I’ve heard rumors that F1 may be switching back to the old naturally-aspirated V10s in 2028. Does anybody know if this is true or not?

It was considered, after concerns about the 2026 engines (since those regs are meant to run until 2029/30). However, it was dismissed at an engine summit held earlier this year, as teams have already committed to the current regs.

  • If they did the 2028 change, teams would have to continue with the current engines until then, and that would leave teams like Audi without a powertrain for next year.

It's not off the table for the future though.

We should bring back the v8s it was the best era

Plus it’s not like bringing back the v8s will bring back the old cars. So it being the best era doesn’t matter that much
