#what does Q1, Q2, Q3 mean??

stages of qualifying that decide the starting grid for the race.
Here’s how it works:

Q1 (First session)
All drivers go out on track. After about 18 minutes, the slowest 5 drivers are eliminated.
Their positions on the grid will be at the back (from P16 to P20). -
Q2 (Second session)
The remaining 15 drivers take part.
After about 15 minutes, the slowest 5 drivers are eliminated again.
They take grid positions P11 to P15. -
Q3 (Final session)
Only the fastest 10 drivers remain.
This 12-minute shootout decides pole position and the top 10 grid spots.
It’s basically a survival tournament:
Q1 → Q2 → Q3 until the fastest remain to fight for the front of the grid.
