Virtanen's ascent up the ladder (i must point out that 'facts' relating to titles won in lower ladder championships by Veikko are an alternate universe to this one. Also, championships he enters compared to his age may not be perfectly accurate to how it would be irl)

Virtanen had a remarkable early career, winning karting championships at regional, national and international levels, as well as the ADAC F4 championship in 2018. Not long after he started dating Musilová in 2019, he entered the inaugural FRECA season, where he immediately got into a heated title fight with Frederik Vesti (👀) and came a close runner-up to him.

This earned him a promotion to Formula 3 in 2020, where he stayed in 2020 and 2021. Notably in 2021, he managed to join the Red Bull Driver Academy. In the 2021 season he managed to impress enough to earn graduation to F2 despite not winning the championship (we'll say he came 3rd).

He raced in F2 in 2022 and 2023, and he demonstrated similar impressive qualities in his 2023 season which impressed Red Bull enough to give him the promotion for 2024.

After a disastrous Bahrain GP, Virtanen leads FP1 by nearly a second and goes on to perfect his practice programmes.

Qualifying was looking disastrous, his first lap time saw him P19, and his second only got P18. However, after those two laps, he went back out at the very end, and was yellow in sector 1, before carving out an insane run on the rest of the lap to produce a lap good enough for the front row, alongside Verstappen and just 0.119 seconds behind him in second! No grid penalties this time, 2nd is the grid slot in Jeddah.
