2009 Custom Teams
2009 will bring custom teams into the mix. There are 2 types of custom teams:

• Takeover
  A takeover custom team is open to those who have experienced at least 1 full season as a driver in UR2D2 competition(no joining midway throughout the season). Takeover teams are where you cannot change things such as the brand name(for example Williams stays Williams no matter what)but you are able to control the sponsors, livery and driver contracts as you wish.
• Rebrand
  A rebrand custom team allows you to do everything in Takeover and more including changing the name and color scheme etc, but they are only open to those who have experienced at least 2 full seasons as a driver in UR2D2 competition. They are also only available when in real life an existing team changes brand fully(an example is Honda to Brawn GP this year).

Template to signup a custom team:
TEAM TYPE: (takeover or rebrand)
TEAM REPLACEMENT: (the team you're replacing)
TEAM NAME: (rebrand only)
DRIVER 1: (the first driver you have negotiated a contract with)
DRIVER 2: (the second driver you have negotiated a contract with)
FORMAL NAME: (the formal name you wish to use as a team, this will appear in FGC, for example Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro or ING Renault F1 Team instead of Ferrari or Renault)

DRIVER STATS EXPLAINED
In 2008, every driver had fixed stats at the start of the season, and whoever you replaced would determine where you started off. As the season progressed, everyone gradually improved at each race. In 2009, it's different. You all will start with 60 overall(although each individual stat will be different), and this will improve throughout your entire career, not just one season. This means no matter what driver you replace, you'll all start from the same bat, but will improve over time, drivers who were originally better will improve for 2009 and 2010 faster than worse drivers.
The teams are really what's going to make the difference now - and the cars too will improve over the season.
