Y’know, I’d be stoked to see hillclimb cars such as that compete against other monstrous hillclimb cars in either a sprint race or time attack events on a proper race track such as Mugello or Spa to see what they can really do, considering how much power and downforce they produce with those engines and aerodynamics

They are meant for this track

Their aero is too much and their engines would be too powerful that either they would blow up because they are producing too much power or would bottom out from producing too much downforce

They would need some serious mods to be some track viable cars

Some of those cars produce 1000hp+ at almost 3000m above sea level

I guess that makes sense. Oh well. At least there are still cars used in European hillclimb racing to think about such as that monster VW Golf, the Osella PA30, The Norma M20, and much more

A car that would produce 1000hp at sea level would only produce around 715hp at starting line and 570ish hp at peak

Obviously it would be tuned to not loose so much and have an average of probably 650-700hp without major engine changes, just a good tune, but still

They usually tune them to peak preform between 10k-12k feet as far as I’m aware

Because of course, the higher the altitude, the less air there is, causing the engine to lose power if I’m not mistaken
