It seems like the game checks for DRS upon entry to the zone itself fairly consistently, as that's the only explanation for how I'm always losing DRS when my drivers are 1-3 tenths behind a car past the detection point, but over 1s behind going into the zone proper

i had sick vietnam gp in career. i started from p2 and bottas from p1. my teammate bottas spun in lap two and was last. i think he changed front wing. i got wing damage and had to pit for new like lap6 then i was 19th. i got to like 14th because i had only 1 stop and it was for front wing. then it started raining so i pitted for inters before leaders and gained few positions. safety car came out when it still rained. renault in front of me got failure while safety car, so i gained position. the other renault behind me also got failure so that brought my rival verstappen also closer to me. few laps later safety car came in and we were racing again. rain also stopped and i just pitted before leaders and they gone one more lap with inters. my pitstop was slow because of double stack. everyone else went for soft but i went for mediums(el plan). first i struggled with pace because i had to defend from verstappen. then soft users started to lose time and i got past kvyat. i pushed so hard for p4 and got past sainz. albon was in p3 but i got him also because of some kind of engine problem(he still finished). race ended up with bottas p1 and me p3.
