#Verstappen Winning

I don't get why people are suddenly quitting F1. It's been like this, in fact worse than this, since 2014, with the reception of 2021 and perhaps 2016. Now after going into year 3 of Verstappen domination, people are quitting, but 7 years of merc domination, which was a bigger gap than today, is fine
I'm enjoying this Verstappen dominance ngl (hope he wins every race 'til the end of the season)
but I understand the people quitting it. I quit F1 in 2016 when Mercedes dominance was overwhelming
I hate the verstappen dominance, but I'm still gonna watch. Because someone else might just win
Agreed
Yeah well ofc max fans like it
It's boring as hell
At least the midfield is very close, and the fight for 2nd is aswell
Also, merc domination wasn't quite the same
2014-2015 any merc could win a race, but more often Lewis
2016 we had a full on title battle between nico and Lewis which was very entertaining
2017-2018 we had Lewis vs seb
2019 and 2020 Lewis dominated
It wasn't quite the same as a single driver winning on repeat
well last year we could have got Leclerc Vs Verstappen.....
Ferrari was incompetent lol
And Mercedes kinda fell of
Notice though that it was always a merc winning, except for the year Ferrari cheated
It's not different
No it is difficult
In fact it's way worse
Merc had a seconds faster advantage compared to RB now
You just didn't like merc domination cause you're a rb fan
It's still 2 diff drivers with a chance no?
That was happening before Perez did some wacky stuff
And you don't like rb domination because your a merc fan
I'm stating facts as well
I don't see how merc having a larger advantage is worse than only one driver winning every weekend
It means that only a merc driver will win, if one fails there is no competition for the others
With RB, if max screws up, and accoring to you Checo can't win a race, so therefor someone else must be crowned the winner, that's now rb
Plus seing midfield battles like this rather than the entire coverage being focused on the lead, like it was in merc domination, is way better and makes h the sport more enjoyable
reading through this
both of u have some valid points
however, even if it wasn't 7 years, Merc dominated 2019 and 20, and red bull look set to dominate this year so no one has really dominated for too long and they can be treated very similarly
it's not like in 2019 and 2020 Bottas was fighting for wins regularly
so 2019 and 2020 were pretty similar, especially 2020 and 2023 with both having a car well clear
