hamilition has been terrible for the last 4 years minus 2023

2022 - Scored more podiums than George (Also majority of the reason why the W13 is the most successful Merc in the GE era)
2024 - Two wins to George’s sole win in the closest front pack in ages
2025 - Shit car and race engineer in his first season with a brand new team

And people are saying he’s “washed” and not better than Charles off of one bad season

I'm not very familar with 2022 so i will concede that point but he was beaten by russel in the first year of his team, also (https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/24181/12753208/lewis-hamilton-admits-formula-1-2022-one-of-his-worst-seasons-but-fans-support-got-me-through). but 2024 he had only 1 win on pace and finished 22 points down on george even after 32 point swing in his favour after spa and his ending of the season was abysmal. 9-15 in races Russel's favour and 5-19 quali favour Russel.

on the race engineer side i would argue that carlos got a good thing going with his race engineer. now on to the car. it was a podium conteding car and hamiliton got no podiums, in their times as teamates it was 3-18 favour leclerc in races and 5-19 in quali.

I’m not the one to take anything away from Russell, he’s an exceptional and consistent driver. But if it weren’t for Hamilton never getting to grips with the ground effect cars, you would’ve seen something like an unhindered 2023 Hamilton throughout the whole era. Both of them weren’t separated by a lot with an average 1-2 tenths and most times, dead even. You also can’t forget the engineers aren’t one size fits all, it takes time for a mutual connection.

I’m not doubting that he underperformed this past season, especially towards the end of it as part of the numerous factors that played in, but there were some highs that people discredit him for
