#Worst F1 wreck?

Not sure if it’s the worst, but Francois Cevert and Helmut Koinigg at Watkins Glen in 1973 and 74 (respectively) were definitely brutal.
little gorey so spoiler: ||Both died instantly on impact. Cevert’s body was split in half, and Koinigg was decapitated. Both were a result of crashing into Armco barriers. You can probably search online for a more in depth explanation.||
For me it’s between Von Trips and Ronnie Peterson. Von Trips was more deadly in terms of fatalities, however Ronnie Peterson’s looked the worst
i have seen pictures of helmut koninigg's crash.
it's traumatising
and both were because of improper fastening of armco barriers
and it's a shame the same thing hapened in the 1975 spanish grand prix
(tragic race too)
first let me clarify what i mean by worst and it doesnt mean the most impacted crash just the worst and imo gotta be senna 1994
Personally I'd say the African race that a Marshall was hit at racing speed while crossing a live track and his body windmilled to pieces. Might not be the worst wreck damage wise but worst fatality during a race involving a car.
1975 south african grand prix?
tom pryce? the fire extinguisher hit his head and he too died...
nobody's talking about the 1955 le mans disaster
Wasn’t F1 so not mentioned
Probably yeah
2 people died, Tom Pryce was the driver yeah?
yeah
