This is a hot take, but today’s society goes both ways. Within the religious community, there’s such a pressure to preserve one’s virginity, and on the flip side, outside of the religious community, there’s so much pressure to lose it. I feel like the notion of “virginity” itself has just eliminated the freedom of personal choice. Doesn’t matter if you’ve preserved it, or lost it, you’ll be shunned nonetheless
