i find it odd not all tracks do this
it literally makes perfect sense doesnt it
what is the reason for different start and finish lines anyways?
Was just going to say this, the start and finish line need to be the same what is the point of changing the line placement in a single race
Not that it really matters because photo finishes don't really happen anymore but what is the purpose
I got inspired to ask this because of Formula E's old track in New York City from 2017-2018, the Start line was where you'd expect it to be but not the Finish Line
Back then, the Finish Line was placed right before where Turn 10 is 💀
I'll try to visualize it for you
This is how most tracks place their Start/Finish Lines
And this is how Albert Park placed their Start/Finish Line
Probably has something to do with both of the tracks not being permanent
This now makes me wonder why this isn't also the case for other Street Circuits
Most notably Baku
It's the only other circuit currently on the calendar (as far as I'm aware) that has the Start/Finish & Paddock placed on a 24/7 active public road
