I'm twenty, still in college, and I've been making plans to pull off a last-ditch effort to fulfill a childhood dream.
I have money on-hand, but no more than twenty-thousand. I've been fortunate enough to have my education covered by scholarship, so I've tossed around the idea of putting it into a kart, or a budget racer in a lower SCCA class.
Of course, that's the gamble I wanted to mention.
You should never put your eggs all in one basket, but if I don't try now, I probably won't ever be able to.
This is probably the situation you're going to be in, especially in high-school.
You won't have as much free-time until you've graduated, but still, that's six years more than I have.
Make good use of those six years.
It's too stressful if you wait as long as I did.

I think the most important thing to focus on is getting someplace, rather than somewhere, if that makes sense.
I'd love to get into IMSA, but realistically, that probably won't happen.
If I can at least race in one SCCA race, I think I'll be happy.
The fact that you at least tried is something to be proud of for life.

I think I have a new plan, start karting just for fun, then if im good at it try formula vee/ford/4, if I'm good at that I'll go higher and higher and who knows I might make it to f1! But I am not going to feel pressured to be an f1 driver, I'll do it for fun! See if I'm good enough but also not going all in and dealing with a huge amount of stress of not making it. This is the one league I wish we had in the United States. If I'm not mistaken, it's the most affordable car league in operation.
It might not be an open-wheel league, but it's something.

In modern day Nascar most drivers need multiple primary sponsors to run the whole season, and since Fastenal in this case only sponsors around half the races its awkward to see them use two of them in the same race by displaying it on both racecars on the team. However, people have made memes about it saying how this practice isn't as uncommon as he thought it was.
