ye i started playing these games a few months ago also on pc with a xbox controller and the first thing i did was going into "time trial" to get used to controlls, car and stuff

in terms of race strategy if you do training programs on practice sessiosn then the race strategy will usually be good but you can adjust it yourself to make it better or make a completely new one

also you get proposed strategy changes so you dont really have to worry about manually choosing next tire

and if you dont feel comfortable enough of adjusting these things i mentioned above yourself, just play the game with what the game gives you and start adjusting things when you get more used to the game and know it better

also try car setups for each track, i like to take them off internet and when i need to i adjust them for me but they're usually pretty good for everybody

that's what i can say so far cuz i bought my first f1 game like a month or 2 ago
