I suggest adding a couple more options to make the game easier, as well as some options to make the game harder. Assists and challenges are gameplay modifiers to make the game easier/harder, similar to the ng+ modifiers from CrossCode

Stat modifier:

decrease/increase the following enemy stats:

  • HP
  • Damage
  • Break bar
  • Resistance effectiveness
  • Combat speed

ASSISTS:

  • Hazard immunity: Juno becomes immune to all hazard damage
  • Infinite DC
  • Infinite Stamina
  • Perfect shield: Blocks will always count as parries
  • Mega Buffet: Grants infinite healing bulbs and boosts from all foods
  • Instant healing: healing from healing bulbs is instant instead of gradual
  • Permanent ailment: status ailments inflicted on enemies lasts forever
  • Slower enemy break/stun recovery (this also applies to bosses that throws a mini puzzle when they're broken)
  • 2x item drop rate
  • 2x core exp
  • 2x weapon exp

CHALLENGES:

  • Fatal blow: All damage instakills Juno

  • On Diet: Halves the number of healing bulbs and boost usage given from all food

  • Pure hostility: Passive enemies will attack Juno even if they're unharmed

  • Quick recovery: All enemies recover from status ailments 50% faster

  • Last Nuemera Standing: Enemy/boss with the highest total stat becomes invincible and unbreakable unless if they're the last remaining enemy, will prioritize bosses and only applies to one enemy

  • No Mercy: All enemies will attack you all at once instead of taking turns attacking you

  • Limited Skill: Makes each divine art only usable once per battle (example: you have to use a different aether range skill if you already used beam barrage in a battle)

  • Parry master: Shield can only be used to parry, not block

  • Exhaustion: Sprint and divine sprint gradually drains stamina

  • Heal cancel: Taking damage completely cancels the gradual healing from healing bulbs

  • No core exp

  • No weapon exp

Nyx’s Wrath:

This challenge will make all enemies and bosses much tougher by enhancing their moveset

Due to the character limit when I wanted to add a new challenge idea, I had to post a new message here:

  • Enemy level scaling (equal to the highest weapon level or core level, whichever is higher)

Some new ideas that got for this post:
Stat modifier: player heal potency

Challenges:

  • Sneaky foes: Removes the red flash telegraphs from all enemies and bosses as well as the noise that they made
  • Broken equipment: All equipment gives x% less stat increase (can't decide rn cuz we only have crude gems)

Sneaky foes is just why

#

What do you think is the point of a telegraph

#

Broken equipment is also lame
Any significant nerf makes said equipment buffs less meaningful and thus just removes build variety
You can have the same effects (harder fights due to lowering player power relative to enemies) by just adding a stat modifier to enemies

I think the point of a telegraph is to allow the player to know when an enemy is gonna attack.

Most enemies in both alabaster dawn and CrossCode already telegraph their attacks with their animation, however in AD, the enemies also have the red flash and noise on top of their animation to telegraph their attacks.

By removing the red flash and noise, players would have to pay attention to their foes' animation rather than relying on an incredibly noticeable visual and sound effect.

Some bosses have a lot of attacks happening at once

#

The big frog guy has a lot of attacks that come crashing from above, for example

#

Sometimes you have a lot of enemies on your screen, sometimes even outside the screen, you must make it as clear as possible where an attack is coming from

I assumed youd remove those too

Anyways
It just makes fights less fair

Some of the crosscode ng+ options made some stuff feel incredibly frustrating but rewarding to complete those fkgnts
