t's a bit different when you ask like that.
Lando has proven that he can't challenge the likes of Hamilton, Leclerc or Verstappen.

Is he talented? Hell yes.

Is he better than them? No.

Piastry is quite new and does not have as much experience as Norris, but in my opinion he has a greater ceiling than Norris

He has the best chance (in his career, not of all drivers) in 25' but I think he will squander it.

I understand but the logic of "his first title fight" is pure nonsense. Yes, he had the largest point gap to overcome but this was the longest year in F1 history with 24 races.
You don't always get 2nd chances, champions win with the chances they have. Lando is talented and is a very good driver but isn't at the top of the top level.

On his good days, he can beat the best. But consistency is required to win.

Lando had a very, very slim chance. He had to cover up 80ish points in 10 races after the summer break. And the fact that the gap did come down to 20-30 points by Brazil was quite good. It surely could've been better. Could've been closer. But "first title fight" is not complete nonsense, not only was it his first go at a title, it was also his first time in car that could be competing for podiums and wins consistently, and that immaturity and inexperience did show many times through out the season, both by lando and by team management.
What i feel the best judge would be how he performs this year. If he has learned from the mistakes he made last year and has improved on it, he can surely get more chances to win a championship in future regardless if he wins it this year or not.

Yeah I think you put it in better words. I still stand by the "first title fight" statement, opportunities do not always present themselves, atleast should've made the most of it but I respect your opinion.

Absolutely. Mclaren made blunders too. And 25' would be the best reflection of what Norris and Mclaren can achieve. They will most probably have the fastest car at the beginning of the year, what they did not have last year. I wish them the best and hope all of them will put on a spectacular title fight.
