But twain lore states that some people are just born with magic or smth
Maybe he just found one?
Oh place shoot
Ya it doesn't make a lot of sense
the way he talk about it in discovery imply it not just one
and more like civilization of magic
Ya ik
It's cooked
so closet thing is jungle atives
honestly my take is that jungle natives are decedent of olms
I like the idea of after escaping from Dern
Olms were before hashr time?
yeah olms were there before any human step into the province
There could have been something like the twain family back then
But bigger
We can't really tell
But if we take what hashr says as canon
That means it's canon that there was an ancient civilisation that knew magic in Wynn
yeah but like
we dont really know that so the only thing we can go off is what we know
which only option being jungle native
I like my headcanon of there being an ancient magic civilisation
Also jungle natives are like not friendly iirc
huh?
what you mean
Iboju tribes is friendly
so as Entamis tree tribe
They even help Troms establish their citilization
Troms literally have their library as templ eof legends
I'm not sure we know of a time they didn't exist and they exist to this day
I'm trying to find a pinpoint earliest known year we've seen them but Wynncraft hasn't told us much about them timeline-wise
we really dont know much about the Olm. Theres unconfirmed theories they were ultimately destroyed in 1400 BP but as of now its just theories. As for when they were created/moved into Wynn, we quite literally have 0 clue
how are there theories of the olm being destroyed in 1400BP/2400 years ago? they still exist to this day ingame
mb, i phrased it wrong. Olmic civilization may have been destroyed in 1400 BP, not the Olm themselves. In short, I think the Gylia meteor crash and the Silent Expanse fireball happened at the same time, one bringing magic while the other bringing darkness
ahh okay
Is darkness not magic
Also one came from space while the other came presumably from Dern
it was named after the song Cruel Sun by a band called Rusted Root
Annihilation forming New Sun implies that Annie is responsible for the creation of outer space as we know it
So in short the existence of light and darkness are kind of meteor related? xd
Also what? I thought they went extinct? The only place I’ve seen the olm is in the ancient city but idk why but it feels like.. fake idk
Bc there are passive ones
qq, do you know how to put metal into a fire to make it melt? do you know how to put pencil to paper and draw?
just answer honestly n go with it
more or less yeah
Tbh that actually makes a little bit of sense…bc just having the world be like split into light, darkness, etc. feels odd, it makes more sense if they came from somewhere else and then used our would as the battleground
*world
The reason why Orphion doesn’t want 100% control is weird then tho idk
actually it would be a little interesting if after defeating Dern, orphion goes for world domination and you have to then stop the light and banish it from taking over, bc iirc there’s also realms for the elements that exist(?) peacefully rn
same reason as the fact that there were tons of pro-slavery Border Ruffians before the American Civil War but very little effective anti-slavery equivalent
@digital swan
uhhh I have a furnace and crucible somewhere
so, you know how to melt metal in a fire, and use a pencil to draw things?
do you think with that basic knowledge, you could on your first try create a full flawless set of armor, or make a museum-worthy artwork
Do we know why that funny place West of Cinfras is named The Forgery
Are the terms “Forgery” and “Forge” synonymous with each other?
Like, Forgery refers to a copy but can it also refer to a location where you forge things
nah, but give me 800 years to practice and I'd say it's a bit over a 50-50
Probably because forgery kinda looks like a forgery sorta atmosphere type thing
Forge also can refer to copy anyway
What
What does a forgery sorta atmosphere mean
maybe they choose Forgery instead of Forge because it sounds cooler despite the different meaning
it should just be called a Forge
I mean they Are fake copies no
what's they in this context
could be the dungeons now that I think about it
the dungeons being copies of the actual dungeons?
I see where rusted root got its name, then
I think you are underestimating the difficulty here tbh especially with zero guidance other than "here have some powers, deal with this please" especially given her enemy was also getting stronger
Omg thanks you
I think it’s justifiable she does what she does for the first encounter. Her second one, with the life of someone she cared about on the line, that should’ve been more than enough to call for action.
It also doesn’t help that Dullahan is shown to consistently reaffirm with her multiple times that she needs to kill this thing, no matter what. It’s the fact that she does have an outside perspective to lead her to doing what she is supposed to do, in the form of Dullahan, but she outright refuses it, and even deceived him
That’s what made her the most infuriating to me, because given the circumstances, she has no reason beyond something selfish to do what she did. Heat of the moment or not, this is a second chance to fix her mistake, and she outright refused to do it, this time
And, it’s actually a super interesting concept, because you have a ton of potential there to build “ego”, and portray her as someone who genuinely believes that this is the only way, and actively dismisses the perspectives of others, purely because she was chosen. It doesn’t even have to be a noticeably arrogant portrayal, but it could be so interesting to see how a submissive, egocentric personality works
Someone who “listens” to others, and will agree with them, but won’t respect it, basically nodding and yes-ing, because she just genuinely believes her position outweighs their perspective
Since NOBODY seems to get it, I'll explain
Killing = evil
Lari knows this.
Lari thinks that if she kills, she won't be accepted by the light (Orphion) and thinks that the only reason she wasn't accepted previously was because of her lack of something else.
isnt lari dead somehow
Getting accepted by the light is more important to her because she was previously 'chosen' and places her duty above the lives of friends and family because she knows the ultimate goal is to protect others and get rid of the corruption.
No? She just gets kidnapped after RoL5
where is lari home
I mean, Orphion could’ve been the tiniest bit clearer and clarified to Lari in like a single sentence or smth
I mean his literal life was on the line here it’s kinda his fault for not saying “Yo Lari pacifism is not an option kill the damn thing”
- That was part of the test.
- If Orphion (a being of pure good) told you to kill someone, you'd think it was corrupted already because only evil kills.
Is it actively stated that she believes “only evil kills”? Because that would be a really strange sentiment for a being who is interconnected with nature. She’s also seen the RoL, and has witnessed its ecosystem. There’s clearly hierarchies and roles that need to kill, but aren’t evil
How would she have seen the realm of light before RoL2 (where she's declined once again, while the player is accepted)
She has stated specifically in RoL 5 that she’s been there before
Ahh ok. I forgot that part
It’s aight
killing = evil unless it saves the lives of others
I would gladly pull the lever
But, that’s another part to mention: we don’t really know why she thinks this way. Her perspective is not at all shared throughout a majority of elves. The elders might actually be the reason she even got access to the RoL, and subsequently assumed her role as Orphion’s protector
and in this case it's wayyyy more than saving 4 lives overall
Beyond that, we don’t know what she went through and experienced to be deemed a worthy choice. We haven’t a single clue as to why she sticks to her passivity, and why she refused to fight back. It’s all shown in bits and pieces, where she’s just shown failing and refusing to take action where it was most necessary, ultimately being given 3rd party perspectives to what really happened
That’s, ultimately, her biggest flaw. We just don’t have enough of what she truly went through to get a reason for why she thinks and acts the way she does
How to kill a deontologist: give them a gun and attack them with a knife
I think the first part of a Lari rework is just showing why she is a pacifist. Give us some more info on what Orphion may have mislead her on, and it would make a lot of what she does easier to justify, beyond it being she has an ego
but then we have to retire the chopped lari gif
What
I mean if lari isn't an arse anymore how are we supposed to hate her
ididnotknowthischannelwassorecent
wat
up
No what gif
yours
or was yours just an image?
I forget
please do make it a gif if it isn't tho I'd like to bookmark it
What do I make a gif out of this from
Also the player probably wasn’t the one who killed Lari in the full gif
i dont think this is what they are referring to by "chopped"
tho i will say im not up on slang
better yet a favorited gif
it's chopped in the sense of chopped liver
and that's good enough for me
omfg you got maturity of fucking 12 years old LMAO
im 1
It's just olm chilling in Wynn exc site d maybe slightly brain deas because of extended exposure to the crystals. It's all old lore ofc so subject to change but that is still the current ingame canon.
If the meteors are highly correlated with both light and darkness, I have no doubt that they will become important when the player eventually gets to the point where they must infiltrate the Realm of War.
After all, corruption is just the conflict between light and dark
and if we utilise the power from all meteors, we may gain some sort of ability that allows us to withstand the corruption
and we can survive in the realm without us becoming corrupted ourselves
Like a helmet 👍
(Ultra-Purified Helmet Of The Legends)
lmao
bruh
Pure Helmet of the Legend. THE Legend. The one and only Legend. The PLAYER
Are they correlated with light and darkness?
The problem is that the gylia meteor has no reason to be related to light
It has something to do with alien magic
If it was related to the light then elves would have known already
"alien" magic is referred to as cosmic magic
after some discussion with friends
hoenstly it would be interesting if player face consequence of going off duty around mid game
and all the troms storyline stuff is essentially player's punishment of going AWOL
the storyline could go like, the player send to Gavel to help with the orc war and player went missing to do all different kind of shit that they never really said to go do
I imagine at some point the player would be notify by Detlas scout or messenger that Admiral Aegis wish to see them
I can imagine he just absolutely pissed because player essentially missing without telling so anything could happen back in Wynn like for example a battle could occur that player should have participate but due to them going missing(could be reoccuring thing since player do that with Maxie's marriage)
Admiral Aegis send the player to do assignemnts in Troms as some form of punishment(One of them could be about dealing with bane of the great bridges)
and maybe after some slykaar shit going on
Maybe player could get discharge for real in someway
like maybe Admiral Aegis come to conclusion that it's far better of if player, Tasim, and Aledar operate on their own and let them continue Bob's footsteps
consider Aegis met Bob before I can imagine he could see him in the gang
and there like some narrative intnetion of making player following Bob's footsteps
I think that could allow wynncraft story to stay pretty much the same but recontextualize events in the game to make the story more engaging
I think this sounds generally like it would be interesting but not entirely fitting in the game. There is also the issue of Aledar pretty clearly working for the military at the start of ajb but that could ofc be adjusted
it has aspects of telling the player they did something wrong when there was nothing they could have done righ that I don't like
AJB also old-ish quest and this suggestion ignore the other part where wynncraft completely failed to understand how millitary stuff work
because like ofc if we talk about that this sugegestion make no sense
also yeah player did something wrong and I feel like that make the story intresting
and I see this as a way to fix the story without needing to change a lot of thing
the alternate is readjust everything like quest progression
which would be a lot of work
so this suggestion more like how to keep everything the same but recontextuialize event
I think my second message is a bigger concern though
that it probably would feel great for the players to experience
and it might give a feeling of a lack of freedom in what they should do maybe.
like IDK hwat else to say, I am speaking suggestion from the idea of arreanging quest and stuff is not an option
well in that case we can talk alot about other time player just keep being force thing they would not do
but that would hypocrite to my oriignal point where this is like
suppose to ignore other flaw stuff in wynncraft writing that would not make the idea work
the way in which the player being part of the military is portrayed in the lore can definitely be improved but I don't think telling the player what they are doing is wrong is the right way to do it.
IDK I feel like going awol is pretty wrong thing to do consider how the story goes
and I feel like so far player character being glaze a lot as this special guy kinda make the story stale cause you get like ROL where it just
keep proving players in the right all the time without challenging them anything
Beside I think palyer oding something wrong is not necessary a bad thing, it at least make thing more realistic and groudned
palyer character is not perfect and there is consequence in what they do
it's could open a lot more intresting idea to discuss
about how their absence lead to many people death becuase without them, there could be a battle that coudl be won with out them
but they aren ot there since they been helping like grandma grundle to find her new set of fake teeth off in Gavel
it also can be protray differently
maybe it not extacltly wrong thing to do but people should be reminded that they have duty to uphold as a soldier
I think trying to make palyer feel like they only doing something like just bit hand holding and not using the premise of them being recruit well
maybe admiral aegis can be understanding toward player tendency to help people no matter what even if it's not their job to do so but their absence still need to be punish or have consequence
it's always been my interpretation of the lore that the player is supposed to be out and about helping people
it is but the thing that peopel with soldiers as profession do
because they serve the army
they have bigger thing to do like getting ready to sent in a battle just wynn usually have
they cant just go aorund all over the world helping people because there just some place that needed more
So ofc there should be conseuqence when going AWOL
that like having a job as delieverman but you out there helping random people instead of doing your job
There always will be consequence
We are also just recruits that where forced to work for the military by Fruma so idk how much the rules they didn't chose are enforced on New Fruman recruits
Some moderation must be there
I agree we need clearer military lore in some way though
and it's a program after all
level of organization and moderation must be there
Wynn province is in constnat war against corruption
every man count
every chance of replenish count
if they just let recruits run wild then yeah it's an issue
espically when they dont know if that said recruits have combat experience or not
they might have send those people that freshly have their memory wipe into their death in wilderness
there have to be some level of organization and moderation
and even then ofc they going to enforce
I never ask to be born in Thailand as a man but I still have to do ROTC or join thea rmy
yet the country still find a way to enforce that
And etih Wynn province it even more important
when their enemies are raging undead with no need of logistic or morality
their enemies have advantage in everything over them
so whatever they have in their hand is important and need to be kept in moderation
They have to enforce these new recruits
cause if not that mean one of their source of recruitsment essentially wasted
and so far it does not seem like Wynn millitary are stupid or careless if you ignorte these writing flaws
they are competent
that why I just see these writing flaws as writing flaws and not millitary in Wynn province being incompetent or unresponsible
Also I dont think we need clearer millitary lore as in depth but just shown they are active
Players going AWOL? Yeah they acknowledge that and respond accordingly
why is tna named greg?
cuz he is greg
it was just a anomalies thing to name him greg in the wynn community?

If like a quarter of SE was presumably struck by large Dern fireballs then where are all the craters
If they were all aimed at the Olmic City why is the modern version still relatively intact
If I’m not mistaken, they hit buildings and created a ton of holes in most of the infrastructure.
Don’t know what happened to them after, but I think they probably sprouted into a majority of the black walls we see now
Not to mention a lot of the big spirals/fountain esc structures, like in the eyeball forest
Maybe I misremembered but I thought the only building that’s remotely destroyed is the cathedral
With the big mountain of spikes at the center
Everything else from my memory looks relatively fine, at least from the exterior
rgeg
Very nitpicky but Dern sending fireballs definitely one of the most boring execution they could have done as form of Dern attack
Feel like there could be more inspiration in making Dern feel more unknown and imposing than just big fireball lmao
But oh well it is what it is
might be the wrong place to ask this but what happens to elphaba and lucio after the first half of a journey beyond
like what happens w the items they dropped
They died
and thank goodness they did
from what i gathered, the Dern Beast's attack consisted of multiple phases (sorta like the alien invasion from Fifth Wave).
The first attack was the fireball, however it is never confirmed that it was the fireball which destroyed the SE. No lore or secret discovery text ever confirms if it was the fireball that caused everything, nor is there any evidence of a crater like u said trashie. Mere moments after that fireball is seen crashing through the atmosphere, the secret discovery scene cuts to black. Maybe that was the moment the fireball crashed, or maybe the fireball served as a distraction for the actual beginning of the Dern Beast's attack. Either way, after the first attack, Olmic central government and institutions were wiped out.
The second attack (likely minutes after the first) I'd imagine would be mutation of the ecosystem. The first creatures of darkness would emerge and assimilate the Olm. We know via the cancereater that there was still an Olmic presence simultaneously to the new Dernic resources popping up in the SE. This is also when the "beast's follower" as mentioned in the Fate of the Olm discovery existed, either as a highly mutated creature of darkness or an entity from Dern proper. In short, the terrain begins changing, the animals and plantlife mutate into entities serving Dern and hostile to Olmic life (also likely when the black spikes began popping up. This attack could have lasted anywhere from a few days to multiple years.
The third attack would likely be assimilation of the Olm. The Olm somehow avoided mutating alongside the land, either because the Dern Beast wanted them in as pristine a condition as possible or the Dern Beast simply could not mutate them the same way it did the ecosystem. Instead, the Olm would be attacked and "assimilated" into new lifeforms, from all Eyefolk to the strange beings walking the ruined city. This would be when the Olm would escape to the jungle
what happened to his skull and her torso
Why do you want to know 💀
Idk fucking gone lmao
im just confused
Tbh this is cool recontextualization but it kinda rely too much on hc territory
I just feel like Dern could be subtle and unknown with its attack than loud and obvious fireball with no subtly or unknown
I think one of my main gripe of wynncraft is that the way they protray light and dark just feel lame from the fact it does not feel all that abstract or anything
Like take darkness devil from chainsaw man for exmaple
I feel like there must be some level of abstraction for dark and light
Nol also one of my gripe because it seem like jsut a structure
I feel like something along the line of chaos realm from warhammer would work really well with what they are gojng for
Nexus of light always feel weird to me cause
Why does this otherworldly being that has no attracted no mortal concept need all these rooms?
Like I know this go against the whole abstraction nitpick thst I have
But I just feel like nol just
Like 70% of it only exidt for raid
now that i think about it, having NOL be like TNA in terms of eldritch abstraction would be kinda cool, rn NOL looks like an expanded version of Bob's reincarnation dimension
Light and dark suppose to be in opposite end of spectrum
So yes i think both of themselve deserve to be abstract
also if u want my fan theory, the Dern Beast knew the Olm could predict the future, so decided to go for a prolonged strategy to lower the guards of the Olmic civilization. If the Olm knew a fireball would appear over their city right before a cataclysm in the far future, they would look out for one. Problem is they dont know exactly when it is. So the Dern Beast lobs fireballs over the city over hundreds of years, wearing out the readiness of the Olm until he launched the last fireball. Thing is, the fireballs were never the danger, they distracted the Olm from the real invasion...
...as for what that actual invasion was, we have nothing
no idea if i explained it clearly so feel free to ask questions
Ehhh
I mean thst fine
I just like
This is very convoluted way of trying to excuse of a lame execution that is fireball cutscene
Especially I feel like it would be more horrifying if one day the olm city just engulf in darkness
each citizens were unknowingly being taken in the dark
So the survivors only hope is light source
Knowing thst if they briefly plunge into the dark they would disappear
All of this explain to you in form of a note of last few former survivor
Lock in a room with a lantern thst now been snuffed out
Nothing much to go off
All you know when the dark consume you, it take you
Dern being this overwhelming force of unknown darkness that you have nothing to go off when up against it
It feel utterly hopeless and inevitable that eventually everyone in olmic city will be taken
With everyone thst not been taken yet habe no idea what happen to those who are disappear
There is no explaination or any detial
The darkness just come and take everyone
No explosion, no blood, no violence
Just uncaring darkness taking what it want and leave the city empty without any trace as if it never been anyone home
I’ll look around again, but I recall there being a few more crumbling and destroyed buildings. There’s wear on a majority of them, anyway, but the noticeable assimilation and interior destruction points towards a lot of it being because something crashed inside, or ransacked and destroyed what was within
There’s probably crumbled and buildings I do remember some small pieces chipped off of like archways and all that
Still don’t remember anything that resembles a meteor or fireball crashing into a building though
If it did then the insides of the buildings won’t look abandoned (albeit fine, all the stuff is still in the rooms) and rather have like, impact sites
they got eaten by the worm cause you set them out as bait
whats not to understand
Anyone know who Kaas is, and what their fur is doing
All I can find on it is a Dutch translation for hardened dairy products
(Which would be funny, if the name is referencing some kind of moldy legging)
reference to one of the OG Wynn builders, Kaasjen
also remove the j and spell it backwards
I'm confused about the location of the Gylia meteors
Are we meant to assume that they're at the end of the cave in Purple and Blue?
i see
Because they look a little small
Compared to like, the Ult Discovery
That and the Ult Discovery also shows what I think are the Gylia Meteors in the cave before you see this cutscene as well
Which is kinda strange
did they dissolve in the water
Idk?????
We see them before this cutscene and also in Purple and Blue
But both are in like, completely different caves
Is one of them just supposed to be outdated or something
nikoler ATE part of them.
what's his name again
Yeah that's the Purple and Blue one
Are those the meteors?
Or is it just fragments of them
The crash didn't seem to break them apart
Also those are way too big to be fragments
Yet too small to be the actual meteors we see in the cutscene
ye I'm saying nikoler ATE them.
Oh did he lol
and so did Yahya Nohno and Mehme
combined the four of them should be able to get that much off the meteors surely(n't)
this is also why we leave nikoler to die the only other option is a long suffering and painful death by Eating Meteor
no i'm bsing
i ate nikoler
Because I want to revise and rewrite Wynncraft in a D&D setting, characters without much lore will be given more backstory elements. This is 100% for my entertainment and perhaps others who enjoy cool lore, and no means should be taken seriously. There are three things I would like to keep consistent throughout the writing.
The race/class fits with the powers which was set for the original character.
The personality of the original character is mostly unchanged in a D&D setting.
The quests/storyline are mostly unchanged from the original story.
Here is the things I've logged so far for Aledar, there may be other things I've missed.
So if you run away from Tasim while you're on your way from Nivla to Detlas during the Mushroom Man quest (spamming movement spell), he gets some bonus dialogue.
This is funniest shit that you can just diss Tasim LMAO
This reminds me of a few dialogues you get from Ava if you're progressing too fast.
This reminds me abt someone’s theory abt the meteors signifying two things, the blue ones changing your time in reality and the purple changing your position- like how in time valley you see blue rocks everywhere outside of the dungeon area etc
U guys see that custom modeled knight in the banner for mob designers, wonder if those are like the highest position of knights in fruma
The white armored one with the shield
Likely not highest
Consider how these are just teaser
It would be odd to show top enemies like this
Higher than the rest at least
What could possibly be the white stuff in the sky in the background
Yeah higher rank no doubt about that
Clouds
It stretches though out the entire area behind the gate
Maybe is a constantly cloudy industrial district
Maybe a shader bug
That looks more than likely the case
looks like its just the walls for espren or smth
Maybe snow from mountains?
I do hope Fruma ends up being the first taste of some kind of modern lore methodology
then maybe the next "big thing" is a split between endgame touch-ups (assuming Fruma doesn't address it some way itself, which I think it likely will) and changes to older content to bring everything back up to "form"
because I know the inconsistent lore doesn't just get under my skin
Tbh it seems like it is
SE kinda close but it stuck with questionable written quests and few lack luster discovery
Feel like fruma going to be the first time the ct using their full skill to tell a story
Not saying se is not but
It kinda hard to tell when ajb and ajf is
Is whatever it is
Not saying it the spawn of Satan but killing off your character without any build up or have player connected to them morr before killing them definitely a choice
The side guards are also different from the ones in the trailer
Blue and orange belt
I think they are the same
Just updated color scheme
They essentially same model with same pose
Consider tbe use of teal in fruma promotion
I think it likely that they simply updating the color of border guard
Becuase the original color scheme while not bad
It feel unalliance or generic
So the new color scheme improve thst a lot
What rank is @twin sail in her Majesty's army
Communist specialist
purely speculation
but consider what they capable of with updated Haros fight
it liekly that fruma enemies will fight in formation or have unique role during combat
probably only the case in more scripted arena fight because I can hardly see it work in overworld
imagine if they release a trailer on the 1st of April
Shadow of the Erdtree level design here we come?
No no the guy he switch profen with soem other word. And the world has changed ever since that incident has happen, dont say that medicine name
ice caps!
Really rare pretty much (form deceiver)
they only appear during SE lootruns, they are essentially that same entity which killed lucio if i remember correctly
I thought Lucio was assimilated into the obsessor hive mind
mb, yeah it was an obsessor
Basically 70% of the Lootrun Events in game have not even been recorded
elphaba was eaten by a tick or somethiung right
A big ole bug, ye
Or she fused into a bug, maybe idk it’s kinda vague
Elphalba being eaten alive, piece by piece is horrifying
(Lucio has an objectively worse fate, but it’s not super known that obsessors are kinda the worst hive mind to ever be a part of)
I mean
is Lucio still Lucio inside that hivemind
No, he’s just in constant torment forever
Basically worse than hell, and he’ll never be free, and never have his full consciousness returned to him
so he's still partially aware in there?
I figured he'd either been effectively erased or was effectively brainwashed once absorbed
because assuming it IS him talking to us in that one part, he's more been brainwashed
I’m a bit foggy on the lore of obsessors, but I do recall that their assimilation essentially incorporates a part of their consciousness into the global hive mind, and over stimulates that consciousness’s senses to far beyond what’s manageable, basically giving them no way to access any part of their brain beyond the hive mind and what it’s forcing onto you
so he became part of a neural network and is too perpetually out of it from overstimulation of the brain to fully realize what's happening/has happened to him
accurate?
Sorta, kinda
although that still doesn't explain why he said it was so great, the best he would've been able to manage is an "uuughghghhhhhhhh......." or smthn
that is unless the obsessors gave him nerve commands
It’s essentially speaking for him, forcing what he says to be the thoughts of the obsessor
oh brilliant so he was a complete meat puppet not yet biologically broken down into black goo entirely
Was that even him
it WAS his body, based on the fact we retrieve a piece of it on killing "him"
A meat puppet, but it can still feel, and cannot express anything against it. Basically a vegetable but all it can feel is constant pain
vegetable implies no mental activity
you are implying he is still conscious in there
unless I read that wrong
It’s weird, because he is technically conscious, but not fully, and has no motor functions beyond what the hive mind gives him, and no way to actually act intelligently because of it. He can basically only feel pain, in the most blunt sense of the word.
I’m thinking more entirely paralyzed, half brain dead, but in constant agony
During AJB, we can recover his body, which hasn’t been assimilated fully, but his mind is.
Basically, an objectively worse fate than Aledar
Aledar got oblivion
Elphaba either got a more normal afterlife, or her soul is trapped in SE and got eaten/take/whatever else by something else
Lucio got biological assimilation so I guess he technically survived but the suffering never ends, or the odd half-aware suffering he is in
I think about Aledar’s death, from time to time, when playing, and it leaves a pit in my stomach the longer I think about it
I think it’s because it’s the most real death, where there’s nothing left
soul destruction does feel like it's probably oblivion
Like, elphalba might have her soul intact, maybe. Lucio’s is super eldritch, so it’s not really based in reality, but Aledar just basically got a real death
would be messed up if the dern expansion happened and we see Lucio pop up as a random obsessor mob
actually, does his skin have a chance of appearing as an obsessor's skin? and his name too for that matter
No afterlife, no awareness, just instant boom lights out no more anything
I don’t think so, since we took the body
You did, ho ho ho 🎅
the obsessor goo can most likely form new bodies
that one miner was prob formed of goo, she melted and reassembled to get to where she was I'm guessing
I believe so
I wanna kill the obsessor goo pool
where's maxie when you need him to invent a weapon of mass destruction
future corkus update in 2027
we need to take the heart of TCC and use it to make a bomb
Drop a piece of the obelisk into it and watch the pool turn into a pile of corruption
incinerates
good enough for me
now, can I use flupper to make it burn a little faster?
I wish we did more horrible stuff like that. Just taking bits of light influenced things and forcing it into dark enemies
free corruption
Light Bender now has an interaction where every darkness enemy it hits with Ophanim just explodes
“Ahhh ahh my skin ahhhh”
this needs to change actuslly because it directly contradicts the established lore i made for obsessors. you were supposed to instead find his chestplate or wand but apparently there "needed" to be parts from both elphaba and lucio to lure the worm even though that makes no sense given what you grab from elphaba, so they swapped it out for lucio's head
so we grab his inorganic helmet or smthn then would make more sense
the whole obsessor section was done with a total disregard to what they were supposed to be, with the obsessor immediately breaking the illusion after showing up as Lucio again, not even bothering to try and trick you
by the time you reach the cave, lucio doesnt exist anymore
the person he was is gone and is never coming back
every part of him was discarded, every memory, every hope or dream or unique thought
That remind me how my idea of remaking ajb is making entire section dedicated to obessessor
I wish that was communicated, because based on what was shown of Lucio, and the lore I read on obsessors, you’re left to assume there’s still some of him left. I thought I read that consciousnesses are basically assimilated into the hive mind, but there’s still a bit of awareness left in them to feel it all
they are a hivemind of slimes or slime molds that ended up gaining the heat and consistency of boiling tar, and developing sentience and sensation via the dark influence, in much the same ways as the dark influence warped many of the creatures in SE.
their thought processes are very, very simple, and since they lived in a cave that nothing ever really entered aside from little midges and insects and did not have even basic sensorium before, they were never hurt- but with the dark influence changing things and them growing outwards, they grew to know what pain and fear felt like, and came to two realizations.
one, if they stayed in their cave, they would be safe and remain un-hunted.
two, other things that are alive...can also feel pain. and wouldnt it be nice if pain didnt exist?
as they ended up able to assimilate other things into themselves, they decided to be brave, and brave the risk of pain to try and help all those poor in pain creatures by making them one, where they can be happy and content and never ever ever leave ever.
Now that I think about it, I might’ve gotten the lore of the masked creature from look outside mixed up with obsessors
Selvut have you play or seen still wake the deep
they prefer to take willing targets, or if that is not possible, target the brain to speed along the assimilation process, dampen nerve endings to reduce the pain as much as possible, and erase the parts of it that can cause a fear response to make the process as easy as possible.
once it touches you(lorewise), that's it. amputate or it WILL spread and WILL overtake you. since they dont fully understand the nature of sentience and how that makes people grow attached to things, the hivemind keeps some of the things they cant assimilate for...well, they cant remember why its important anymore, really, but it was important at some point and it doesnt hurt to keep, so they will keep it to be extra nice to themselves
doesnt ring a bell
Obsessor sounds kinda nice rn
Watch jt trust it like
Really good game and I use it as moodboard for ajb rewrite
Id probably be fine dying like that
It about being British
True horror
they would agree with you on that assessment
Liken
I remember building up the obessessor in my rrwrite of ajb
Like in my lore rrwrite
and as shown with lucio, obsessors also have some dark illusion magic that they use to disguise their forms and make their hunting easier
The miners accidentally open up to SE but they did not know what it was yet
Though by opening it it, they let something in
So as they continue working, some workers start disappear
I mean, it seems pretty calming. (It ain’t depicted that way, though)
Though some of them claim to catch glimpse of these disappeared people
Why were they screaming, btw, wouldn’t they be more silent, or calm in general, with Lucio the one shouting?
It all lead to finally realize what they let into the mine by openning up the expanse so in panic tjose who manage to get out collapse the mine entrance leaving the rest behind
The rest behind force their way out into the expanse and try to find a place to survive
While the obessessor now go into dormant in the mine until you and the gang came in
as i initially concepted the obsessor scene, you were supposed to find a very out-of-place, unsettlingly cozy house in the ruined city where you would find lucio, trying to convince you of all sorts of things- the safety of the house, how as you saw the outside is so scary and dangerous, and it would be better to stay behind here for a while, and just take a rest and everything will be fine, but you just keep poking holes in the illusion until it falls apart and they try force
Why’s it not like this? Who stopped it 😔
the reason it can "mimic" things is with illusion magic.
I really like it
they arent shapeshifters
so obsessors aren't horrible to be a part of
at least by feel, once assimilated
in the sense that you can't feel fear and whatnot any longer
the "cozy house" was just a cave
I mislead you, mb
I DID tell you my memory was foggy
oo maybe I add somethign similar to obsessors to my own setting
also, shouting startles creatures and puts them off-guard. when hunting that's useful to take the edge off a wily assailant
I alr have psychopathic shapeshifters who are internally driven to replace people, sabotage, and seek sensitive information
is it from joy that you accept them? is it pragmatic? is it that they don't quite know how to mimic people properly?
Wouldn’t that scare them, though, and make them run? I figured they’d be quiet with it, or as gentle as possible, like with the Lucio concept you sent
Actually, this is another question: we can canonically defeat a piece of the hive mind, what with the obsessors littered around SE—in the Olmic city.
But, wouldn’t any melee on them basically doom you, or touching them with anything at all?
none of the wynn archetypes do physical contact do they?
even with like flying kick armor would get in the way
gameplay/story segregation + yeah, armor gets in the way
Okay, so it’s only direct contact through skin
yeah
you can prob save yourself by yeeting armor off canonically I bet
so long as it doesn't touch you yourself
PZ? you don't mean panic zealot do you?
PZ is an object, not flesh and blood
unless wynn took a page out of the destiny lorebook and pz the relik IS pz the enemy
turning bosses into weapons
Touch of Malice moment
darkness worshiping alien god-king defeated in a raid so he turned himself into a gun that fed off of kills, biding time until he could regain strength
ive never played much destiny, only had my older brother loredump at me about storybeats he liked. i had no clue about destiny bosses mostly being objects turned into living beings when writing panic zealot, and even then panic zealot is no more a living thing than a puppet animated by an aimless poltergeist
Is it the fact it has any biological components, or the fact it has noticeable consciousness that lets obsessors assimilate something? Like, could a rock golem be assimilated?
it isnt alive, it is just moving
iron golems would hard-counter obsessors, and it obviously cant assimilate EVERYTHING otherwise it would never have gotten hunted by other things
I was a HUGE destiny fan for years straight
my user is one of the subclasses from the class I mained
the franchise had its highs and lows but kept asking for more and more time and money and even started removing stuff people had payed for
kinda sad really, it was what I was into before wynn
That’s actually a really interesting note, because it brings to question what organic material can actually be assimilated.
like, an obsessor could shut down an iron golem if it made contact with the fleshy bits but none of that is exposed so the most they could do is mar the metal with their heat- and in that instance they would be likely to flee instead
oh dang obsessors are just like passively scalding hot then
I forgot about that, tbh
they have the consistency and heat of boiling tar.
I also just read it earlier, so I may be dense
anyway, the other thing about the obsessor scene. as I had written and suggested it, by the time you find the obsessor lucio is already gone. all you find left of lucio is his wand after defeating the obsessor that was wearing his face. it isnt difficult to put two and two together that lucio was a lost cause, but the methods through which it happened would not have been revealed
but maybe elphaba is still alive, you figure, and go off to search for her.
instead most of what i suggested got ignored and i had to actively fight to stop them from having the obsessor turn into like a gigantic centipede that tried to eat you
like. i understand not going with the illusion house scene since that could have been tricky but they like...they went halfway with it
Sounds more like they didn’t go at all with it
took some parts of it, then contradicted those parts later by having lucio's body, which has been assimilated and erased out of existence covered over by molten tar, fall from the ceiling with a dry "He must have turned into a monster."
did the illusion, did the tar cave, did the dialogue, did all that, but just decided you needed a lot more wormbait than before and dropped the part with finding his wand, leaving the details ambiguous, etc
what part of wynn DOESNT need a rework at this point
anyway my suggestion for elphaba also went unused but i can understand why in that instance
AJB rework, then the obsessors will get their due justice
what was the elphaba suggestion?
local bug discovers infinite food glitch more at 11
I’m actually interested to know whether she got eaten, or fused with the bug
oh so like a human flesh farm
start with her liver, let what's left regrow, harvest again, profit
How would anything grow back, though?
great question
To iritacks feed off hypothetical organs?
instead of just eating her like they do here, they would(CW: body horror) ||infest her body and hijack her internal organs to continually produce cancerous growths that they could harvest, lay eggs in, and consume all while she was alive and sentient throughout the entire process, undying and in an endless loop of torture unable to do anything but scream for help around the maggots unburying themselves from her lymph nodes!|| ^ . ^
oh yay
Poor Alfalfa
you would, in the end, mercy-kill her after clearing out the bugs
this reminds me of my own worldbuilding stuff somewhat
although at least chimera have the mercy of overwriting you as a person (mostly)
like I said- that one going unused, I understand. very graphic, very visceral
eh
we see piles of human flesh more than 20 levels before around lexdale pen
I’d actually like to see more connection with our titular trio, whether as monsters or as mercy kills
eh, zombies are different from still-alive body infestation
also, the Avos village having human heads on spikes
i thought we removed all those because of how reductive of a stereotype that was
I took one look and thought I would be fighting my way out of that area lol
and how counter it is to the characterization of the avos
it was there when I first did the quest at least idk
which would have been in the range of 1-2 years ago
I’d argue how Garvan is killed isn’t too off from body infestations
possession!
that got pointed out a couple years ago internally about how much random gore was strewn about the avos territory and how it created a really bad "tribal savages" stereotype
but phsyical enough to burst out from the inside
there was a big push to remove it. if it hasnt been taken out yet then it really should at least go on the to-do list
Is there a reason beyond it being a potentially poor stereotype that the cannibals were removed
similar reason to removing all the human/villager heads on spikes around the orc/goblin camps
-# my own version of possession I wrote meanwhile has foreign agents literally pulling your muscles against your own impulses and you have to play literal physical tugowar inside yourself
-# person screaming and begging for anyone to help as they try to resist their arms coming up with something to kill them because possession of a dead body is easier than a living one
same kind of logic- the whole "tribal savages" thing the jungle has going on is a pretty racist stereotype, same with portraying em as cannibalistic
I honestly assumed that the cannibals were like that because they were starving and corrupted
The cannibals are removed??
(Gotta rework that jungle mage random event to not say cannibals, though)
they were there last I went to dernel
less than a year ago
i did too and didnt think much of it but then it got looked at internally and we all kinda collectively realized "oh...yeah...that's actually real bad..."
"cave" activity and everything
itd just been there long enough to be accepted without thought, but re-examination cleared that up
so they are going to be removed then
as opposed to they were supposed to already be gone
i recall most of the tribesman enemies in dernel have been replaced with other enemies?
like, recently
I must not have noticed that yet then
what about those Iboju exile enemies in tromsi jungle area?
I wouldn’t like to see those go, tbh, just because they look dope
dont think those have been touched yet, nor have the tribesman NPCs cause the plan isnt wholly written out for what to replace them with
I like the tribesmen, and would hate to see em go
replacing Iboju with a Tromsi outpost on the edge of the untamable Dernel Jungle or smthn
then Entamis is just wiped out
there were some concepts floated around but nothing concrete since, yknow, fruma priority
wynn does have that odd dev problem where some of the stuff in greatest need of touchups is from progression and not endgame, so the loyal playerbase wouldn't care and would even get agitated if that was touched before endgame issues were
itll probably get looked at more critically whenever midgame reworks happen
not a position I'd like to be in lol
I hate that the loyal player base overlooks the potential fun in level capping early game
define
Level cap all quest bosses, dungeon bosses, and boss altars
so like you don't allow yourself to progress until you've done everything at a level?
or like stuff becomes unavailable if you level past it before doing it
because the latter would suck
The first option
good good
You progress only through the content that has bosses, essentially
It’s a really fun challenge, tbh, especially when you limit the available gear
one of those tri-element challenges
or just giving a gimmick to a playthrough
like when I leveled my mage I locked myself out of INT entirely
Or themed challenges, like dungeon items only
That’s super unique, and bodes well for more potential challenges
I’ve got a 5HP challenge I’m gonna do, but I can only use items that -HP
Fallen run but all items must be Corruption-linked
so the "it's pulling towards something..." items, Skien's Set, Corruption-themed dungeon merchant items (including Forgery), Annihilation drops in endgame
also any item that could reasonably be linked to the corruption besides those
That could potentially be fun, but it might be too easy
Paladin but you're on a crusade and have to hit every boss altar as you progress
Basically what level caps offers anyways
doesn't even have to be hard, just makes you do something you normally wouldn't
which CAN be a challenge easily just not a requirement
Another cool one is ocean/pirate items only
like my intless mage
no points put into int and no int gained from items
dumbest mage alive, bruteforcing the arcane arts- although arcanist made it pretty easy for a good chunk of the game
Acolyte who is of the deep using only the water items?
Try Christmas items only on assassin, and then beat durum protector at level 20
Mitten, Nesaak snow shoes, and Tarod’s Parka is all you get
you see
I don't want it because it's hard
I want it because its different lol
making me do or use things I normally wouldn't
like in Silksong rn when I'm not on dc or busy elsewhere (coursework...) I'm doing a Hunter Crest only run
diagonal pogo is actually pretty great
I’m actually super interested in possibly making “new classes” out of item limitations and archetype restrictions
Like an alchemist out of ritualist
like a boltslinger but locking myself to ETA might be neat, try to play tstack all the way through
or rawstack for that matter
Try a trickrobat playthrough
nuzzlock bmonk, goes with the flow lol
can respec at will, but must stay with bmonk and items are the nuzlock stuff
Holy nuzlocke Wynn playthrough where every death locks the items you’re using
You’ll be forced to use every item until you either have no more options, or some other arbitrary rule
I'm not actually that well versed in nuzlock rules though
my understanding is that you get to choose an unid/unrevealed item to ID every like 5 levels and you're stuck with those items
bonus points if you just have to choose 1 chest to take items from every 5 levels maybe
That’s also a part of it, too
I’d really like for the death part to be there, though, just so you’re locked out of the same items, if you find em again
maybe an item every level but you lose what is equipped on death
Could potentially be super cool
102 items to prep for AHC lol
hope you don't lose too many
or maybe only 51 if you do every other level
This is an awesome idea, and I will be stealing it for easier challenges
we could use region rules
cut the map up into regions and the first chest opened from each is the loot that is allowed
I read the first 6 words as that “suffocation, no breathing” song
never heard of that but ok
assuming towns count as regions
Ragni, Emerald Trail/Maltic area, Nivla Woods, Detlas Suburbs area, Detlas, yeah that's a lot
ok it's getting late where I am
gn internet strangers
Gn gangsta
The Eye has an Irish accent doesn't it?
What if it just speaks Irish, but has a Slavic accent huhuhuh
If Irish is what Darkness speaks in then I wonder what Light speaks in
Orphion’s High Gavellian just seems to be English
Maybe it’s old english
“Brun coo”
Well they speak Irish fluently that's for sure. Not sure if they can also speak English like the manifestation of darkness though.
Eyerish, I think is the actually language
I heard from some shady characters in a certain bar in Corkus that Wynncraft was originally an anti-IRA tabletop game and only later was computergameized onto minecraft and that's why Irish evil or smth !!!
||bruh so this entire time Soldiers from Fruma are just brain washed criminals 😭 ||
is there a doc with the chronological canon or something?
if you mean timeline
then yeah tehre wiki page
but they wont tell you everythign
;o
Seems like some of the "cursed" shown in Fruma have the same treatment too (if we take the current limited information we know of Tasim, that he didn't necessarily do anything "bad" by our standards, but showed to be one of the cursed.)
seems lioke being cursed is illegal in fruma so they are consider cirminal LMAO
it like being minority in certain country
Like I said, from our standards.
Probably bc a “cursed” can use spells and spells are a threat to their power so if anyone is caught using them they get removed to install fear into their civilians to be obedient (seems like fruma would be a fascist monarchy)
I’m also glad that they’ll be showing how a fascist monarchy can “positively” effect others in the society, but only through consistent Pavlovian, subconscious fear responses basically induced genetically, at this point
Shows how every system can benefit someone, and how they manage to keep these values instilled in their general, stable population, and how they can make others vouch for said system
Or just theoretical in general, because lord knows when it’ll drop
“Positively” lol
we love no freedom
This would maybe make sense with Dern, but I more think that the queen is in talks/controlled by Dern and that she’s just the leader in a fascist way
Bc from what we know there’s already severe limitations of the citizens freedom
just play deathless
Deathless is kinda impossible for me, because I’ll just die to some random ping spike
the ping spike is rooted in lore
theres spikes all over wynn
It’s true, there’s many of them all over Wynn
exactly
I was too slow, you beat me to it
its all making sense now
Heavy HEAVY quotations
i had a playthrough about a year ago where i wasnt allowed to be in the wynn province
early to mid game was a challenge
Don’t join the game
ye the reason nobody originally questioned bob's death by dog was because the prevailing theory was that he had a lagspike
annihilation got stunlocked by a lagspike and then harrassed by bob
Where can I find infos regarding Fruma lore for now ?
there isn't much if any in-game ?
recover the past
llevigar's library after you collect book from Farcor
Ah ye, I have the book but didn't bother going back to the library, ok sweet thanks
I want to make a new class for Wynncraft
Like, seriously
And most will see me as a madman with none of the knowledge to do so
heres your thread #1302601977636585515
Which, is why I'm here.
I said, a new, Class.
Not Archetypes.
Explosives are common enough but underutilized in the environment, quests, and terrain builds of the game
Oh, it's also for fun
But primarily it's to prove a point
Because nobody else is trying to design smth that's legitimately possible at the scale of Wynn's classes.
I alone, am getting serious about it at this point.
With that said, I'm here to do some research
On, EVERY faction, and every possible lore,
that can basically back doubters into a corner
And give it a snowball's chance in the Nether, of actually happening
You aren't the first to doubt me, and you won't be the last
????
It's the strange path I've chosen, after all
im just giving you a channel where you can do at stuff
Oh, thank you
that would be more appropriate
I was gonna start the thread myself tbh
and ask around from others there
now for lore you can ask that trashie guy but ull need to have played through the quests in game and discoveries and whatever
lest you need to scour wiki
I'm counting on that
and yes secret discoveries as well
The playing the game thing, I mean
Not the worst thing
also use this https://punscake.github.io/wynnability/
I will in fact be using this
What if when the Fruma update comes along that it's a level 0 area, meaning that the only way to access it is from creating a new character.
That be worst thing for it.
????
Where did you get this idea bruh
Theyve been banging it on that its endgame content e.g. Level 105+
This aint read like a joke either 😭
Text tone is hard, it was suppose to be a joke 😭.
Put one of these after it: 🤪
so the Ragni outskirts?
I was recommended to do /j or "lol" but I keep on forgetting to do it.
how about they make grook's nest visible in content book and have it marked as uncompleted regardless of whether you did king's recruit or not so all current characters can never get 100% content completion
Pretty easy to bug into the tutorial, tbh
can cofirm. i am peppered
i mean salted
show how pls. I need
Take me back to fruma
the little bit of fruma at the border. better than no fruma
inb4 fruma raid
will fruma addition make the Tarnow prison real
TERNAVES
how does it even come up with that
Forgot how, and it’s probably patched. I love lying 👹
Actually, there might be somewhere you can die and respawn there
patched
Yeah, I’m outa
Outa what?
Outa ideas
now for some reason you don't go to closest respawn point you go to like last town you went close enough to or smth
(source: dying at frozen fort and getting sent back to fucking olux)
let's be real who here does not want to find some way to get to these three buildings
They actually used to be accessible
ye but they closed down the ternaves prison like really early on no
and idek wtf the second one is
Some odd 8 years ago, yeah
first*
The first one is in the tutorial, no?
I thought you were talking about those ones, since you could actually explore and enter every single one of those homes, up until 1.18
I'm considering leveling a character from lvl 1 to whatever in ragni outskirts just fighting just to get escape and be able to get around some areas
ye
Some had lil NPC’s, and one had a “side quest” to return a lost dog
yo a lvl 0 quest in ragni outskirts?!
Not technically a quest, it was basically a completely undocumented random event
anyways now I can't remember what was in ragni outskirts so I want back
and if possible find a way to enter the Fruman Canyon of the Lost
quick trivia! which one of these three is Fruma
(original had coords)
What is the second one
you're guessing that one is Fruma?
Sure, why not
you are correct
the best Canyon of the Lost there ever was
btw are there any good top down maps of Wynncraft online
preferably updated
Not yet, I don’t believe
all the maps I see are old
Map is going to be updated for Fruma
no Isles of Fiction, smaller Thesead, &c
so map is never updating?
Essentially
the real canyon of the lost because ct forgot it existed
did you originally spawn farther in Fruma
rn you basically just spawn at a left turn in the road but on a top down map there's apparently more? to the north
rn, the furthest we can go back is that horse cart on the Fruman-Wynn border. Before that we dont know. Wait for Fruma to release in 30,000 years to find out our player's origin
ye but in previous updates
did you spawn deeper in fruma
You know what, there could very well be another tutorial revamp with fruma
dont think so, think it was always like that, or in that spawning area back in 2013
feel like bit of wynncraft tutorial quest could be adjust to be serve better for an openning of the game
I definitely do feel like the player, Tasim, and Aledar seems like they move on from Ragni wayyy too quickly
If they raise the cap to 120, they may end up increasing the early game quest potential because of it
I dont think so
cause that mean they have to rearrange the leveling of other stuff
and it get like
wayyy confusing afterward
it gonna be wayy a lot of work to span out the early game that I highly dbout they raise level cap for that
I wouldn’t be surprised if they restructured areas to incorporate another 5 levels each worth of content. They’ve spent enough time on it for that to be a possibility
(Not like individual areas, just level ranges were familiar with)
ragni yearns for an early game quest (i remember the old sewer dungeon quest and miss it)
Taism and Aledar literally aim to leave Ragnai the moment they arrive 😭
The prisoner one?
like it actually that bad
Same with Afelis or whatever her name is. Nobody in Ragni wants to stay lol
Didn’t know
Afelis is a side content thing that fine
also they look like they are here before us so
there like time frame we can imagine
I always have a plan for King's Recruit to end with player going to barrack and sleep
Not sure if they’ve been there very long, but they do mention the fact that they’re new—like us
where the title drop when the screen went black and player wake up which allow them to go on theirw ay
yeah extactly but therei s space for them to like
been train by Ragni
or other things
so it not like Ragni just let them go into wilderness
like I am sorry but the fruman recruits been done dirty with the potential they have in the theme and worldbuilding
Ig we were needed in Detlas, so we had no time to train in Ragni
Okay but
why the fuck would you send the possibly untrainned recruits
into the wilderness
Hilarity ensues
they did not grow accustom to the land yet
we dont know the culture
we just arrive
yes, in the old quest u help a guy imprisoned in Ragni's jail escape because hes part of some "resistance" movement (never elaborated on) and gives u a sewer key on completion
this is equlivent of like
a mother bird throwing her babies out of the nest to fly
It was like that in 1.14.2, then subsequently changed in 1.17
also not to mention
I did like that old prisoner quest, though. It was funny
all fruman recruits suffer from memory loss
you do not want to send people
with memory loss problem into wilderness full of dangerous undead
governments have done this in real life too, human wave tactics
Actually, maybe it’s the fact we did so well in the tutorial that we were considered capable enough to go to Detlas
that shit is like a hospital just send comatose person to be on theirw ay
I pretty sure governemnt at least have some trainning program
I know for sure because I been in one
ROTC
I went to a ROTC ball once
they are not going to throw your untrain ass into the war unless they fully expect you to be 100% cannon fodder
well you are
but like
not untrainned cannon fodder
id assume ragni would be the place we get trained up (ignoring the corrupted attack on the ragni tunnel), however as we spend like 10 minutes max in the city its hard to tell
it should be
Ragni should be the place where recruits train and grow adjusted to their new home
There should be at least 1 Ragni quest showing us being trained or established
Ig the tutorial stands in as that, but it ain’t in Ragni so nah
I Know it been remake before but
the current remake kinda do nothing
it was funny tho
I like cook assistant though 😔
you can still kept essential
just rewrite it a way that it fit the theme of having the player grow acustom to wynn province
Have a grook infiltrate the ranks and train you 🤪
I literally have project dedicate to adjusting dialogue to fit with the idea
it not perfect but it does its job without fix the quest in major way
id like to see what u come up with in regards to a revamped Ragni questline
Honestly If there more than just dialogue adjustment
I would treat early ragni quest as errand player do for Ragni before they are ready to go to Detlas
the tunnel that was collapse was meant to be for the player, Tasim, and Aledar to go through
but unfortunately due to its collapse
the player have to walk all thew ay there
Ragni could not spare any caravan for it though so that why you going there alone
id like some sort of acknowledgement for the destroyed state of ragni's walls, maybe a quest to get materials to repair it or something, talking about the horrors of undead raids and stuff
they also trust you will survive because three of you prove yourself to be capable fighter
since you manage to fight through undead in the tutorial area
also here new idea for an interaction for sergent Klafson
this was before I got an idea to end King's recruit through sleeping btw
cause the idea is that you wake up to see Jenprest or other NPC waking you up and Tasim and Aledar trainning themselves in the trainnning area
I’d love one of those black fade outs to end a quest
That’s an awesome idea, why hasn’t it been done at all (yet
)
it would be annoying but I think it's okay in this case cause player literally sleeping
Idt it’d be bad at all? A slow fade out into the usual “ding quest is done” sounds really nice
it
depend because like
it gonna be jarring have those
espically when the quest just ended with player talk to NPC and like
screen fade to balck and like everything the same
it just feel jarring to imagine
I feel like there are some SE quests this could work with
(AJF could work with it, actually)
again it really depend and what you use fade to black for
fade to black usually meant time skip form e at least
that why for me iU se it for when player sleep because it meant to be seen as time skip between they rest
so context really matter
what are we calling that one tiny village in the underpass where the reanimated sorcerer appears
I mean
there's no way that Ragni doesn't realize all the recruits its getting have late onset selective dementia
you'd figure they'd have an orientation program for when recruits arrive for just explaining that they too have no idea what is going on
let them choose if they still want to become soldiers type deal
or let them becomes mercenaries or free spirits or smthn instead
then have the mercenary/part time employment option be the cannon reason we're part of the army but still allowed to bug off and do f all wherever we want really
They do tho
Fruman recruits literally said to not remmber their home
That fucking concerning
Also btw
obviously they know
I am not trying to contend that
I'm more concerned we don't see it acknowledged outside of Picard, Aledar, and Tasim
They are still people from far away land that habe no idea of the custom of this new land that now their home
Ragni should take responsible for them
Especially when it’s a program
yeah that's what I suggested
Tbh I think the soldier part of force
The soldier part should be force it’s what Wynn need
They can’t afford this recruits they got to be mercenary and go out their merry way
the programming made them WANT to be soldiers, so many prob still would willingly do it
Yeah
this is a good point that I have no idea how to address
Yeah if you consider the training, living space, food, and other stuff they would spent for the recruits
No matter what the recruits have debt to pay to Ragni or Wynn as a whole
Even if they have no say in the matter
makes sense but sucks
That why I against the idea of player turning merc right away befause it just would not make sense
Yeah it need to suck because this is province torn apart by war
Some aspect of it gonna be such from desperate that these people have
Wynn is a harsh place after all
have some kind of contract
player serves for X time to fulfil contract then is considered free from conscription?
but that's still hemorrhaging soldiers every few battles or years or whatever
Yep that should be the norm
But for player case we can have story set up thst allow them to be free sooner for gameplay purpose
yeah exemplary service or smthn
let them work they're way out early so it makes more sense
The idea I have is that the entire Troms storyline is player being punish for gojng AWOL in gavel
lol
Rough summary ofc
But like consider what you do in gavel
You essentially just went to gavel and do orc war stuff a bit and then like
Randomly helping people
So some stuff happen in Wynn
I mean
Gavel did call in Wynnic aid, we see that at the Llevigar Plains gates
you got a good point about helping randos still though
Admiral Aegis try to call you but they can’t find you anywhere since yoh gojng all over the place
This ofc reference to the whole player travel way too much thst maxie could not invite them to the wedding
Yeah but after that player just go off their own way
There also road to peace
Maxie finds out about this travel habit
and just sends fliers literally everywhere
But yeah to continue that
I said you had a good point about the helping randos part what was the response doing here
Going awol was pretty irresponsible when yoh are a soldier
So yoh come back to Detlas
Admiral Aegiskinda displease befause like
There was battle in Wynn and yoh went missing
And you could have save so many lives
Or something
So he send you sent you to do assignment in Troms as punishment
the only problem with this is that it gets in the way of player agency
players know they could've stayed and helped if not for gameplay constraints
with small things like Maxie's wedding it's more excusable
And maybe after Troms story end, the player would be discharge as admiral aegis admit that jt better off letting you, Tasim, and Aledar go on their way
As he see yoh three follow the path that Bob walk on
This is rough summary btw
And this is under assumption quest getting remake like in lootrun update
point is
players can't strictly be part of any army bcs that's so limiting
we have to let them out REALLY early
Yeah that why after Troms, they will be out of the army
or just completely restructure how the introduction to Ragni as a soldier is
that's the 50's level range though, quite a bit late
That like one of the best solution I could come up with unless there are big quest rewrite happen early on
