That was then the race result in the end.

And that's now the championship standings.

That was one of the craziest races I've ever driven.

9 DNFs, 3 DSQs, just unbelievable

I couldn't believe my eyes as I saw on the minimap everyone staying in turn 3.

Austria just never disappoints.

For myself the race was very tough.

On lap 4 already Mark told me there seems to be an issue, the sentence you never want to hear.

And it was an engine issue.

It took until lap 38 that the issue got fixed.

The spin wasn't really helpful either.

12th is still the 3rd best result of the season, but I'm obviously not happy with finishing 12th in a race only 10 cars finished.

It was really a missed opportunity to make big points.

But who amazingly took this opportunity is no one else than Nicholas Latifi.

Finishing 8th and taking 4 points.

The 1st points he ever scored.

And now he's ahead of me in the championship as well as Williams in the constructors.

And with Austria finished it's time for the mid-season contract period.

Lundgaard had done really well in Bahrain, but then he had really tough times.

With 3 DNFs, 2 for engine failures and another 1 in Canada being involved in a lap 1 pile-up.

But of course I'll still stick with him for the rest of the season.

So I contacted him for a new contract.

And he declined.

His condition was being 10th in the performance ranking, we are 11th and last, fallen behind Williams just ahead of Austria.

So I even had to sign a new teammate.

Part of our Alpine partnership is signing Alpine academy drivers.

So my new teammate for the 2nd half of the 1st season is Oscar Piastri.
