Verstappen pushes him wide, leaves the track himself and Norris is penalized?!
What Lumixx said
That’s gotta be 3 seconds atleast
Same stuff happened in Brazil 2021, FIA still haven’t learnt
But Verstappen was too off the track
Verstappen just divebombed like an idiot forced lando wide and went off track himself
Verstappen made no attempt to make the full turn in hopes that there was a collision or penalty for Norris.
Not a Norris fanboy. Just how it was, you can see that Max is literally not turning at the point his front right leaves the track
he was ahead
the penalty is only fair if max got one for T1 lap 1
max was never making that corner
pushes Lando and himself off and keeps the position
what about Austria?
Lando doesn't even go off track and max keeps the position
the stewards are an actual joke
Fia just handing verstappen another championship
Lando by definition left the track and gained an advantage
Lap 1 turn 1 Cota never has penalties for pushing off the track
It happens every time
Thats why we have people doing that job not robots following definitions
Right and the people decided he left the track and gained an advantage…
"Oh no the stewards are enforcing the rules as they are written"
He got forced of the track 💀
I just watched the highlights, i honestly feel he didn't deserve the penalty at all, but at the same time, I think McLaren risked it unnecessarily, lando could have given the position back and overtook max again by next lap. They still had 3 laps to go, so I don't think it was worth risking the penalty
That doesn't matter. Show me in the rules where you can overtake someone while off the track?
Show me in the rules where u can force other driver off the track
it does say in the rules the car being overtaken must be able to make the corner within track limits as well
Lando deserved a penalty but max also deserved a penalty
Lando overtaking made everyone overlook the fact max forced him off
the precedent this year was set in Austria and Max wasn't punished
(lap 63 not the collision on lap 64)
It's only forcing another driver off track when the other driver is ahead at the apex. Norris wasn't ahead at the apex, so hence "lost the right to the corner"
You cant just divebomb and say u were ahead he was a whole car lenght behind until he dove in like an idiot and didnt even keep his car on track
Facts
draw out that logic though
max is ahead at the apex because he carries too much speed and is unable to make the corner
why wasn't Austria lap 63 penalised
and to take that logic to an extreme level
if someone steams in braking 30m too late into that corner
they will be ahead at the apex
so the other car would be wrong to overtake off the track then? simply because they were behind at the apex due to the overtaking car carrying so much speed they aren't actually making the corner
Ahh right, so why wasn't max penalised right at the start? Lando was ahead and max pushed him off the track.
