not all the time, hungary was a saving grace but there was definitely a lot lost in the 3 races beforehand for example

and sure he won in canada but that weekend the mercedes was the best car overall

The Mercedes was 4th fastest at Spa

Absolutely nowhere at Silverstone until the final laps of Q3 where Russell outqualified both Ferraris

And 3rd fastest at Austria where he finished 5th?

Silverstone was the only non maximised result but you have to consider that Russell was on an absolutely horrible strategy and still scored points, unlike Leclerc

And the Mclaren was still fastest at Canada. Piastri was just really slow in the race and Norris qualified P7. If Norris had qualified where Piastri did he probably would’ve won.
