#Statens Jernbanor - 1966

I've posted some screenshots from the capital region of Öreborg, but we'll begin at the island of Saltö. The biggest inhabited island about 20nm west of the capital.
The island has a railway. Originally opened in the 1800s by private owners it came into the hands of the state in the 1930s. The railways is one of a few that has been slated for closure due to its unprofitability and difficulty to maintain. However as of 1966 it still sees regular service.
The line begins in Saltevik, the biggest town on the island with a rich history of fishing which still is an important industry to the town and island, even though it has declined aswell.
We continue down to Fyr, a small mining town on the west coast. The mine has been closed for decades however.
The line continues to the small town of Hornstrand on the northwestern tip of the island
Lastly we arrive in Knutsudde, the second biggest town on the island, here the train terminates and starts to get prepared for the journey back in around 20 minutes.
Can I talk here? Well I love those diagrams, it’s such a neat thing.
Yeah ofcourse, thanks a bunch. They're quite fun to make aswell!
True.
That’s why I kinda stole it. Because I’m a really original person.
:D
The more the merrier!
Also I see you’re using auz and chuffing stations?
Yeah, mostly Auz and then for station buildings Hungarian stations and chuffing
Oh yeah can I see the depot near Knutsudde?
Sure, looking at now I've definitely messed up my signalling diagram thing though
Oh you did. 😅
I also kinda noticed that because it didn’t match up for me.
I guess I'll pretend there's been emergency track repair or something
Just north of the capital sits the newly built housing development of Öresta. Alongside it sits Öresta Railyard, where the important postal trains are built
Can’t wait for the diagrams
Local stop of Falbovik, the third stop from the capital on the western mainline, served only by commuter trains
Love what you do there, really nice Shots!
It’s really cool I agree
Thanks a bunch guys
may i ask which trackset you are using?
JP+ Tracks
i dont recognise the catenery
ah cool
This is good stuff! Nice work on everything
Thank you!
First stop east of the capital is in the coastal town of Buktuna, on the branchline splitting of from the eastern mainline.
Skitsnyggt!
Tack så mycket!
Vilket NewGRF har dessa gator med vändplan?
Det är Quast65's roadset
The town of Skogsvik, a rural stop on the coastal branchline
The terminus on the coastal line, the town of Sandhamn. Train 1254 towards the capital is just about to depart
Illustrator
The affluent coastal town of Sörstrand, serving as an important stop along the Öre Kustbana
A diagram perchance?
In the works
Yay ^^
I'll get to it eventually but that'll take a while to make I fear
Ehh I said the same about finburgh.
:P
Wasn’t that hard after all.
Wow
Second completed line, Öre Kustbana with the Kustpilen service. A loop around the capital and the bay with its cities and town
Does it have the Y2 too?👀
I wish
Thank you! Here's an image of the GRFs. Most AuzObjects & Station GRFs are also used ALOT but not included in this list since there's so many of them and I'm lazy
First major stop on the western mainline in the works
very nice
Will there be a Diagram perchance? :3c
no
Is this journal still alive?
I found about it now and I enjoyed it a lot
Also, are all the houses placed manually?
Thank you! I've been super busy so while not dead sort of on hold for a bit. All houses are manually placed
Finally completed the first major stop along the western mainline, the city of Västvik
A bit of a preview of Gustavshamn, the second largest city in the country
The city of Gustavshamn, the second largest city and most important industrial hub in the country. Not as wealthy as the capital but produces more and has the country's biggest and most important harbour.
Jävla snyggt!
Tackar!
Leaving the city we go to Västuna Lake. Featuring the small branch line branching off from the western mainline. With the biggest town of Västuna in the bottom left corner
Something a bit different, some evening trackwork closing the fast up line, seen here freight train 5212 letting the express train to Gustavshamn pass
City of Gustavsvik, stop for the high speed trains and where local trains terminate
With that, the two biggest cities are connected
The privately owned Överberga Mine, situated alongside the eastern mainline, an important hub for both rail and sea freight
Continuing with some industry we have the Västvik Sockerbruk. Seen here is train 70050 getting ready for the daily run from the sugar mill to the harbour in the capital.
Filling out some countryside with another mine, connecting to the western mainline
The fishing hub of St.Gustav and its harbour, while not as important as it once was it still sees regular freight service
In an effort to reduce congestion into Gustavshamn from the junction connecting the Eastern and Western mainline, a big infrastructure project was undertaken, upgrading the two tracks to a much need four.
The start of the northern mainline; Järnholm. An important hub built around the steel mill. Along with a map of Järnholm aswell as the SJB network as of now
I used Illustrator for the map aswell
Why is it called Järnholm but Statens Jernbanor?
No clue is my honest answer
Vibes?
Have you already placed all cities or do you do it when required?
No, I kind of place it as I go. Normally I build a railway line and go about placing cities from there
yes thats better if you want to decorate. And with the new house placing its even better
The university city of Söderstrand. The 4th largest in the country
Just north of Söderstrand lays the quiet town of Norräng. Mostly known for the Söderstrand Power plant which employs a lot of people, featuring its small yard and daily freight service into the city.
I've expanded and added a coastal single track railway from Söderstrand to Mosstorp. Tried my hand at properly scheduling with dispatch and train graphs
Works surprisingly well
That’s really nice
The railway hub of Tjörnhamn. An important stop along the western mainline, connecting Söderstrand with Gustavshamn aswell as continuing westbound on regional lines
Is that a polish en57?
As in the train? Its from GETS is all I know
Yes
Oh
lovely map
Thank you! If you mean heightmap it's all Cpt.K in which case i agree its amazing
i mean how you populated it :)
oh well thank you then 🙂
Beautiful!
Proceeding west along the coastal railway from Söderstrand we find the town of Brunnestrand. While not big in size its a popular destination in the summer. Along with that the town also has a sawmill which employs many of the locals and still sees regular service
Schedule map thing for single track west coast operations
