Sure MotoGP games don’t have this problem (you can get stuck in Moto3 if you’re horrid) but the last 2 MotoGP games suck. F1 feels unrealistic as fuck. WRC is so buggy I can’t even be assed to start it up. IndyCar doesn’t even have a fucking game. NASCAR hasn’t had a fun game since forever (HEAT4 career mode sucks).

When braking i understeer a lot and I often have to stop the car entirely to not crash

its because the tyres are trying to slow down and turn at the same time

Lap one had an accident and Hartley DNFd.

Ericsson, Sirotkin, and Alonso pitted at the end of lap one under the safety car.

There was a massive stack up besides the accident, and several cars received some level of damage.

Hamilton had some more moments of slight contact that slowed him down a bit.

Most of the field started to pit. Sirotkin, Ericsson, and Alonso all stayed out. Bottas retired with a mechanical failure towards the end of the pit cycle.

Exiting the pit cycle, the lead pack was large with Sirotkin, Ericsson, Alonso, Raikkonen, Vettel, Verstappen, and Ricciardo with Magnussen reeling in the pack that was slowed by the cars at the front of it.

Ericsson passed Sirotkin and lead one lap. Sirotkin tumbled down the order as Alonso and Raikkonen also passed him.

Alonso took the lead from Ericsson. Sirotkin was passed by Vettel and Verstappen. Ricciardo and Sirotkin collided on the exit of turn 13. Sirotkin’s front wing hit the wall and broke. Ricciardo likely had damage as he pitted as well.

I was basically having to bully Hamilton to keep him behind. Eventually, I put him in a poor enough position that Hulkenberg overtook Hamilton, and Hamilton was unable to get back by Hulkenberg. Ocon would also suffer an engine failure and be the third and final DNF. Both cars that suffered mechanical failures were powered by Mercedes engines.

Alonso drove away from Ericsson. Ericsson was passed by Raikkonen and Vettel quite easily. Verstappen and Magnussen struggled to get around him. Verstappen would pass Ericsson.

With two laps to go, Alonso still held the lead. Raikkonen took the lead, and Vettel also overtook Alonso. Magnussen passed Ericsson, and then I passed Ericsson as well.

Raikkonen would cross the line the winner, with Vettel in second. Alonso was third on the road, but he had a five second penalty that dropped him behind Verstappen and Magnussen. Verstappen would take the final step on the podium.

Kevin Magnussen would record Haas’s best finish was 4th. Alonso would prove Mclaren could have speed, albeit on strategy, with a P5 finish.

I would come home 6th for Sauber (this driver has more history going back to 2014), and it was my debut with them. Marcus Ericsson would also come home 8th to make Sauber one of three teams to double score.

Nico Hulkenberg would bring his Renault home to 7th, after a great drive of fending off Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton would be the only Mercedes powered car to score points, with 2 points for 9th.

Romain Grosjean would bring home the final point for Haas. This means that all 6 Ferrari powered cars finished in the points.

Lance Stroll was also just behind the pack at the rear of the points. That puts him 11th, and a similarly good drive from Stoffel Vandoorne puts him 12th.

Daniel Ricciardo likely took the fastest lap, but he did not get the point for it as he finished 13th. Pierre Gasly did minor damage control to get his Toro Rosso to 14th.

Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez both suffered damage in the lap 1 accident. So, they were only able to drag their damaged cars to 15th and 16th respectively. Being in a slow car and having to make an extra pit stop to replace a front wing meant Sirotkin was the last driver to finish in 17th.

The DNFing drivers of Esteban Ocon, Valterri Bottas, and Brendan Hartley were 18th, 19th, and 20th. None of them were classified.
