#Why is the status effect chance not 100% in PvP?

Dear NCSoft,

Why is the status effect chance not 100% in PvP?

For PvE, this stat doesn't matter at all. However, for competitive PvP, reliable status effects are crucial for creating balanced, skill-based gameplay. Right now, NCSoft is planning to introduce so-called "competitive PvP" to Aion 2. This is an inherent contradiction if there isn't a 100% chance to land status effects—a flaw we already saw in Throne and Liberty. You learned from that mistake, at least regarding pure damage, which players are now able to land 100% of the time in Aion 2. As long as a character build or gear is optimized correctly, skills should land their status effects 100% of the time (or at least the vast majority of them). This is the only way to recreate the highly praised, competitive PvP of Aion 1, which would give Aion 2 a massive boost.

Why is this still not the case? Aion 2 has been out for half a year now. And no, it's not an excuse to say the game is "PvE-oriented." If a game includes even a single PvP component, that mode must feel rewarding and responsive. With the current RNG-heavy and burst-damage-based PvP, the experience isn't even enjoyable for PvE players.

Community quotes like "PvP lasts 5 seconds—whoever hits first wins. It doesn't compare to Aion Classic PvP where you actually had counterplay" say it all. This is not the right direction, NCSoft! Give skills a 100% status effect chance and allow players to land them reliably if they have invested in the right build and gear.

Thank you for your time, and I hope you will take this into account for future updates.

Care to post your shugo link? I'd like to check out your char. Also, what's your arena rank and abyss rank? Both must be really high, since you seem to know so well what would be best for pvp.

He probably hasnt played aion2 at all, but his point is still valid.

To much rng in pvp makes it rather luck than skill based (if we ignore the p2w/p2progress for a second)

But its not just rng cc, but also things passive high evasion.

I for example would like to see them reverting the omni directional block change, and make evasion work the same as block did before. (Only being able to block and dodge from the front)
Also if u are cced, u shouldnt be able to passivly block and evade either.

And there are probably much more things that need a rework/balancing to make the PvP actualy good.

Yeah. Its not like having 100% cc chance would make some classes completely broken. Nothing beats constantly dieing in cc chains. What an awesome game that would be.

Block and evasion builds are a thing of the past. Nobody really runs them anymore.

Its amazing how all the absolute best ideas on how to "fix" the pvp come from people that have either never played the game, or have close to 0 pvp experience.

these not-guarantee cc skills bring new kind of no-brain pvp strat where you stack status effect resist and just spam the highest dps skill
the one class that can exploit this strat is chanter, bc different than gladi's rage burst, once the rage burst debuff is removed, gladi has to land his knockdown in order to do the most dps
but the story is different for chanter, when chanter land marchutan wrath, even if marchuan wrath debuff is removed, chanter still can spam dark crush (high dps skill)
cc? land is good, not land then doesnt matter
what even more crazy?
even sin exploit this no-brain playstyle, sin has many cc, but the only 2 is 100% is shadowstrike and shadowfall, every other cc doesnt matter, even rune burst become as dps skill (rune burst only has max 50% stun chance)
i dont wanna say something negative, but its the truth, lots of kr players say that aion 2 balance now is sh*** and just go to pve instead, or go abyss and storm ppl for fun
