA we haven o lore but like
TNA probably singular entity that we just killed
well there is no lore but we dont know the context
I'd say they all only happen once
maybe tcc could happen multiple times
but probably only once
Likely only once because it would just weird to gather everyone
Cause like
Don’t forget that the event of Tcc is literally have everyone in Kadon beta parcipate and not just the 3 elders
So the ending of tbp with everyone about to go back home and do their own things
Imply that Tcc is just one time thing
Because like wtf they doing if Tcc indeed something that can happen again
The context of Tcc literally just calming the colossus
The thing that you kinda need to ask first when it comes to question if one of these raid only happen once or not is what does it serve in narrative if it is
Like does tbp narratively enchance if colossus were to wake up and force to have 3 elders and player to come to deal with it again?
?
I mean in the event of the quest
well yeah but not the raid
The raid is ambiguous but I pretty sure a ct mention that other should be there in the background
But again the convo is long ago I don’t really remember
Even then Tcc happen more than once do not really provide any narrative value and just feel like random thing
And actually kinda kill the mood for the ending a bit because imagine like
Wow you defeat colossus
And then you have to defeat it again while gathering 3 elders to replicate the extant ritual at some point
I mean i doubt doing the raid permanently calms it
It not but the context of the raid is that you calm the colossus with the help of doguns and even then it just
Again does not really narratively serve anything
It actually would make it more questionable
When does the player have to come back again?
Like placing the event in the timeline probably way more confusing than it already is
i mean this isn't a narrative thing imo
Consider this close suppose take place under one year
But the idea of it happen more than once kinda mean it exist in the timeline
Also it just weird to habe like specific raid to be happen once but otjer is not
do we know anythinng about how the olm came to be
No
They exist
And they advance
Also they probably bald
Actually no witherhead has hair
I think those are hair
Actually no tjose can’t be hair cause she is fucking skeleton
Actually yeah bald olm theory still up in the air
There like one alive in Tempo Town right?
The guy who buys time fragments, he looks kinda like Bob and the Olm in the SE discoveries
so here's the real question why does he buy time fragments
were time fragments the currency of the olm or something
since after all olm drop them no?
shrug
or well
wynn olm
silent expanse and dernel jungle olm don't
maybe he's building a time machine to see his dead family again
must be lonely being the last olm alive that you know of
and definitely the last sane olm the Dernel ones are NOT sane and the Silent Expanse ones are :bartek:
how long do olm live for again
.
shrug
time fragments, as i know them, are not currency. They are essentially bits and pieces of technology (sort of like microchips to us) that have the ability to give temporal powers to ordinary things. The observatory in SE for example has time fragments on the telescope. Id imagine the time valley shovel has some time fragments embedded in it somewhere
as for why he buys them, maybe hes a collector, maybe they know something we dont, either way they aint speaking
as for this question, its unknown how long Olm live for. But if we use Bob (half-Olm) as a reference, the Olm could live for centuries, maybe 200-300 years max
bob is half-olm?
yeah, his mother was Olmic
I mean it makes sense
I thought his mom was a normal schmuk
his adoptive mother was, his bioligical mother (who we fight in the sewers) is Olmic, we can tell because of the wither skeleton, which only Olm have anatomically
not heard of this either
yeah, not a well known fact but the Olm all have wither skeletons instead of normal pale ones
looked through the wiki, thought it mentioned something about it there. Couldnt find anything, but its more of an environmental detail - u find wither skulls in known Olmic sites, notably the SE and i think the Dernel temple
nothing ever described bob's bio mom as being at all abnormal
imo if bob is truly half olm then it's far more likely his dad was an olm
the dude was absent and nobody ever recollected seeing him anywhere that I know, so he could look like anything and it still not contradict any lore
https://wynncraft.fandom.com/wiki/Witherhead
found the wiki page. Apparently Deus confirmed a while ago that the Olm have black bones, though cant find the actual quote
Witherhead, the "Black Plague of Ragni," is the final boss of the Decrepit Sewers dungeon, the first dungeon in the game.
Witherhead is first encountered during the Sewers of Ragni quest, in which she is briefly sighted at numerous points in the old sewer tunnel, which is also infested with undead like the Decrepit Sewers are. After unsealing t...
odd
I figured that her being unusual would've been noted somewhere
me too, i thought there was some dialogue somewhere but couldnt find anything
gosh old witherhead with that goofy goofy smile im glad we have the current one
do we really trust the wiki
when like 90% of wiki stuff is not yet updated from 1.20
Witherhead, the Black Plague of Ragni, is the final boss of the Decrepit Sewers dungeon, the first dungeon in the game.
Witherhead is first encountered during the Sewers of Ragni quest, in which she is briefly sighted at numerous points in the old sewer tunnel, which is also infested with undead like the Decrepit Sewers are. After unsealing the...
Tbf he never went that far in. That map is literally just some old maps.
map went at least to that last turn in the road before EO
If he did we wouldn't be here discussing with him for the second time
Except that is not His map
Like he did not make it
Ok but then what the hell does "short while ago" meant
Also how did they get their hands on this map
who said that and when
You literally said this map was made "short while ago"?
Short while, a while same thing
I found my wording
"quite a while" means a long time
I guess we just have different scope of a while then
also
while in general does not mean a short amount of time
it just means an ambiguous amount of time in general, with the usual use not implying it be that long
often used to meana short period of time but does not necessarily mean that
Exactly? But then how is that possible if they entrance is sealed for centuries
the last group is the one that sealed it
I think that was stated in the quest?
or at least alluded to
Lemme see
last person or group having done their thing a long time ago, with the actual range being left ambiguous
hence the use of the term "quite a while", which also means an ambiguous amount of time except for that it's considered a long amount of time
