Drivers Championship fight heading into Abu Dhabi - how it's panned out across the season

IT IS TIME.

The 2029 season will come to its conclusion.

A season that was originally slated to be 24 races, with Hungary returning to the calendar after a season taken off for repairs. However, a catastrophic data error meant all data for the Hungarian Grand Prix was lost and the race was then called off on lap 48 after diagnostic checks deemed the issue as irreparable in the timeframe, and the data as irreplaceable.

This meant the calendar was cut back to 23.

And across these 23 races, the three time dominant World Champion DP became pressurised by the McLaren team and by Carlos Sainz in the Aston Martin.

They enter Abu Dhabi, with just 15 points separating DP in the lead with Russell in 4th.

this is gearing to be a blazing inferno of a championship fight. And it culminates here.

They will take 15 laps around the Yas Marina Circuit to decide it all.
