#Who is the best one-time champion in F1 history?

hunt too
id put robserg above kimi
Mansell is the only driver that was the indycar champion and f1 champion at the same time
they put jochen rindt on this list over jenson button
mansell, kimi raikkonen, nico rosberg
mansell fought against some of the greatest drivers of all time
HOLD MY BWOAH
the case for rindt is far stronger than the case for button
both aren’t strong imo
button was a very good driver
rindt died and still won the title
id argue thats pretty impressive
it definitely is alongside being tragic but his career as a whole isn't enough to compete against rosberg, raikkonen and mansell
the recency bias in this poll is wild
no votes for keke rosberg or jochen rindt
is wild
and nico rosberg has more than nigel mansell
I agree with the poll winner but not any other result here
his career is highly overlooked
in his earlier years he was thrown into highly unreliable coopers of the mid to late 60s, but was still highly competitive and far above any teammates he had, his talent was noted strongly by other greats at the time
moving to brabham in 1968 he had the worst luck of his career there, he could have fought for the title but mechanical issues caused him to retire in all but 2 races, both of which he finished 3rd
in 1969 he finally got lucky with lotus and once they resolved their own early reliability issues they were strong and he managed his first win at long last
and then lotus had the best car in 1970, thus rindt's true talent finally shone through, and it's such a shame he died mid-season, he would probably be held in a regard even close to lauda had he been luckier and lived longer
