Type 53
Giancarlo Fisichella driving for Minardi-Ford during the 1996 Australian GP
And how is that f1 related
they were talking bout smth
they mentioned the bugatti chiron
which was named after louis chiron
and one of the oldest drivers to race in f1
Probably, last race aged 56
55y 09m 19d, he is the oldest driver to race in GP
And finished 6th
goat
It’s all connected
Don’t u worry
Lotus? Um nope, tyrell
The Brabham powered by the BMW turbocharged monster
The unsuccessful Subaru Flat 12 powered car
@round swift looky
Ah, the Coloni C3B. A good looking car, but a bad performing one.
I don’t know why Coloni would go back to using a chassis design that teams used throughout the early to late 80’s
Because Chiti was in charge
I wonder why
What year is that from
That 4K quality though 🌧 💧 is that a real picture or did someone make it
1990
Sexy livery
But I know one that’s even better
Sexyyy black n white 🤤
ye it looked decent
Especially the 1988 one
😋
Ive unfortunately got no idea dude i found it in another server, sorry :/
There’s something about the 1987 Tyrrell that I just find interesting
Holy shit if thats a real pic
Surely it cant be
Nonetheless still pretty epic
I knew it but it seems so realistic
Yeah
It’s just fantastic weirdly shaped. It reminds me of my bathtub in my bathroom
But nonetheless still very interesting design
If I’m honest, it somewhat reminds me of the Ferrari 641 for some reason. Secondly, it’s starting to grow on me
I could see it tbh
From this angle, it reminds me of the Ferrari F186, but from the side, it reminds me of the 641.
This reminds me of it kinda aswell
From the listing: Tyrrell 017-2 for sale Currently fitted with 3 litre DFV 1069 on electronic fuel injection with around 1500 miles on the motor since last rebuild This car was entered in 7 GP for Julian Bailey in 1987 Brazil DNQ San Marino retired Mexico DNQ Canada crashed Detroit 9th France DNQ Italy…
🤔
The 1988 Dallara looks weird with an engine cover
You going to buy it?
65k pounds 👀
If im rich maybe
Out of all the F1 cars Dallara produced, this might be the best looking
Thats more like it
Haha
Yes that’s true it’s one of the best designs aswell
if i just had 100k euros
if my dad was willing to buy it
so damn cheap 4 an f1 car
That is really cool
This gives me chills
Helmut Marko driving for BRM in 1972
But it is up for sale
They only have 3 race wins so I mean definitely off the pace
Yea
I like all the cars newey has designed
Yeah no kidding they are all special in a way
But his most successful is kinda obvious
Sure, but I was talking about the FW14 and the FW15C… haha

Mmmm Honda
shame they outright dropped Spirit
Niceeee
why you are apologising? Just asking.
This is one of my favorite liveries in F1
March is it?
Shadow
Because that joke was absolutely terrible
ah ok
I'm bad at understanding jokes
The Spirit of Honda
Basically the manor livery
Is that the Fittipaldi one?
Awesome
The F190
Have my fave 2 Shadows
The Shadow DN6 Dodge F5000
And the Shadow DN7 Matra
the fact that this car had no front wing is amazing
I like all the cars with no front wing tbh
Yeah the look better
If you want to ram your opponents out of the way, when in doubt, use the Battering Ram Nose
The ground effect era haha
Cool aero designs
Woah
Never seen that before
Which one
Is that James hunt
Yes
Me neither
I just found it on a website
Lmao look at what I found
1968 Brabham BT23C

That was the 1978 Mclaren M26
You might as well call the wing “The shelf wing”
Yeah tbh 😂
Wtf is this
Looks like an alien spacecraft
You’re kinda right
Dat front wing
So close
Look at what I found
Same car and number
I think
Second guess: Nurburgring 1942
Found it
1935 German GP
Tazio Nuvolari
OMG Bruh
@round swift U GOOGLED??????
Possibly

2nd ques
I mean it had to be in between 1935-1945 and in Germany
When and where?
I’m guessing 1925
Dont u google or u noob
Lmao
I won’t
No
1911
Damn wtf
Older then the titanic sinking
Jeez man
Haha
Guess the year and track
ANSWER: ||Indianapolis|| ||||500 1939||
@oblique dock
Take a look at this
The Brabham BT33
Holy
🤣
Scuderia actually developed the Ferrari F88A, an evolution on their challenge from 1987 the F1-87. During the 1988 season, the Scuderia appeared with the F88A with Roberto Moreno behind the wheel of the car at Fiorano.

That looks like something from a cartoon
Haha
Holy mother of god
why does the car look so small
again
It looks like a car at a mall
Where the hell is the rest of the engine cover
It doesn’t have one maybe?!
Oh wow this one is really nice
Beautiful design
Reminds me of the Jordan 191
Enrique Scalabroni
Honda RC101
Oh ye dude was at Lotus
Roland 💔
What the
A decent paint scheme on a not-so-F1-standard car. Shame the main sponsor were so impatient
the car was also godawful tbh
At least it was quicker than the piece of junk Life L190
one of the last teams to not pass the 107% and be denied to race
Also one of the few rare examples of Ferrari testing out an idea from another team, and this was before they copied the F-Duct from McLaren
"I hate to say this but, a lot of people here are really debating whether Ricardo Rosset is Formula 1 material."
"Well it's a fairly short debate, Murray."
kekw
I swear F1 commentators are more entertaining than the race sometimes
it's their job
‘In 1993, Reliant, best known for the Robin and Rialto had made their entrance into Formula 1. Their car had sported the same 3 wheeled design, just like their road cars. It was powered by an outdated Ford DFZ and only featured a 4 speed manual. During its first test at Silverstone, the car had flipped over going into Copse and as a result, killed their test driver (who was the team’s lorry driver.) Reliant F1 was charged with manslaughter and was banned permanently banned from F1 as a result.’
why would they think 3 wheels was good for a racing car
and 4 speed manual lmao
What the ...
...what the fuck
erm… um… i just decided to make that after looking at that ridiculous concept by enrique scalabroni
is it a bit much???
Did everyone assume that was real?
Is this true? I can’t find any pictures of them testing at silver stone
cant find any info on it
.
No no no i made a fake headline about it
So was the racer the lorry driver or the lorry driver the racer?
Whatever u want mate
'In 1979, an American team named the Dodge F1 team attempted to join the grid. It was not the official Dodge company running it, rather a small mechanics shop, founded in Omaha, Nebraska. Their first design called for a 6.0l V8 to be fitted inside of their car. This was not all, however, as they planned to make the cars supercharged for the 1980 season, producing a predicted 900bhp. Their first test did not go smoothly, as the freezing conditions at the Watkins Glen international race course caused the drivers, John Stennol (Former Mechanic) and Max Sotherby (British Formula 2 competitor) to get frostbite on their fingers. The team's second test at Indianapolis, went even worse. The high-speed circuit pushed the engine to intense forces, causing Stennol to retire after his engine blew up, and Sotherby to retire due to a supposed oil line failure. The cost of these repairs and running of the cars put the team into severe debt, and eventual bankruptcy, before the team even made it to the first race of the season.'
long ass article
but
a story of failure
Stennol
Sounds like the kinda stuff you buy at a gas station to "improve fuel efficiency"
Well they were a mechanic
wtf
what the fuck did I just read
reliant robin but a f1 car
Haha
A frigging f1 tank
Philippe Alliot in the Mclaren MP4/9
March 8-11, 1994, followed by interview of Alain Prost and Ron Dennis (along Jean-Pierre Jabouille representing Peugeot Sport Engine). You can also see Mika Häkkinen preparing his helmet at the beginning.
Yes Prost said it was shit and never returned again
Bridgestone test car 1993
Charles Leclerc, the Indonesian
VS
Sean Gelael, the Monegasque.
he controlled that oversteer in the 2nd turn well
Driver?
I think it might be Heinz Harald Frentzen, judging by the helmet design
Ah
Cheers
What in the ever living fuck is that
Formula Tank, Engage!
It was Heinz Frentzen
Yeah pretty much 😂
WW2 Formula Tank
Fastest one
Is that real? @round swift
Where tf did u get that pic
Of the tank hahahaha
It was a thought but never created irl. Only a drawing exists of it
12-wheeler
Any idea what year/decade?
Let me try to find it
Cool
It looks very 70s to me
There ya go
That’s very ambitious
To bad we didn’t see an 12-wheeler and niki lauda as their driver, but tbh they wouldve came in last place no doubt about that
Yeah
Coulthard testing any mid-late 90s car
Thas a lotta tyres
Stewart SF3B Michelin test car
Worst of all

The normal Michelin mascot is creepy ngl
Yea
1800s is a mummy on the run
I wonder what the guy who made the 1898s was smoking
guess they had thin as hell tires back then
Oh btw does anyone know the name of this car?
312T4 or something i forgot
Thanks mate
the 1976 one
Thank u
aight
312T2
The 312T2 and the 312T4 are the best looking
Yes
Woo
The 312T2 won both the 1976 and 1977 wcc
👌
Lauda won his second championship with it
Ooo
It'd have to be a single, long axle
Ooo
Congrats @pastel ginkgo, you're now on lap 5
So i'd imagine take the wheelnut off and pull from the center
Reminds me of the batmobile lol
Extra rear grip
More rubber contact = more grip
With 2 tires you had more surface area
I think
Yea yea but why not make 1 big tire
It would even fill the little gap between the two
So even more surface area
"What kind of engine have they got in the back of that Sauber, Murray? Isn't a Ferrari?"
"Uh, why yes it is! Yes! (Begins to laughs) Martin, you are a cynical chap!"
Excuse me
tyrrell p34 would like to meet u
74
@round swift what is the best looking car in your opinion?
312T4 was in 1979 if I'm right
ah mb
Aw it looks like a toy car
T4 and T5 aren't the prettiest Ferraris
the noise of this engine

Well i know it wasn’t directed towards me, but for early obviously the lotus 49 takes the cake, if we are talking pre-2000 probably either the 97t or 98t, or one of the 90s mp4, and if we are talking modern but pre-halo, i would say the brawn gp car
it was so different yet cool to me
I really miss when we still had these wild designs, stupid safety restrictions! /s
The best looking car for me
Is ughhh
Give me a minute
This is hard
Yeah
It is so broad
Do the categories i used
Early (pre-aero)
Pre-2000
Post-2000 pre-halo
@round swift
for me it's easily the 94 Benetton
Oooo
even the 93 Benetton was beautiful
Was that Schumacher's?
it was Schumacher's first title winning car
Oooooo
For me personally. A good looking car must have two simple things, good aerodynamic design, no gimmicks, just simple aerodynamic flow, and secondly, beautiful and colourful design that’s just breathtaking to the eyes, and for that. I believe the best looking F1 car is the Onyx ORE-1
Whoa
Just for me it looks fantastic
Nice livery (if i spelled it right)
He died?
I like the brawn gp's wheels
That’s awful
Yea
he just breathed F1
He just was F1
Frank Williams: One of the greats
He became a tetraplegic in 1986, but still continued to lead the team into various championships.
Wow
That video where Lewis takes him on a lap around Silverstone is just too wholesome
Ikr
Underpowered and Unreliable. Still managed to score 2nd place on two occasions
Its a car and it will drive no matter how bad it is
Senna 4K
Lmao
Ayrton Senna Brabham BT52B Paul Ricard 1983
Alain Prost (disguised as Erik Comas) tests the new Ligier-Renault V10, JS37
Interesting zakspeed, they didn't run in 84 did they
They were planning on running in the 84 season but I guess they just decided to wait until the 1985 season
Cause these were built in 1984…
Nigel Mansell Jordan 196 Peugeot Barcelona 1996
Yet still feels old for some reason
Is that keke rosberg?
yes it is
👀
I think it looks like a colourisation mostly because the lighting makes his eyebrows a blue grey with alot of change
damn this image is nicer
Also his skin looks very matte, it isn’t shiny like normal skin, and there is like no change in tone
it's shiny under his eye
It mith5 be they turned up the shadows
Kind of like this, you know? His skin looks very rubberlike, not shiny like human skin usually is
Black and white to colour doesn’t really good well together
His skin looks very alive and real feel to it
The picture was taken in 1994 and the cameras from then were a lot better from the 1980’s, I believe that the picture isn’t edited a lot. Just a good camera quality
Idk it just looks like it for me 🤷♂️ good picture tho
See he has different colors in that pic
Different lighting
Dark vs bright
The only 4K quality picture I can find of Senna
The one above is either 1080p or 1440p
1440p
Nigel Mansell in the FW16 at Estoril
Thats a nice pic
See how it is different shades of brown and pink and tan
Thats what i mean
The first pic just looks like the same color shifted darker or lighter
Idk
Im not doubting its a color photo, it just looks strange to me
Did senna ever drive one of these?
I knew it was familiar
👀
Oh lol
The McLaren with the second brake pedal
Beautiful picture!
Senna was advised to take a small team offer rather than a top team, which he might have offers for
look, alonso had no brake and we had 2 brake pedals
Ferrari: complains about…
James Hunt’s mclaren being “too wide”
Some innovation other teams introduced
Why the FIA isn’t giving them the attention they need
Drivers who aren’t Michael Schumacher
Number two drivers
Why do they look like theyre doing the bottle flip challenge
“If I can break the lap record at Donington, then I can do this as well”

Future teammates
Crazy how little protection they had compared to today
Also that sega advertisement is funny, I don’t think i have seen it like that before
donington 1993 had sega everywhere lmao
massive game gears acting as big screens to watch the race
sega ads everywhere
sonic trophy
sonic grid girls
etc

True
only for a couple months :c
:/
Nice pic
Nice profile picture 😆
That was from 1983 testing with toleman
Oooooo
Thats Prost and who is the other driver?
Damon Hill
Congrats @round swift, you're now on lap 15
Lol Prost looks kinda weird in that pic
Back when a cigarette company was still a sponsor

The least that could have been done was to put some grid girls in sega t shirts
That looks frigging scary
Gilles got caught red handed
She is in the cars way 😕
I know it doesnt fit the pre-2001 but this pic
Godlonso
now thats some family friendly boob-age
alonso's like "i drive cars, why do i have to be with you guys"
reminds me of the pic where nando is looking at a lingerie model
and just stating at her face
as a sign of confusion
He's like "umm are you lost?"😂
" 😐 "
play ps2 get some boobs

Boobs
Is it true that Lotus used the 1970 Lotus 72 chassis for at least 4 or 5 years?
Yes, because it was a damn good car for its time
it had some iterations, but yes the Lotus 72 was still used in 1975 at the very last race by the team
and it was introduced for the 2nd race of 1970
it was used for so long because it was a revolutionary car, way ahead of the competition
and also because it's successor, the Lotus 76, was just bad.
Prost's "truck"
Which apparently was because its shock absorbers failed during the 91 Japanese Grand Prix
Does any one have a high definition version of the senna eau reague photo
if it was today F1 would get cancelled bcs it's too sexist
noice
Senna with a white suit??
for offtrack stuff
aLoNSo?!
Can we get this to the starboard guys?
It probably already has at some point
Plus like everything that makes it to starboard is a meme
What city
detroit
Its genius marketing, you look at boobs you look at their logo too!
👌

Ill post it in #f1-hq-photos-and-videos where it should be
Yes it's true place 👍
Karting against Prost 1993 that’s why with the different suit
why does that look like prost to me
yooooo what i would love to see that
Whats the oldest car
…and then he got replaced by Gianni Morbidelli
what does that even mean
number 12
Oh
mp4/4
Thanks
number 8 car is the '93 car i think
Yea
👀
Shame it was underpowered compared to the Benetton and Williams of the same year
Number 12 looks the best imo
what engine did the benetton of that year use
bc ik the williams of '93 used a renault engine
Benetton received a more powerful Ford V8 than Mclaren
Ooo
bruh they're both ford v8's
why would one team get a more powerful engine than the other
makes no sense
Benetton had a pre existing contract as Ford’s factory team
Mclaren had to use a customer Ford V8
surely they'd be of the same specification though
until half season
when they got the same engine as Benetton
mp4/5b is my fave
Nice
When i think senna the 4/4 comes to mind, but when i think of the whole series somehow my mind goes to the 4/6
And in the end, Mclaren finished ahead of Benetton in the wcc
it was bound to be
even with a slightly lower grade engine, they had a much better car
the 1988 mp4/4 number 12 was Senna’s
👌
The most dominant f1 car in history by two of the greatest drivers ever
Didn’t it only loose one race?
And its because he got dsq?
Oh nvm
It was monza, prost retired and senna got p10
👌
They should’ve won
Yeah
👀
Yo guys look what i just bought
"I'm getting understeer!"
"On which wheel?!"
There is this karting stuff store near the track i go karting at
And they were selling senna's helmet replicas
For like 200 dollars
So i asked mom to buy me one
Its so cool
That is awesome
Ikr
How well does it fit?
Excellent
Is that your dog?
my parents
Oh yeah. Place the mirror in front of the cockpit. What could go wrong?
"Hey. Where's the radiator on this car?"
hajahahhahaha
Origins of the halo
Alain Prost in dog form (circa 1990)
Lol whoa
That makes it funny for some reason
Dog prost
😆
Eifelland team right
dog got drip 🥶
Early halo prototype
Designed by Luigi Colani iirc
ah yes the famous.
Wow! looked him up, those are some wild designs
Obviously would never work, but interesting
It’s like the modern day halo with the line in your direct view
Caution: WIDE VEHICLE
Peter Gethin
Braun GP
That’s the Tyrrell 020
I say that the 019 version is the best tyrrell model from the 1990’s
I’m pretty sure it was the first f1 car with the elevated nose
Or one of the first
The first
And to think it was also supposed to br Rothmans liveried
Yup
Would’ve been a better livery
Nigel Mansell
how did drivers train before sims were introduced?
u dont
Train for what
race

uh yes?
The ugliest pre-silver mclaren imo
Aka pre4/12
I agree
The Mp4/11
Mp4-6 was the best
Guess the driver
Alan Jones
Dang
Took him a second
Guess the driver
Wait dang it
His name is on the car
we talked about it on the other server today actually
Ah yes my favorite driver, Marlboro
Didn’t know Ivan Capelli tested the 643
Yeah I think it was pre season testing
Lola-Hart THL1 Beatrice
The Lola THL1 was a Formula One racing car designed by Neil Oatley for Team Haas (USA) Ltd. during four of the last five races of the 1985 Formula One season. The car used the 750 bhp (559 kW; 760 PS), turbocharged Hart 415T Straight 4 engine. The Haas Lola team only had one car for 1985 and it was driven by 1980 World Champion Alan Jones, who w...
Wasn’t it Ford?
Nope
Oh
Did they have a deal with Ford?
Or is Wiki lying to me
Yes
Let me take a look
The Lola THL2 used Ford engines
THL2 uses a ford engine I think
Yes
Ah
The picture I sent was the THL1
Interesting
.
Yep
The Lola THL2 was a Formula One racing car designed by Neil Oatley for FORCE and was used by Team Haas (USA) Ltd. during the 1986 Formula One season. Two of the FORCE aerodynamicists who worked on the car during its countless hours of Wind tunnel testing were a young Ross Brawn and Adrian Newey. The car debuted at the 1986 San Marino Grand Prix ...
Were Hart engines shit?
haas bacc then
Unreliable and the power was marginal but behind mclaren, lotus, Williams etc
Different Haas lol
“The team was commonly known as Haas Lola due to Haas's association with Lola Cars International, although Lola was not involved in the project.”
look at haas today
sad
The first THL2-Ford was completed for Jones, but was only able to qualify 21st in comparison to Tambay's eleventh in the THL1-Hart. Jones commented during qualifying that the THL2 was a great handling car, all that was needed was more horsepower from the new engine.
Wow 🤣
need the cheems template xd
The McLambo, the unraced Lambo V12 powered McLaren
Why did cars like the 312t have hugeeee airboxs/air intakes?
Been wonderin this for a long time tbh
For air
i really wonder how Ferrari managed to dominate the 79 title fight with this car
they retired less
gilles retired from 3 and sheckter twice\
jones retired 7 times and lafitte retired 8 times
laffite*
true, but then they also were quicker
70s aerodynamicists were high on something
Lmao
Instead of push down, why don’t we S U C C down
The larger the airbox, the greater amount of air that can be used for the ram effect in order to what is essentially a mild supercharging effect, as that larger volume is still being forced into the same size intake trumpets
There wasn't a height restriction on them so they used all their knowledge to make boxes that made them have more power
This'd increase with speed especially

owo mclaren
The picture above isn’t the 012 lol
correct it's the 011
and it isn't ugly neither
*011B and yes it had an enormous huge nose
Definitely not one of the prettiest
i don't think they renamed it the 011B in 1983
The 011 raced in three seasons
yes
and it was always the 011
There were different versions
yes ofc
which includes the b version
