The 3 drivers are at fault, mostly middle and right:

• Left driver had option to go off-track to prevent accident, but can't be blamed for that
• Middle driver could've prevented a 3-wide but sent it anyway
• Right driver ignored traffic, aimed for a wide racing line, pushed off 2 cars
  My call would be 10s penalty for you, drive-through/stop and go for car on right, and penalty points for both
  And maybe attempted murder charge too while we're at it

the way i learnt was just upshifting when the shift lights go blue/purple whatever you see and then mashing downshift when you brake

theres also suggested gears to help

typically you want to be in the lowest gear you can without hitting the rev limiter

i have set up a pretty interesting title finale in my F1 23 save that i feel like sharing here

To set the scene: It's season 6, the 2028 season, Zwaansport who have won the last five consecutive Constructors' titles, and got the top 2 positions in the Driver’s Championship, had a slow start to the year. Their pairing was rookie Lina Manz and 2 time champion Max Verstappen.

idk actually how to summarise the season.

For us it started slow, ramped up mid season, slowed down a little bit again, but got A LOT faster in the three consecutive Sprint weekends of Qatar, the USA and Brazil, taking six consecutive double podiums from Sprints and GPs, sealing the constructors' title from nowhere, and taking the provisional 1-2 in the Driver’s title away as well. Into Portugal it was Manz leading, Verstappen 2 points behind, Piastri a further 3 points away, and Russell another 1. The top 4 were within 6 points with 2 races to go.

Then Manz wins AGAIN in Portugal, three wins in a row to pull 12 points clear of Verstappen in the title, with Russell 19 behind her and Piastri 20 behind her.

But in Vegas, the finale, Manz has a huge crash in Q1, and Piastri fails to make it out of Q1 as well.

Russell exiting in Q2 as well makes the advantage lie with Verstappen who qualified 3rd in a Q3 but got promoted to 2nd on the grid.

TL;DR, where the contenders start for the finale:

Doing career mode with McLaren-Honda at F1 2017 is really sufferable in early game, but the car does good even when it's 110 AI at some tracks

and I actually thought i got it because marc was screaming on the radio after abu dhabi, but it was for the constructors championship

let me explain how i lost this one:
I led the entire season and had a decent gap over Charles and Lando after Mexico.
Then came Brazil, where I crashed in the sprint, and got a mechanical failure in the race
Then came Vegas, where I was going three wide for the race win with Russell and Albon, who were both looking for their first podium of the entire season (trust me, Albon not getting one was for ferrari strategies and Leclerc also had a bunch of missed opportunities for the championship) but in this moment, Russell decides to HIT me, break my front wing, and ultimately all 3 of us got some damage, although I was the only one who pitted early to fix my front wing.
Coming into Abu Dhabi, I lost the lead FOR THE FIRST TIME the entire season and Leclerc led 4 clear of me and 19 ahead of Norris.
I took pole ahead of Lando, then came Piastri, Verstappen and Leclerc was 5th on the grid, Lando and I had grown a decent gap over the rest but Lando ultimately overtook me and started gapping me fast, I decided that I wanted to round off the season with a race win and went for an undercut, but as soon as I pit, Verstappen spins and hits Leclerc, DNFing on the spot and theres a red flag and ive fallen to 17th place. idk how but i recovered quickly and was fighting with Charles for P4, his AI defended like a beast and I needed to catch Russell for P3 so that I had a big enoough gap to re-overtake Charles in the championship, but I had completely wasted my tires fighting Charles. I decided to back him up to the cars behind, and on the final lap, I managed to make Gasly overtake Leclerc and Tsunoda somehow overtook him as well, but I made a mistake on the final few corners and Gasly overtook me, I thought i got it anyway but I completely forgot about Lando and did not think I would lose a tiebreaker like that 💀

The opening lap was a little chaotic, Max had a poor start from pole which gave Lina the lead, ahead of Dennis Hauger, Liam Lawson and George Russell, then Verstappen in 5th.

At turn 11, Manz runs wide, rejoins safely, then gets tagged by Hauger turning in too early at turn 12, causing Manz to slide across the inside runoff and letting Lawson past, rejoining P3 and reclaiming P2 onto lap 2. Manz accrued very subtle and undetectable wing damages from the tap with Hauger. Hauger began to extend his lead, and Verstappen made the climb back up the order, eventually reaching and passing Manz.

After the pit stops mid race, things looked quite similar, except Lawson was out of the top 5, Russell was 4th and Alex Albon had made the climb from 11th to 5th. Verstappen spun on lap 14, falling to 10th and needing to recover.

Well, as it turns out, a two stop in Melbourne doesn't work 100% of the time.

As Jack Doohan, I started P4 in Australia, but because I constantly got attacked by Verstappen and Leclerc, I never had perfect pace during the first two stints, and in the end, all that came out was 7th.

Leclerc took the first win of the year, Piastri takes his first podium at home, and my teammate Pierre... Let's just say his day in the office came to a very early end. 😅

The race started with clean, enthralling action with wheel to wheel battles, and at one point, the whole running top 5 within a second.

Manz was looking on to lead the opening lap, until about turn 25 when Albon came through for P1, and he ended the lap ahead, though Manz did immediately repass Albon to T1 on lap 2. So Albon technically first lap leader.

Albon battled Manz fiercely, but she wouldn't give in. In the background though, her tyres had already completely gone off by the end of lap 4, plus she picked up minor wing damages, which she had to get replaced in the pits.

With Manz coming in, Albon led the race, Verstappen had gotten to 2nd, and Logan Sargeant from 8th on the grid having taken a penalty for a component change, had made his way onto the podium.

The pit stop phase shook things up a little, as Sargeant was the first to pull the trigger on lap 7, Verstappen among the last on lap 10, pitted from what was the lead as he had passed Albon, but on Verstappen's exit, Sargeant narrowly got ahead, and led the race through lap 11 and onto 12, before eventually Max fought back to the lead.

Ocon, who had been running all the way up in 7th place (as opposed to being last in the title with 1 point in the whole of 2028) heartbreakingly had an engine failure on lap 14

At the end of lap 14, Manz is really struggling with tyre wear again, and has been grazing walls a little again, picking up minor wing damage.. until the whole wing comes off at the exit of turn 27. She's running 3rd, but Norris then comes alongside her up the inside on the pit straight meaning she can't pit onto lap 15. Wheel to wheel, Manz somehow manages to stay ahead of Lando.. for now.

Turn 4, she can't get the car turned fully, runs off track, rejoins, but Lando Norris hits Lina's rear left tyre, taking his front right endplate off completely. Norris swerves over to the right, completely disregarding Hauger's presence behind, and his rear right tyre takes off the Aston's front left endplate.

Lina continues to struggle, running wide at basically every turn now, and even pulls off the racing line, not wanting to hold up cars if she can. She decides to pull back in to the line ahead of the Haas of Drugovich for P13.

Then she runs wide AGAIN at turn 16-17, and Drugovich gets past.

Lina stays behind Felipe, but at turn 22 can't get the car stopped and turned properly, makes an attempt, but barrels into the wall at the end of the runoff between turn 22 and 23, rebounding back onto the track which takes Zhou's front wing off his Audi, shears a tyre from Albon's Ferrari (who's down in about P16 at this point after a VERY poor pitstop), then gets lifted airborne by Ricciardo who's lost an endplate, onto the top of Zhou's car, and then gets sent over to the right of the circuit by Zhou.

Verstappen and Sargeant have started lap 16 of 18 when this happens (and have a large lead over Norris and Hauger because of the events of turn 4), so because of how the game works, not much intervention could happen (i use medium session lengths). But Manz and Albon DNF, and Hauger, Norris, Doohan, Zhou and Ricciardo make a second stop because of their damages.

Hi! I'm new to the game and am wondering why in grand prix mode when I have equal performance turned on, other top drivers are still faster i.e. Leclerc and Piastri always being faster than Bortoleto and Stroll. I've been racing with Lawson only for the most part and don't know if actual driver ratings factor into the difficulty level. I'm playing at ~85 difficulty and can hold a podium place for most of the race but seem to always lose places near the end of a race even with what I imagine should be similar setups in comparison to the other cars.
