stages of qualifying that decide the starting grid for the race.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Q1 (First session)
    All drivers go out on track. After about 18 minutes, the slowest 5 drivers are eliminated.
    Their positions on the grid will be at the back (from P16 to P20).

  2. Q2 (Second session)
    The remaining 15 drivers take part.
    After about 15 minutes, the slowest 5 drivers are eliminated again.
    They take grid positions P11 to P15.

  3. Q3 (Final session)
    Only the fastest 10 drivers remain.
    This 12-minute shootout decides pole position and the top 10 grid spots.

It’s basically a survival tournament:
Q1 → Q2 → Q3 until the fastest remain to fight for the front of the grid.
