They continually end up on or near the top of reliability and sales charts, and though not objective, continually put out timeless designs.

I think it's also worth mentioning that they have a great business model.

Toyota seems to understand that, with the right approach, you can stick to what works and try something new.

They can simultaneously make a dependable everyday car and invest in new technologies, like with the Mirai.

Granted, that's due in part to their massive success. They have the money to do that.

As does G.M., though. They have the money to try new things, but they don't.
