(Which, obviously arenāt crystals but still)
Did I miss a section
Also in ???
Itās all just meteor lore in that quest, no?
the discovery i linked explains it all
here's one of the logs
Research Log No. 58, Dr. Helmund
Ever since the departure of the brothers, our experiments have halted here. What's left of their notes is completely incomprehensible.
However, I was able to make something of it and run a few experiments of my own. The results were... fascinating.
The purple and blue meteor shards seem to represent primal forces - chaos and order respectively. And together they form balance.
But, I have not yet been able to connect this with the lake's rejuvenating properties. I will need to run more tests. Results coming tomorrow.
Report closed.
They were informed that the crystals were in Wynn so they left the Gylia project
then why are the meteors the same colors as the wynnex crystals
they could have been sent to gavel for them to study or smth
Because itās a coincidence?
Thereās not really a lot of non-complex colors to choose from
Thereās red, blue, yellow and white meteors
Are you going to tell me that the red and yellow meteors are connected to the WynnEx crystals as well?
theres a shit ton of white meteors
there's only two blue meteors
theres 1 red
and 1 yellow
sohso can't have just studied a random white meteor
it had to have been a green one
even if it is a coincidence
Oh wait no Sohso didnāt study any
Only the other three were scientists
Purple and Blue specified 3 and Sohso in ??? was also implied to be unaffected
i dont see any 3 brothers mentioned in purple and blue
wait found it
"Though, I mustn't forget that three of the greatest minds of our time got lost to cosmic powers..."
im sure thats a typo
no way there would be 4 brothers and 1 of them isn't a scientist
you may as well make sohso non canon at that point
cause whats the use of him in the story
I really need to find inspiration to how olmic stuff should look
Heās the one thatās out to find a cure
Thatās⦠his purpose
Heās like, the āsurvivorā
Heās the continuation of the storyline
You canāt just call something that doesnāt support your theory a typo dude
Sohso wasnāt one of the brothers who was studying the meteors, thatās why ??? explicitly states that he didnāt go crazy from meteor influence
There are a few secret discoveries, one in Time Valley, and a few in the Silent Expanse that show the skins/looks of the Olm.
nah I meant the artifact and stuff
clothing for the olms I pretty I got that handle
it just not much reference to their style
there whatever floating bit garoth has
Now looking at the buildings, their style could be based off gothic architecture? But yeah other then that, not a lot of information.
What of Theorick, angry village, and other such similarly effected animals
they are more influenced by corruption than being entirely overtaken by them
it's more "early" stage
because the thing is
if we say a person is corrupted
the term become very confusing because we also grouping people who just paranoid by influence of corruption yet still recoverable to literal undead that too far gone
it like what happen if you refer cancer patient without the stage
also it seems like from what I can recall
these people never refer as corrupted as more of influenced by it
Like I only ever remember corrupted refer as the undead
Ig the only one that had been corrupted and wasnāt undead was pre-TLS Garoth
Yeah but that no longer canon and he turn into a lizard so like
it
diffuclt to say
Actually, idk how effected Arak is, but she could potentially be a corrupted spider queen. That, or some strange lava spider that needs some explaining to why she is a lava spider
Nope
I pretty sure she just lava spider
I talk to CT about it and she not suppose to be that connected to corruption directly
also if she is undead
she would not be able to reproduce
cause like
she would be fucking dead
that does famously stop reproduction
so what will the lore be around our player characters going back into Fruma, the home land they were exiled from?
Gotta wait
Ew. The player has magic. Send him to wynn
That pretty much sums up all the lore we have regarding the player's time in fruma
actually now that I think of it that's really just speculation
cuz like
we have no flashback segments of the player
idk
and only flashbacks we get are aledar tasim and reynauld
power through a mountain into fruma and disguise yourself as a normal person easy
so far the teaser kinda imply we been invited but IDK it's teaser so take it with grain of salt
there are many idrection that can be take here
because the thing is that if we enter Fruma in illegal way that some people though of
we gotta also think of how the gameplay would be like since players gonna going around into towns and probably do what they do often in town
but context would be much different since you are pretty much criminal so I kinda wonder how would that work
but then again it also possible we enter fruma in legal way and therefore overworld guards are not hostile to us
there definitely a lot to be consider here
yeah and the context is gonna change because now we have a lot of these wynn soldiers within fruma
I do think it's more of an official re-opening of the province but wonder why
Trashie becomes a lorewriter CT one day
what you mean by a lto of these wynn soldiers?
when fruma releases and everyone starts going in
both?
hard to explain because of where gameplay and lore cross in terms of multiple people
I dont think there ever comfirm there will be that many people going into fruma
also
there only one player character in lore
because here the thing
now you gotta explain how Tasim and Aledar went on adventrue with many peopel LOL
in story wise there is one player character
well yes I'm aware of that
the closet reference palyer character being in group
is in raid or EO for example
but that only gameplay reference
oh
but in the story, there ONL ONE player characters
ok disregard what I said then
I was going purely off of multiple people "following" in the main story player's footsteps
like for as you said raids and EO but those are gameplay
Just imagining Tasim and Aledar stepping out of a caravan before 2,000 players fall out like gushing water lol.
that really depend on premise of Fruma like
is it just the player character being invited
or the border actually open
that's the one thing that's hard to tell given the circumstances
one possiblity we have
given from the context of the game
is that it possibly player being send there as representative of Wynn when corruption start reaching Fruma
since in tutorial quest
we do see the border between Wynn and Fruma being overrun by corruption
and also it's good excuse for corruption to get some spotlight during late game
who knows
nobody outside fruma that's for sure
there so far not much to make a concrete theory about what could happen in Fruma
like ofc there could be the obvious overthrow monarchy plotline
but I think there also a bit of information that people tend to forget
that is like
we also need recruit program to stay intact
so the solution definitely gonna be more complex
We can deduce that the one mob designer applicant teaser image might imply that we will be potentially fighting not just aimless world mobs, but specifically placed, recurring hordes of super boss mobs
That giant knight looks pretty scary, tbh
if we enter fruma legally. what could the surface hostile mobs possibly be
like if we enter illegally everything's taken care of they'll have soldiers after us
but then cities are unsafe
uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
(Resisting the urge to talk about fanmade content in the not-fanmade lore channel)
Why lol
Half of this channel is just the trashie Wynn rework document hub anyway
Itās not a bad thing, tbh, I like that thereās a channel that can be dedicated to both fan theories, fan made rewrites, and general lore discussion
True
Who here has seen my Fake Fruma stuff
The entire province in my version has pretty much been fully-developed barring the tiny gameworld details so itās probably the next best thing to talk about regarding Fruma content while we wait for actual Fruma content
(I wish I had a better-looking map)
Point is that Iāve mapped everything out very intentionally and filled them with lore
Except for Sunscorched Valley we donāt talk about that one
Not sure what to talk about so Iāll just go in general
Chances are Wynncraft is probably going to do something similar but given the name of the Official Fruma Teaser I just went for the most obvious route and have the province be ruled over by the six sovereigns
- the Queen
The in-lore reason for Fruma giving the player a more difficult time than the Silent Expanse works, too
Any of the guards have either mega-enhanced magic via the Queen or possess Amnesia abilities, which directly translates to the Amnesia mechanic in-game so that works out anyway
Whatās the haunted woods planned to be? Is it more of a memorial ground, or a stereotypical spooky woods?
And any enemy the player fights that arenāt the humans are actually just as powerful as they are
Because Fruma is thriving with magic
Haha sometimes
(Iām kidding)
Haunted Woodlands is actually a focus of one of the 4 major Fruma plotlines
Because uh
Yeah Fruma is haunted
Like, legitimately
Over the years of ruling the past ancestors of Frumaās lower class that suffered under the harsh ruling of the empire have basically stayed behind as phantoms
Over time theyāve coalesced into countless of them
Every night on the full moon they kidnap guards and slum members and assimilate them into their ranks
The officials never figure out where they end up in (nobody actually knows the forests are haunted, they usually die before they do)
In the quest, the player basically gets hired to solve the missing people issue by the Queen (because this is post-player killed Inquisitor and saved the province events)
Interesting, like a sleepy hollow type deal
They discover the Phantoms and because plot armor, they survive
(Kidding the Phantoms are mostly just angry at the Frumans)
Only, without the witch casting a spell being the issue
brb gotta go to the dungeon and kill 30 phantom spirits
Wait brb will be back gotta do something
so the intent was that arakadikus was a normal spider in nivla 100+ years ago, which was caught in the middle of bakal's burning of nivla woods. she and her spiders took refuge within mount wynn, which granted her a sort of "blessing" to survive the blaze, however you would interpret that
blessing in quotations because theres a lot of ways to read how that could have transpired
tbh this take kinda view magic in mount wynn to be more neutral
I mean I guess the fire did not really make her and her colony web to be fire resistance
Iām curious as to how she managed to even intertwine herself with fire magic like that. There seems to be a motif of flaming spiders in mount wynn, but Arakadicus seems to have gotten the most influence out of it
probably magic in wynncraft are sometime not inherit through bloodline
Thereās that true flame thing, or whatever itās called, that you use to open the web. Maybe she had contact with that, and it somehow effected her
similar to how Dwendle did not pass his magical innate to his descendent
this may suggest that magic in wynncraft are not biological which make sense consider it more weider than that consider the law of cost
I feel like, in the case of Arakadicus, she would have to pass this innate symbiosis with fire to her offspringāat least the ones in the mountaināto keep them alive. Thereās some elemental weaknesses and resistances that may lead to the conclusion that they have some dormant fire prowess within them
A lot of them are living either within or very close to mount Wynn, which is basically a volcano. Iād imagine itās hard to live in a volcano, without some kind of heat resistance
mhm
living near volcano does not really mean you have to be heat resistance
I mean asl ong as you aren ot like
literally iving near the lava flowing
living inside one might
it directly underneath right?
then I am not sure because in updated boss
the yupdated the spawns to share her color scheme
so it likely in the future when more model updated
mean we going to have spiders similar to Akkadicus in the dungeon
one is my theory rn wait
I, for one, absolutely cannot wait for all the dungeons to be remade to better match the new, intended path they want to go. DS boss room is so nice, and I wanna see more lava spiders everywhere in IP
uh I never made the fire/lava connection with that entire dungeon
She lives in a volcano š
the idea is that the spawns that directly from Akkadicus herself
able to have her fire innate
while the spawns from nesting spiders
have less trait there for less apperant
always thought it was nearby
nope it was underneath the volcano
and her updated boss fight
she literalyl set you on fire LOL
ok I need to play the game again then talk
summary is that
the spiders that directly came from Akkadicus will inherit her magical power
hence they are similar to her color scehme
while the spider in the forest are spawns of the nesting spiders
there fore the magic may loss its potency generation by generation
Wait they have eyes hollup
Adorable
Would go hard tbh
we also ahve to treat Akkadicus and her spieces aas more like ant colony
but with spiders
so akkadicus is more progenitor of the spawns around the area
basically all trace can lead to her
she is the brood mother
while there spiders like nesting spiders that will make their own spawns
but they then act under Akkadicus
and a part of her colony
so there are some spiders that are not directly from akkadicus
but have their root from her
Arent there like, broodmothers already in world events and the first quest with Ope?
They look kinda normal
they coudl be broodmothers of that area as I say
they probably some kind of nesting spider
that have their origin trace to Akakdicus
You literally answered me as I was typing nooooooo
it possible that the nesting spiders in the forst able to make their own nesting spider spawns
and then the cycle continue on and that why the spiders in the forest has no hint of fire magic
despite being the part of the colony
but then again we also lack info of how their beed work now that i think about it
cause now I just entirely forgot to consider there also have to be anotehr colony
or wynnic spiders just capable of asexually reproduction
but consider how desperate wynn province is due to corruption
I would not even pass the idea of some spieces have to survive through inbreeding
Spiders lay a lot of eggs, like, hundreds per little egg pod. Don't look up videos of people popping those things open, I threw my phone across the room when I first saw one of those
@regal spire Hi I have returned from the thing
God that took so long
Where was I
yes that was given but again having many eggs mean you have a lot of mouth to feed
and in enviroment like wynn where corruption run wild
Right Fruma Phantoms
every mouth you not feed mean you will have undead problem
Noobs. Feed the lil guys fresh players
so it likely there some evolutiontake place
Is Arakadicus like
Just a lava spider or smth
she is spider blessed by magic of the volcano
At first I thought corrupted but she doesnāt look it
the very same magic that you use to burn her web is the one tht grant her the power
Figured
You'd think she'd safeguard against that
it has regular fire resistance
The volcano really said "nah fam you just get fire magic 'roids"
Lay on the frumie
some of the muddiness in ingame depictions of this lore will get sorted out in the future when theres time
Oh yeah
the earlygame questline is something id like to tweak story-wise
Whereās the mud emote
Okay so the main thing to note for the Phantoms is that they really hate Fruman royalty, because of their origin
This, by logic, also makes them have a massive hatred towards the highest leading position of power in the Fruma hierarchy
So
The Queen
oh yeah I forgot they do but I am saying like
they are not resistance to the same fire that grant her power
The thing is the Queen in this universe isnāt like, evil
Or at least not intentionally trying to give the province a hard time
Isnāt the queen qira lol
Ignoring the funny Qira in the forum post the Fruma Queen would assumedly be like
Okay I was about to say ānewā but sheās not really that young
New as a ruler in the context of the history of Fruma
Sheās the newest ruler, but thatās only because there hasnāt been another in a millennia
When was the supposed last one, I just put 1000 cause silly
Watch as the queen is never revealed
But that also means that she probably wasnāt really personally involved nor experienced the suffering that the lower class had under more authoritarian ruling
Queens gonna have a lil snipit from behind, or their feet or something, to spoil it
But compared to the Inquisitor sheās pretty much a saint
Jus the one dude in the trailer is all U get. Jus the one sovreign
Anyways back to the Phantoms
ik putting qira there as queen is mostly for the joke, but its hard to take it seriously as a story element
happy april fools idk lmao
I know I was supposed to be convincing people that it was real on that day but Qira Queen was too funny not to put in
The Q in queen stands for qira
Anyways regardless if you take Qira out of the picture the Queen still has relatively same attributes
Happy qiraueen
Sheās still ridiculously powerful magic-wise, so much so that the Inquisitor still needs several years of chipping away at her mental faculties to remain undetected
This is offtopic af, but I devolved the bottom of my foot a bit ago, and I still have to dance
Devolved?
De-gloved
What does that mean
Stupid ass autocorrect making me look like a moron š
When you have really tough, sweaty calluses that get caught and torn off your body, taking a lot of normal skin with you
Not really, anymore, tbh, itās just tender and bleeds a lot
Get better soon
I just keep losing a lot of skin whenever I shower
(From personal experience even the smallest wound on the feet takes forever)
Canāt, itāll happen again and again forever
: (
Idk why I do ballet, this shit hurts too much to be worth the no money and few benefits
Anyway, back to frumie
Oh ok
Uhh
Phantoms quest isnāt that big, itās only 1 quest but otherwise is the only story asides from the intro quest to Fruma that involves the Queen
Sounds like a fun concept. I like sleepy hollow esc ideas
(Is that a game)
Itās a fairy tale of the headless horseman
Each quest sorta focuses on a specific number of characters that were introduced in the Soveriegn court room thing, in the case of the Phantom story itās the Queen and Verdana
(I know Wynncraftās going to have a different name but as of this universe Verdanaās the sixth sovereign from the teaser)
I saw your forums post, but is the entrance to fruma still the same? Or will you be taken through more of the sovereigns
Theyāre supposed to be in charge of Frumaās military
But due to the Queenās nature in this AU the army isnāt really a threat to the player, since the Queen isnāt either
Well, we still meet the sixth sovereign at the entrance
They donāt let us in so we end up sneaking into the province after though
That and we meet all six sovereigns in the quest itself after
Oh, dope
Itās like a cameo but each Sovereign stars in their own quest
How many quest ideas have you planned for this?
(This is also a slight Segway into how many quests you think fruma will offer?)
Forum gifs arenāt loading
Urrrrrrgggghhhhhh
Ok here have a screenshot of a test video from Discord
Ignore the diamond sword
Ok so counting them in plotlines,
Empireās New Lie Part I and II, the province intro quest, focuses on the Queen and the Inquisitor with all the sovereigns as cameos
The Past That Haunts Us, the phantom quest that stars Qira and Verdana (yellow seat but not present in the image)
Journey to the Sun (potentially Part I and II), stars Ebrima and Tahoma (Theyāre siblings)
Is that the scorched land area?
Yeah
Well itās more fire magic plantlife but
Yeah
Everlasting Beauty, stars Candara
also known as the spawn of satan
Whatās the lore behind that? Is it natural?
Is it a battleground of sorts, and thatās what left?
Heavensent Retribution Part I and II contains no sovereigns, itās specifically the Sohso and Xingxing questline
Nah itās legit just regular plantlife
Like half the crops in Fruma are fiery
Oh, lmao
(Itās also the Fruma gathering node)
Parallel to the spice trades in Europe
The gathering materials for Fruma are Starstruck, Phantom, Blazing and Eternal
(Thereās a non-zero chance Wynncraftās just going to make the wood Auburn and itās going to be so weird seeing it have a higher durability than literal Lovecraftian wood)
Oo, knowing blazing is farming, is phantom woodcutting, and starstruck fishing?
Rats, so close
Because the Lotus Lake is Frumaās version of the Fountain of Youth
Show eternal, though, Iād love to see those fishies
Havenāt made nodes for the others
Oh, lol
Also donāt know how Eternal fish would look like
Needs to look special
Dernic having Cthulhu fish was very cool
I thought it just had purple sad fish
Oh thatās a lot less tentacles than I remembered
Well, I interpreted them as Cthulhu fish
Anyways back to Phantoms
In order to actually interact with the physical world, theyāve possessed the bodies of two corpses
A Nun or Fruman Official of some sort, to be used as a Mouthpiece to speak and communicate with mortals
Thatās really interesting
And a body of a dead Elite Guard, which it uses as physical muscle
In the event where combat is required
(Realistically though I literally just wanted to include a Cyn reference and also bring back the Death Oni)
(Seemed like good opportunity)
Canāt wait to grind 16eb per death again
I donāt have images for them but for the mouthpiece
Imagine
Actually wait I wonāt ask you to imagine that one
For the Death Oni imagine a giant hulking suit of samurai armor with a massive waraxe
Probably a black skeleton inside wearing it
Then again that design is kinda oldish
Also not an Oni so itāll probably change in the future
But yeah as short as the quest is the first half is investigating the missing individuals, the middle section is the only horror aspect of Fruma, and the last part is the phantom battle
(I already have the entire fightās design in mind)
But part of it requires me to describe the mouthpiece corpse so Iāll hold off on that for now
Iām excited to see more of it
But basically the Queen at the end arrives and sort of like, halts the Phantoms before they can continue the fight
The Phantoms at least sort of realize after a conversation that the Queen isnāt the person responsible for their fate
But like, are still kinda royal-ist because they have a massive vendetta against all of them in general
Still, she pledges her mission to bring the province of Fruma to a state where such a massive class imbalance isnāt brought to this level ever again
(Mostly better lives for the lower class, as she has already been taking steps to improving post-Inquisitor death)
This appeases the spirits for the meantime and the quest ends on a relatively hopeful note
(Ngl a lot of the modern problems are caused by the Inquisitor, the Queen just has to pick up all the responsibility after he died lmao)
Not that she didnāt do anything but the Inquisitor is second-in-position, asides from her green-lighting stuff he basically called the shots
Qira has so much on her plate lol
Call her Q
Fixed
Or ping
Iām so happy you thought of that
āWeāll be back before you can say noodles.ā
āšā
Anyways thatās where the quest ends
Ngl I have no idea how Iām going to incorporate Phantom Wood
Are Phantoms just going to be everywhere in Fruma where a tree is
You could have them be time based, or behave like WEās/random events where they spawn only at specific times
Also if this was actually real then Wynncraft hopefully has the tech to name the log āAuburnā but give the material āPhantomā
Nah as in, if all the trees in Fruma are Phantom nodes
That would mean Phantoms are all across the province instead of just the forest
And if I made Auburn Trees only give Phantom Wood after you complete this quest then itās just bad design
Probably
Or at the very least a controversial addition
In a real situation
You could intersperse phantom nodes around auburn forest, closer to the actual forest, but not actually in it
Have more nodes be accessible after the quest
No, but the woods could be blocked off
Just have them be standard autumn trees, or potential ingredient nodes instead
(Or just low level)
Would cutting them give another unique material
Have it give a unique ingredient, like the fleris trees
E but those nodes are supposed to be sparse
I suppose having all the trees be Phantom is technically fine
At least from a gameplay standpoint
(We just ignore the lore implications)
They are quite spooky, so it could work
That or go the Dernic route and only have them in one specific location
Like how Dernic Crop is only in Void Valley
That, too, works just fine
Nobody has issues with blocking off high level gathering behind AJB and AJF. Iām sure youāll be aight
Eternal fish can appear at any water body because they all connect back to the Lotus Lake
And Blazing can be found on most farmland across the province as well
Thatās such a fun concept. Flaming crops, Iād love to know more about how they operate
Starstruck appears mostly in the High Peaks region but technically the ore can appear anywhere in the province without breaking lore either because Xingxing can fly pretty much anywhere in Fruma
(It just⦠doesnāt do so often because it evades civilization)
Probably just crops with fire magic
But mostly I was at least happy that the Fruma prof mats arenāt like, thematically weaker than Dernic in-lore
How do they farm it, though? And process it? And even handle it as food, tbh
Dernicās kinda lovecraftian itās really hard to beat that
But in the case of Fruma theyāre all so chock-full of magic itās fine
Phantoms are wood infested by centuries of ancestral anger and spiritual energy
Starstruck are residue of an Interstellar Creature
Eternal fish are literally empowered by the manifestation of mother nature herself
Wow Linny coming in when I said that was absolute perfect timing what the hell
tbh whenever we do get around to it imagining some industrial dernic mining/farming operation does seem quite cool
i can just sense it
Iām going to do the classic Purple move and make a character that references 0 part of a CT except for their name
fire
Call it Yinnl
profs gamemodes and hunted three of the four pillars of chronically neglected game content š„
(Sheās called Lihnni, actually)
ok i guess gamemodes and hunted are the same but))
Spirit of the Lotus
Oh, lol, nice
Serves as the Altar Boss
Whatās the boss altar like?
Once you complete the Everlasting Beauty quest
Ok so like
Do you know Touhou
I donāt know Touhou that well but I have seen gameplay
Basically I want to go the Empress of Light route and make the battle a ābeautiful bullet hellā, in redigitās words
That being said the rainbow crystal wings do actually fit Lihnniās aesthetic so
I do really like EoL
Yeah but Everlasting Beauty is probably the shortest quest
Features Candara, the fifth sovereign along with a new character
In the altar a part of the quest, or is it a quest reward?
And itās basically the chance for me to write the most hatable character ever
Quest reward
Do go on
Candara is supposed to be like, a massive annoying asshole
But like, in a
I dunno what itās called
In like a really smug way
An egocentric kinda meanie?
Or like that really specific character trait where they do that high-pitch āohohohoho!ā laugh while putting the back of their hand below their chin
That sort of aesthetic
Or an overtly prideful kinda arrogance
Not the ohohoho
Asides from the sovereign courtroom video hereās the only other image I have of her
Itās her model in blockbench
Not the pipe š
(Disclaimer the skin was taken online credits are in the forum post)
She really is obnoxious
Yeah sheās supposed to be
Does she blow smoke in your face, even if youāre pregnant
Sheās also supposed to look really young, according to character dialogue (Because Minecraft resolution doesnāt really help with this)
look really young
(((Subtle foreshadowing)))
Probably
Does she bathe in the lily waters of forever young
She does her job as a Sovereign well enough to stay as a Sovereign but sheās really terrible as a person
Close
She drinks it?
Sheās been hogging the Lotus Lakeās immortality magic for herself for centuries
Assuming the Queen isnāt Qira here, Candara is the oldest human in the province
And no one knows it
Strange she wouldnāt know what has happened in the past, unless she wasnāt always in a position of influence
How did she discovery this property
(Also Iām tired af, I got another set of shows tomorrow, so thisāll be my last question)
The phantoms
Oh
Nobody knows about the Phantoms because they donāt reveal themselves to anyone they arenāt going to take with them
Oh, right
Maybe sheād have a better understanding of the overall state of Fruma, though, and the development it took to get to a point of noticeable strife
Also her being in a relatively privileged stats (upper class?, pre-official position) she probably never sets foot near the slums
Where the haunted region is right beside
Thatād definitely add to her being a total pos for not offering her hundreds of years of life
At least not during the full moon
Yeah lol
Anyways at the end of the quest after a scuffle of sorts she (accidentally or otherwise) gets subsumed into the Lotus Lakeās magic
And you unlock the Boss Altar to fight the Spirit of the Lotus
The Spirit of the Lotus, as mentioned earlier, is pretty much just a physical manifestation of mother nature being mad at the humans for taking over like half the valley with their wacky industrialization and settlements and all that
Oh yeah see you
is this speculation
Candara is a character made by me
The entire conversation is of a fanmade Fruma
Although yes I guess it technically does count as speculation
Figuring out how to make design Redbeard rn
I gotta remake his background a bit to add some more flavor to him
I never really get to think how should redbeard be like in Wartorn
I definitely do want to make him villager
so the dungeon boss roster are more diverse
give him a devil fruit
Reusing a lot of shit that was suppose to be in my trapper OC into redbeard for this one
cause god he desperately need to make him stand out
Fruma will surely give us SotE levels of verticality...!
not cooking with this one but I am trying to find a direction rn
Is that a Scotsman style gun for a peg leg I see?
rough inspiration by scotsman from samurai jack yeah
but kinda like thinking back rn
I probably trade for flamethrower
Imagine a cannon peg leg, and he has a chair attached to the back of him, so he can sit down and brace for a shot
I want it to be corkian because like
I want to do give off that mixed culture that ocean has
again the current design rn did not go through I need to think more later
gotta love weird shrimp
straight up back when eco resources were being made and people were asking about weird fish for dernic resource I put forth anomalocaris
and lo and behold
ANOMALOCARIS
ANOMALCARIS
This is a tribute to Earth's first super predator, and without doupt the strangest predator to ever live, anomalocaris. The song is Bring me to life, and is by Evanescence.
This is my first tribute vid, so I hope you like it. And as always, all pictures belong to their respective owners.
there's way too much wasted space on random grass and water to make a lot of sense
Which spaces specifically
Most of the empty spaces in that drawn map will probably be filled with the minor world stuff you usually see in Wynncraft
Iām going to sound like an asshole by saying I was disappointed that it was never Cthulhu Fish but thatās a cool inspiration regardless
(Still I immediately said āOmg Cthulhu Fishā the moment I got that item in the first material bomb in 1.18)
Fruma is pretty small in terms of volume, so it needs to be dense
You have a whole empty area under peaks of amnesia which is way too big
The lake extends a bit much and just wastes a lot of space which I kinda doubt Wynn knows what to do with
in general the lake+river takes like 1/5 of the drawn area which is insane if fruma doesn't extend underground, it's just too much space that Wynn can't really do anything with besides fast travel that would make more sense over air anyways
discussion of lore
Its probably a lot more compact or even just bigger than we've been told (by volume) originally to make sense with how long it's been worked on
Not ocean
thereās like 1 quest
The ocean is huge with nothing there, they said fruma is SE size but more dense
what is the most content dense place rn
okay but. you can understand how this isn't really relevant, right
one area being content-dry doesn't mean all areas will be content-dry
yeah
but i feel like there could have been more content in the ocean
tbf it is an ocean
Probably molten peaks area
not least of which comparing what is probably one of the most content-lean areas in the game to an upcoming one that has been literally stated to be dense and full of stuff
2 cities surrounded by ahmsword, thesead, the hive, 2 lootrun camps, TCC raid, ECT...
the last time Maro got anything meaningfully new was when Zhight Island got added
back pre-gavel
Sure, I've updated the mobs and made you go there for ToL, and it's gotten a whole bunch of good mining nodes, but like...there's still so little to do there
you updated the mobs?
and even those updates were likr 5-7 years ago
o
Remove climbing helmet req
Please
Its so shit
there is very little content in the game that's so un-updated
as maro peaks is
like, the only other place I can think of that's that old is Sarnfic
maybe Dead Island
have you done Beneath The Depths
The only use Maro peaks has is being a hidden quest requirement for the climbing helmet
i did all the quests but i donāt remember exactly
wait
is that the thing under the ocean
Sarnfic is the city sunken into the underwater cave you go through to get the treasure to complete the quest
o
That doesn't count tho, it's basically a quest area
when was last time tutorial was updated
I was comparing age, not content density, when I compared maro to sarnfic
few months ago I think
how often does it get updated
because the last time i did it in 2023 and then when i did it august this year i donāt remember the mobs looking new or it teaching you to use spell and stuff
tutorial is really important for first impressions so it gets lots of little updates from time to time
makes sense
Selvut...
Don't dodge it...
Everyone knows Maro peaks climbing helmet req sucks
Sarfnic*
*yr'uoe
(I remember it because it's Cinfras backwards)
They won't remove it until they add stalactites/stalagmites to the area so you can't land safely on the "dangerous cliffs"
(actually they'll probably not remove it and give it a Major ID to make you immune to those damage types)
The ice nations has basically been exactly the same since conception, beyond item balances
In all honesty, a lot of the ocean has been untouched
huh is that where te name came from or something or was that just a coincidencr
The lore goes even deeper but basically, yeah
Fruma will probably use a lot of vertical height to its advantage as well
For mine, the high peaks do have a lot of mountains, and the long path from the Journey to the Sun, Sunscorched Valley and Teitull is one long trek up to a really high height
Lots of opportunity to add things directly below them
no
it's a dumb name but not That dumb
at least it's better than cities where it's actually just a dev's name backwards like at least scrambled for goodness sakes
detlas gets minus points because my autocorrect keeps trying to correct it to "Dallas" and it's an AI autocorrect because Windows so it pisses me off
Oh wait I donāt think Iāve ever mentioned this
But Phantom Wood as a name isnāt completely derivative from the fact that the woods are haunted, itās also based on this
Mostly because the way to get this wood compared to all the other trees in the game back then sort of lowkey blew my mind
Or at the very least fascinated me
Not sure why itās called Phantom Wood tbh but in my version it at least makes sense
(Phantom Wood is a banger name though)
gwhar
hot DOG
that is, assuming we get to demolish at least 50% of this by rampaging through it
We caused the rebuilding of new taloka clearly the world has a debt of 1 town to us
Lol
hey i played this game before
made like 50m off of phantom wood and quit
i never bothered to get gold wood though
or cave crawler
Okay so far I got like red beard as sort of cult + pirate idea gojng on
And Fire and Water
The idea of hjs presence mark by boiling water could be cool
Thats.. just Salted backwards
So its against what he was talking about
yes I am aware
i mean the only ones that have a dev's name backwards are 2 of the ones named after the original 3 admins
Fun meta-facts about Recipe for Disaster:
- there IS a canonical ending for the quest, that being the player helps Brie. This is confirmed by Astralus, who we encountered in Brie's questline throwing us onto the moon to collect moonsalts, berating us again during the Sky Island lootrun, sending us onto a comet
- due to Recipe for Disaster being the required quest to unlock the Juggler's fast travel to Ahmsord, it implies Chef Hamsey is actually the ruler of Ahmsord. This is because all of the other quests which unlock Juggler fast travel involve the rulers of their respective cities (Thesead's Mayor, the King of Rodoroc, Aldorei's Elders), as well as the Juggler alluding to conducting diplomacy with the four towns to set up the fast travel
Source: me trying to make sense of in-game mechanics
does ahmsord even have a government
or is it just hamsey who somehow rules the place
Ahsmord is a town so its gotta have a government like the rest of the towns in wynncraft. Problem is theres 0 mention of who actually rules Ahmsord
therefore its actually Hamsey who rules the town with an iron fist (and oven mitten)
Itās said to be occupy by rich traders
And also lived by adventurer
It portably still in control of villager government
Like every villager settlement in gavel
really? where does it say that?
found the wording: "The central city of the Sky Islands, Ahmsord is home to the wealthiest of traders, and the most revered of adventurers". I dont think this is implying its ruled by wealthy traders/adventurers, just that its inhabited by them. Then again I could be misunderstanding whats being said here. As for ur other comment, yeah Ahmsord is part of the villager government of Gavel, I was arguing we didnt know who the mayor of Ahmsord was. Maybe theyre a wealthy trader, maybe theyre even Hamsey, theres little to go off
Honestly letās just say it ruled by government cause I feel that make more sense
I donāt thjnk it ruled by farmers and adventure cause like
That imply
Everyone living there ruled the town
Including like adventure who proabbly living in there for 2-3 days
I rather not have ham say cause that like
Have gordon Ramsay be ruler of England
The mayor could simply be just someone that the government find suitable to manage the town
And that it
I donāt think they could be trader because like
They actually have to organize trade and manage otjer stuff
Like airship
I'm guessing it's something like how elusive the King of Troms is
We never see the mayor of Ahmsord because he's bogged down with paperwork
or maybe because he's Siegfried.
only joking
kinda funny they said this while cinfas has the biggest airport of all in the realm
Ahmsord has a larger airport, but you don't get to use it, human
is superman cannon
or was there just some guy locked away in the secret twain prison through a secret door in a grave that required a magic hat to even get close to
who happened to be named kal-el and who liked green rocks
I mean other than that all the other aliens are only from the moon no?
IDK if this question is serious or not
bt if it true I feel like
I feel that a joke LOL
There wybel and Wocs
aren;t they both lunar
no because we know Wybels are sapient
so like having htem act like that in moon would be weird
and that would imply therel ike 3 sapient spieces on the moon
which would be weird cause like
it's a moon nowhere it c an house that much civilization
??
humyns literally live on the moon and they appear sapient
why not though
that like a lot for something that size
because of the space
even then they did not comfirm to be from the moon
we know that Wybel is sapient but like
if they all only have like one town worth of people
it would notm ake sense if they acting as a pet on the moon LOL
well consider how much we see wybel in the world, imply they capable of mass reproduction
like
there so much wybel
I highly dbout wybel in their native enviroment would be less in number
No the only species on the moon is Wybels no?
the Humyns are just there cuz their ship crashed or something
oh that also like
there also the fact that those also not native to the moon
they crash landed there
oh, I missed that lol
and the Wocs are from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb
OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb (known sometimes as Hoth by NASA) is a super-Earth ice exoplanet orbiting OGLE-2005-BLG-390L, a star 21,500 ± 3,300 light-years (6,600 ± 1,000 parsecs) from Earth near the center of the Milky Way, making it one of the most distant planets known. citation: I'm a Woc
I trust you dw
ok so there are 4 confirmed alien races
that are (or were) in wynn
Wybel, Humyn, Woc, and Eyefolk?
oh 5
in wynn
I feel like superman is a joke
the thing is like
sometime yo gotta accept that CT at that time
were just fucking around
as well as the beginning of AJB
it's there
but it like
hard to explain in canon
sometime you gotta accept it is what it is and CT just fucking around and having fun
also BYG too
it's there but some CT will tell you it's non canon
BYG?
if you want superman to be canon then sure yeah
Beyond the Grave
I meant BTG or whatever
- lands in wynn
- has superpowers that are not magic
- the twains lock him up either to study or cause he's crazy
it about the entire quest not being canon or something
whawa why not though
I mean sure if you going for narrative that Twain once lock up super alien in their prison
Depend on who you ask
that why I say like
just come up with your own conclusion or just accept that sometime CT just goofing it off
for me I dont accept BTG as canon because it remove a lot of stake from the story
Trashie what are you doing to Skien's Island in your rewrite
they put an explanation for why the player experience is different to what the NPCs see, it is patching plot holes, why would BTG not be cannon
it explains why you have infinite plot armor
I dont really care either but for me I dont like BTG for my own personal reason
death is death, slly things like time and technological development do not matter
I mean there are so many TVs in game it's just that most of them are used by more advanced species
the Wybels have a TV
the uh
do the Wocs have a TV?
I think the Wocs have a TV
Again I donāt really bother to remember much to why btg is non Canin
I got my own reason to not like it
#freekrolton
If we make the events in Death's Realm non-canon then we also have to make the entirety of Shattered Minds and most of The Canary Calls non-canon because it's just you dreaming up shit
Shattered Minds is okay
ok sure
kinda annoying but okay
Is it? Because I feel like cinfas airport are more grand
Ahmsord is pretty grand tho
and it would have cross province travel if we could use it prob
Does ahmsord even has an airport
should cannonically
instead we have juggler fast travel for... reasons ig
yeah
you see part of it in A Thousand Meters Under
and another part in Hero of Gavel
Ahmsord do have airport but tbh it kinda hard to tell since like every single space in the city could be airport LMAO
look out for the "Anti Airship Golems"
Ahsmord is weird city to me
there's a bunch all over Ahmsord
it barely look like a city
but also it not
still not sure where living space
I can imagine it's a fancy place where all the rich would buy a house too since I think floating landmass would make for nice scenery
and also main travel for that region would be airship which is expensive
yknow there's a town in Europe somewhere where all the houses got a driveway one one side and a taxiway on the other connected to the local airport
lemme see if I can find a picture
ok
anyways that's what I think about Ahmsord
ok
juggleri s funny so lmao
in Ahmsord you don't have a stable for your horse, you have a dock for your airship! Would move there but it costs too much.
ok
ok
Ahsmord probaly need some rebuild cause I feel like it could be expand more
autosmord
are the corruption and decay the same thing
no
completely different thing
ok thanks
both fill the role of "evil spreading thing on the land" and both have darkness involved but beyond that they're different
Decay is like when the light the area has become dependent on to survive has been stripped away, and left everything to, well, decay
technically not darkness like the force described, just the absence of the force of light where it was once present, caused by the dark parasite
the corruption is like the aftermath of the light and dark warring on a different plane leaking into wynn, corruption is actually a mix of both light and dark, and is more or less just cosmic violence manifested in the physical world
i think i knew that
yunelsu miliyus xoeinbor and peloros all say it if you talk to them after finishing their tasks
āWho you callin big nose, big nose?ā
they use "grubs"
is the mycelium-block material in the worst parts of Kander the same material as the ground of the Eyeball Forest
Since the trees are clearly well on their way to becoming Eyeball Trees you can already see the shape in the leaves
Oh wait are they lol
I never noticed
(The trees becoming eyeball trees)
they sorta look like it
the leaves on the kander trees
balls
"balls" - 2005_LB_390_OGLE /j
they are in fact balls
eyeless eyeballs if you will
while some other things here may be ballless eyeballs
Yes, correct. There's an entire secret discovery on the origin of the eyeballs as well! Just the single word got me xD
which happens to be one of the worst secret discoveries imo. Ah yes the obelisk that the light erected to counteract the Eldritch of the Silent Expanse made a fucking forest outta eyeballs with the eyes it got from the Lutho citizens
Ah yes making eye horror eldritch shit is perfectly in character for the light
I thought that the darkness made use of the eyeballs and created a forest for them, not that the light made the forest itself.
Could be wrong (I mostly am)
The only lore I know best is my own and D&D (which is why I'm doing a D&D version of Wynncraft).
my understanding is
the forest itself is older than the presence of light in gavel, but then the light came in and started helping this native life to the point of dependance
then once the light was eaten away by the parasite, that which was too dependent on the light started withering and, well, decaying
and the new growths we see is, possibly, whatever was growing in the forest before the light showed up
that and the parasite's brood tunneling around
The obelisk only protects their souls. Their bodies are at the whim of darkness, and, without a soul, the body has nothing to protect it anymore, letting The Eyeās influence take full control
Kander shouldnāt actually get eye trees. Iām fairly certain this is specific to SE
Something about The Eye makes it specifically influence the area the way it did
what I'm saying is the only darkness in the decay is from the parasite-ling things
everything else is just absent of light
possibly absent of anything, givent he light that filled it so entirely for so long was stripped away and left it all hollow
There might be some dernic influence, because this place has a lot of very specific dernic entities, but it is mostly decayed
1 dernic entity type only no?
the little baby parasites that came from the origianl bigger parasite
nothing else there is dernic
Actually, quite a few. Kander is also a denizen to the shades, which are specifically described as dernic
wait they are?
Also, basically every entity in Kander has some kind of dernic origin
Yeah, blade of shade has a lot of lore behind their physiology
so ig the decay had the light removed then the dark added?
Itās definitely the most specifically effected by Dernās influence
courtesy of the parasite and its brood ofc
SE is far more affected, but thereās a lot more influence from the eye messing with the look of enemies
Missed the days when everyone thought that Blade of Shade was a werewolf
Wasnāt it a werewolf, though
It was changed some time before 2.1
I sure thought so
me when english has words with extremely similar meanings but are one letter apart fron each other and almost nobody can tell them apart
Engrish har har
affected by the english effect, if you will
Eyerish
affect is a verb effect is a noun that's the real difference
as to why, I have no clue, english has plenty of words that serve both parts of speech
Oh, lol, didnāt even realize I did that
Cause and effect vs this affected me
Technically, depending on how you word and read the sentence, it can work
is the Eye behind the existence of the Eyeball Farmers near Gelibord
No, thatās just another aspect of Dern
Likely how it had an āeffectā on the viscera dumped around Kander
Especially with the way the Lazarus Pit works
nope
it DID get a new skin but its old skin was also never a werewolf
Thatās crazy. What was the skin before?
I couldāve sworn it had a werewolf skin
(I know it isnāt supposed to be a werewolf but when most people sees it as a werewolf the skin probably just really resembles a werewolf)
the head i used for it looked more like a gaunt, skull-like face in a hood, but other people apparently assumed it was a werewolf because it asked werewolf tails. there's a skeleton enemy in a cave near troms that still uses the head for the same kind of scorched skull look
The werewolf tails do help yeah
But in addition to the fact that the face really does look like a werewolf lol
the fact that the shade lurkers in kander spawn in the same locations as the werewolves and venerable werewolves gave the subconscious assumption that these guys were also werewolves
(Iāve seen the jungle enemy but that caveās really obscure and you only see the guy for like five seconds anyways)
@regal spire I donāt have a clear image of old Blade of Shade hereās some weird angles
But yeah people (including me) saw that as bushy black eyebrows and a snout
And I get that the gray skintone is still valid for a skull but like
Weāve seen like thirty grey furry werewolves at this point it was only inevitable
Yeah, I knew it has features close to the werewolves around Gelibord
I see what itās supposed to be, now, but thatās really hard to tell, especially with the werewolf tails kinda screwing with preconceived perceptions
(I still canāt see a skull lol)
The regular-ass eyes are throwing me off hard
That and the nose
(Which Minecraft skulls never have, btw)
The 3 dark grey pixels at the bottom of the head kinda help me see it
then, or presently? cause shade lurkers didnt even exist in kander at the time
they were in the dark forest not kander
Oh right dark forest, sorry
Got it mixed up
and werewolves only ever showed up in kander
Wolves have that dark line for their mouths as well
but yeah. i always saw that as a scorched skull with horns
Horns?
the gray bits on top you thought were ears
not super relevant anymore since lurkers are very definitely distinct now yeah
Did make a funny video out of it though
still ain't get it what's a lurker
lurkers are shadows coalesced around a particular point. when some particular item becomes inundated with a certain kind of magic to the point that it can no longer hold it, they expand out and create a lurker. as lurkers become stronger they can hide that vulnerable object underneath other shadows. when their form becomes destabilized through damage, that point expels more of its energy, and it sloughs off into a new one, which absorbs the energy of the destabilized previous form and becomes stronger, but this may cause its point to become exposed, at which point they're vulnerable to destruction. they can do this at will but most don't. the more power they hold, the more they can split and absorb energy and thereby keep themselves alive. if given enough time the split lurkers will be compelled to rejoin themselves. and the more magic held, the more their shadows coagulate over each other and crystallize. they know instinctively that their point is vulnerable and that they can absorb the powers of other lurkers, as they're all made from the same kind of energy, so different strengths of lurkers will hunt each other. lurkers on the same level from each other will typically not hunt each other- a coinflip chance is not a risk they would take. hence why the weakest, the night lurkers, stick to picking off enemies from a distance while shade lurkers, who are stronger, are willing to get up close and personal to attack at melee. and the blade of shade is the strongest lurker, head and shoulders above all other lurkers, being the first and only one to Fully Awaken
So can we create lurkers given a way to inundate an object with that magic
or would it take a more magical species
say Elves
i mean, if anyone found out this knowledge in-universe and was able to channel that Certain Kind Of Magic and had the Particular Item nevessary, yes
How particular of an item
fairly particular
and is there a way to identify said item
since at least some reliks can clearly be inundated with some magic seeing Panic Zealot
still wroking on redbeard redesign and need to fix up his color later
to Identify, no, to identify, yes
but rn I am working on the idea of warlock pirate
not item identifier I mean
pz's animation and lurkers' animation are distinct
so it's not the same kind of magic
so whatever the magic that creates lurkers, it's not raw dernic magic
and is there anyone in the game world who would be willing to divulge this information both of obtaining an item suitable and of the ritual needed to create a lurker
ah
anyway there arent any homegrown lurkers
if there were, could one be made stronger than the Blade of Shade
if you fed it well enough with other lurkers
like, potentislly
but thered probably be much easier and more efficient ways to make a dangerous monster
maybe
alright
and with corkian technology be we mass produce lurkers given the knowledge of how to make one
oh?
if you want to make lurkers as guards you can forget it. being made by you wouldnt instill any loyalty
oh no not guards
oh and how cheap could this be made
reading this so I can use this lore for this guy
and how small
I'm looking for something that could fit in a medium sized room
but if necessary, I could take something the size of Llevigar
actually the size and shape of Llevigar
would be nice
i wouldnt imagine them to exactly be EASY to budget
but yknow a medium sized room would be nicer, less scaffolding necessary
i mean, lurkers are roughly humanoid in size so
I mean, for a factory to mass produce them
mass production sounds like it would be unfeasible
doesn't need to be super mass
Shine a flashlight at them
yeah that would not be possible
what's the minimum
i think were getting into a level of granularity that is damaging to consider
well in any case as long as they can be contained for long periods of time we could probably wait for enough to build up and then send them out as a massive wave
since after all they don't attack other of the same strength, no?
not typically but they do start from the bottom
so they have to take risks at some point
that's the nice thing about lurkers they're smarter than some Other monsters I know
in any case could a factory of reasonable speed be made smaller than Llevigar (vertical space should be mostly irrelevant)
.
alright
well assuming everything works out
do you think we could teach the dern beast a lesson about immigration control
Hell it's even better each phase of Blade of Shades increases in health as it duplicates, and it has 16 copies at the end
If you strengthen that how many could you get out of a level 120 lurker? 6 duplications? 8 duplications? Imagine it's powerful enough to split into 128 copies, if you send in 100 at a time, by the time they've scuffled themselves down to their last phases you have 12 thousand lurkers crowding the Realm of Dern
they don't even have to fight other things if they just attack each other and split that way
And what's the Dern Beast going to do about it? Attack them, oh look the population just doubled
Oh and of course we keep sending more and more
what if the silent expanse is an alternate dimension
what you mean
did you know there's a whole realm for that
Weird coincidence
would an Obsessor be able to dispatch theorick / fake death / gale as easily as it does a gullible player? š¤
Theyāre just organic beings with magical prowess, so the first 2 yeah. Gale idk, because theyāre a ghost, but probably
They could all also fight against an obsessor, because they all have armor/protection against it (you need skin to skin contact with it, presumably, to actually effect you)
