I'd pick '21 or '25 only because he didn't have the fastest car those seasons but managed to win wdc in '21 and lost it for 2 points to a driver with a way faster car in '25.

That was the period where the McLaren drivers were underperforming compared to the car they had. Actually McLaren was the fastest and faster than Red Bull also in the second half of the season. Simply McLaren drivers did bad for most of those races while Max was on fire. That made many people think Red Bull beat McLaren on being the best car.
