#Adding 'Or Best Offer' option to pokebay

Scalping is the practice of hoarding limited edition items in hopes to resell for a profit when there is no stock left, that can’t happen here, everything has an unlimited supply.
so you think users like OmegaYahn having 8 pages worth of active auctions and not a single one with a bid on it isn't scalping? "taking desirable items and listing it extremely above market average"
You think that's what is making this game great? That's why you created the pokebay feature? Is for users to have 8 pages worth of auctions with no bids constantly for months at a time? That's what you thought the players wanted to see with that added implementation?
i'm not saying they can't list it at what they want. I'm asking to give the buyer a chance to negotiate
No, I was just saying, that's not the definition of scalping.
so is my idea invalide because of the interpretation of the word 'scalping'? Tell me which word to call it and I will make the edit in the original post
Again, no, I just wanted to point out that's not what scalping is.
The idea itself is fine (although I find the reasoning a bit flaky - If you don't like an auction price, it's simple to just scroll past it and ignore it)
The idea of offers and buy it now prices have been suggested in the past, multiple times.
It was also part of the original design for PokeBay but never made the finished feature.
ok, I have made the edit to remove scalper from the post.
this would have been a perfectly acceptable response at the front end that would have sent me on my way
I wasn't trying to send you on your way, I was just correcting something so it didn't catch on and become something people start saying around here.
I understand that approach. (but people already do call them scalpers)
Hence the need to correct it even more then
...anyway, back to the actual idea.
I have one scenario I'd like you to think about; so all auctions now have the possibility to submit offers and lets take this "$100m Iron Valiant" example, you decide to offer whatever you think is fair for it and the buyer still just ignores all offers because they wanted $100m for it, they're not interested in offers.
Would this not be an even bigger waste of your time? You're spending more time putting offers on things to get ignored.
we can just delete this thread then on the basis that the idea has already been suggested
It seems to me your actual frustration is the players themselves who are trying to list things for more than they're worth.
Wouldn't you rather just have the option to not see their auctions?
Um, okay. Not interested in discussing it?

i would accept an option to mute certain things on Bay, yes.
I feel like i'm just trying to argue at this point and it shouldn't be about arguing, just an area for suggestions
It didn't feel like an argument to me but alright.
I appreciate that but also I also want to be respectful of time/space in the channel. I just like the idea so if it was heard then I can accept that as a win
Bro is aggressively respectful
and he still has no idea what scalpers are 😂
True lol
lol
