#Why did Lewis and Charles both get disqualified in the U.S grand prix?

because they wore the floor too much
Under the F1 cars there is a wooden plate for safety where there is a wear limit, lewis and leclerc exceeded that limit
basically if they exceed the limit their car was too close to the floor
which breaks the rules
Ohhh thank u
But is that even reliably measurable? I mean afaik it were tenths if a mm for leclerc
cant this just happen by accident?
Not really. It should only happen if the car is too low to the ground
Well It probably wasn’t on purpose by Ferrari and Mercedes but the teams try to run the‘re cars as low as possible and as you said it was only really really less so it was most likely byaccident. In Austin it was extremely difficult for all the teams as the track is very bumpy and there was only one Practice and no time to analyse the data. On top of that only four cars were investigated so it’s likely that a lot more where running to low.
