How does the simulated race work? I've tried F1 2018 with a controller and my controller is really bad and also I'm not used to playing with controller. Can I play the game like a glorified Motorsport Manager? Because the Motorsport Manager has not been updated since 2017 and I've got really bad results with the tires as they fall of very quickly and my car becomes as slow as GP2 car. I just wanna design my own livery, do some thinking and development on my team.
The game I'm mentioning is of course F1 2020.

So start of Q1 at Zandvoort was inter conditions
So I went out with everyone else at the start and did three laps on the inter before I boxed
And with 5 minutes to go it was still inter conditions and I was P7 so I was like yeah I'll stay in the garage and save the car
Then it cuts to the black screen and then to the timing screen
And in 1m30s there has been 8 seconds of track improvement
And I'm P18 8 seconds off pole
So I'm like nah and restart the session
And now I'm 300 IQ smarter so I don't go out until the very end of Q1 and this time it was time for dries
So I go out with the rest of the midfield, and the top 3 teams stay in the garage for some reason so I'm like interesting
Then since it went from inters to dries everyone improves and my teammate improves to P1
I went purple in the first and second sector because I was the last car around BUT WHEN I CROSS THE LINE I'm fucking P12
