This would be a top notch improvement, It would get the players to stop more often and cook food for their hunger and save up meals,

Maybe it would be good to add gas to the car so that you have to get gas. This because the gasstation is kinda useless now

I could see these being options to turn on or off, just tonincrease or decrease difficulty. I'd also suggest tire pressure as an option

In my opinion gas wouldnt be a good idea because imagine if you run out of gas in the middle of nowhere

That is litterly the idea. If you go on an adventure irl you also gotta watch out to get enough gas
