2021 Belgian Grand Prix
2021 abu dhabi might not be the 'best' race, but it certainly is the 'greatest' race of at least the 2020s
2023 zandvoort
the excitement that race gave me was unmatched
then ofc 24 brazil and 21 ad
AD 2021 belongs nowhere near that title
it was pretty boring and it's only memorable bc of that moment
why is 2021 brazil here
wasn't particularly thrilling, short battle for the lead and lewis passing ppl
2022 belgium was just max negating his grid penalty
2022 japan was pretty good ig
2023 singapore was pretty fun but 2022 was probably better
2022 british gp should be here if 2024 is
2020 monza and a few others from that year could probably make the cut too
sorry for critiquing it so much ðŸ˜
its actually the least great race
as a representation of the sport
hmm this is rlly tricky
out of these options its either silverstone 2024 or sakhir 2020, but imo a race like japan 2022 or zandvoort 2023 would be better
2022 silverstone and 2024 silverstone were pure racing and those were great to see
100000000%
personally my pick is 2024 Silverstone, pretty eventful and it ended a long dry spell for Lewis
If it was fan-voted, AD2021 would get spammed because of the ending rather than the whole race
Silverstone 2024 is probably my personal favourite tho
2021 abu dhabi doesnt earn its title because of the whole race being exciting, its because the ending is so iconic and important
a race doesnt have to be entirely good for it to be 'great'
but other than ad21 it would be silverstone 25 or brazil 24
yeah but the ending does not equal the whole race
‘iconic’ and ‘important’ aren’t really the right words
its infamous
^^
sure Max won the title at that race but it shouldn't have happened the way it did, through the FIA being so incompetent
You could argue that
It was more of a Sunday evening drive apart from sbout 2 moments, Perez blocking Hamilton and the final few laps
in 50 years there is a higher chance of a fan knowing about ad21 than any of the races in the list. heck even some of my non-f1 fans have a vague idea of the race. Even if the race was sketchy it kinda defined the way to many newer fans the following years
jeddah 2021 is more iconic
ad21 isnt rlly a race id describe as "iconic"
Who snuck in 2022 belgium
atleast it was a hot mess in a funny way
pure mad max
true lmao
yeah literally nothing happened that race aside from the Alonso-Lewis collision 🤣
can't really think of any races from 22 that would fit in this poll aside from Silverstone but even then Sainz only won bc Ferrari just left Leclerc out for no reason
what in the world
no i mean
other than the perez defense its not a good representation of the sport
why is it ironic that "stop inventing" was said by sainz when he was on the perfect strategy
iconic races don't have to be good representation of the sport
i think it was smth about
engineer telling him to slow down to defend charles from the cars behind
and then he said "stop inventing"
ah
but if they aren't then they kinda aren't iconic are they
plus it's a bad representation of the sport bc of the Masi fuckup
i don’t think anyone would say the 2005 us grand prix or crashgate was the greatest race of the 2000s
oh definitely
