Lawson clears bearman and antonelli?
Lawson has been in contention for regular wins or the title in a junior formula like every year of his racing career
in fact not just junior formulae
he's 22 (I think) and he should have won DTM in his rookie year which isn't a junior formula
experienced drivers of all ages
beat his teammate Alex Albon comfortably
in 2023 he came incredibly close to talking the super formula title which is literally faster than f2 and is not a junior series so he's going up against drivers much more experienced and older
probably would have won without being forced wide which pitched him into a spin and a huge crash at motegi
ok this is all about wording right
better, sure I'll argue Lawson, he's more experienced, more knowledge of diff cars and has better racecraft
better tire management aswell
but fastest, I'd argue antonelli
hes generational, he's whooping bearman in that prema, hes p5 in the 6th fastest car
even if Ollie converted the pole he'd be ahead in the standings by far
once he gets used to the f2 car it's wraps
and once prema fix their shit
not to mention great raw pace because you can't be fast in a series every year without it
antonelli has shown more raw pace
but it's all about how he does in higher downforce faster machinery
it's all well and good doing f4 series after f4 series
sargeant was pretty fast in junior formulae but he's been shit in f1
There are factors that played into that, though.
of course but ultimately
Don’t forget he started off the first two rounds quite strong and very close to Albon.
oh you mean f1
And he did show a few glimmers of the talent he showed in the past.
Good news, though.
he was up there with Piastri in f3
He’s spearheading PREMA’s new Indycar team according to rumors.
What’s weirdest to me is his lack of Qualifying form in F1.
He was a fucking monster in Qualy in the Junior formula.
then it all spiralled out of control from the moment his lap at Saudi got deleted
He’s been closer but he’s still not beaten him.
7*.
he's been closer but
Part of me feels it’s a lack of confidence to push it to the limits.
I think he will.
