Look at this Toyota Supremacy

YOOOOO LITHUANIAN REPRESENTATION IN TOP LEVEL MOTORSPORT
🇱🇹
@solar narwhal pssst I got another Baltic driver you can support
I regretted my decision to go there after 1 milisecond
owo
They're horrible true
well there was meant to be an f1 car and a fe car but mercedes said no
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HANSEN
HANSEN HANSEN HANSEN
i decided to add a bit of non f1 in the comments :kekw:
Two rcr cars crash so far in the next gen
:newspaper: | Castroneves models for his fourth Borg-Warner effigy
:newspaper: | O'Ward sees two-year window to make F1 switch happen
don’t see why o’ward should even consider switching
i mean, he’s good, but he’d have a much more successful future in indycar
Maybe it's because he wants to race all over the world rather than only in North America
nah he was genuinely excited about the cars after trying them
Makes sense too
i mean ricciardo could leave f1 after 2-3 more years
he's 32
but you never know if he will stay in mclaren after next season when his contract ends
:newspaper: | Super Formula drivers call for clearer penalty guidelines
how serious was the test tho
Lance Stroll wasn't the only one to accidentally crash into his pit crew https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r7gu-7Ir6I
Shane Van Gisbergen slips on the wet concrete and takes out team mate and cameraman

mmm
Why are people saying rip gen 6 the whole time first people were shitting on it now everyone's upset
I can't speak for people bud but I never shat on the gen 6
I loved gen 6, I'm optimistic for gen 7
As EmpLemon said in his Talladega video,
"While unpopular in its time, many fans today look back on the era fondly"
Which sums up NASCAR fans, better than anything I've ever seen before
They fucking hate the way things are
And i dont see why people cry about stages theyre fine to me
And they fucking hate change
Playoffs are bullshit though
I love the playoffs
I dont like it
I like stage racing sometimes, sometimes not
I would love them to go back to f1 style
With a straight face tell me this year would've been better if Larson had won by June
Yeah but my issue is with the playoffs how can somebody get their first career win and win the championship at the same time
I just try and ride with NASCAR, it's just easy going, it's good fun, it's a sport of second chances
Yeah it was fucking amazing!
Yep
Like that is why I love the playoffs
But i dont think playoffs belong in motorsport but you do you friend
I mean the guy got his FIRST CAREER WIN
and the CHAMPIONSHIP
at the same time!
how is that not amazing!
I mean yeah you dont see that shit in f1 haha
Yeah because it's not NASCAR
I think they belong in NASCAR, I don't care about if they belong in "motorsports"
In f1 i kinda get bored and not pay attention after the first 5 laps
And then in the last laps it might get interesting again
This season was sick though
NASCAR, you're never out of it
Yeah, people just shit on nascar but have never watched a race or have watched a race but did not pay attention
You have teenagers like Ty Gibbs winning their debuts right through to Todd Bodine coming back at 58 years old and running in the Truck Series
Ty gibbs is class
You can crash on lap 1, or get a penalty, or whatever, and come back and win the race
You can go down two laps, and still be in with a shot to win
Yep that's why i like nascar
You can get fired for saying the N word and come back and win a championship the very next year
what
When black lives matter became a big topic kyle had to drop the n word
I'm talking about Larson
Yeah remember how bubba went viral and everything
And kyle earlier had said the n word
Yeah, no those were "unrelated" issues
I just think its funny lol
Larson was fired in April
Yeah true blm came way later but still
George Floyd was killed in May
I know
But I wasn't talking about Bubba at all
And Larson and Bubba were never friends afaik
I know i was the one who brought it up
Alright lol
It hurt to see texas's attendance this season though
I don't care about attendance
It will get better in 2022 anyway
I live an ocean away and there's a pandemic on
I take zero notice of fan numbers lmao
You wreck at the Southern 500, you can still come back at Richmond or Bristol and win
You have a bad day at Vegas, don't worry, Talladega and the ROVAL are anyone's game
Look, they first have a race in the an la stadium which is really hyped up right after the superbowl. Then the excitement around gen 7 also is a big factor and overall the new broadcasting nascar will have in 2022
So its gonna have big numbers in 2022 is all im saying
Truex didn't score points in the first five stages of the Round of 8
But he put on the drive of his life and made it to the championship 4, and put on a show, and nearly won the whole thing
Which year did that happen
... this one
You asked why I like the playoffs, I'm just answering that
Yeah i know i get that but i couldnt remember all of that had happened this season
I wouldn't be surprised
I mean the 500 will be huge numbers if it doesn't get rained out
Yep
but the racing might be dogshit
I think it won't but we'll see
Wdym by write off
I mean look at 2013
They'll be shit
It's basically why I just try and avoid like, engaging with NASCAR fans, and numbers, and all of their doom and gloom
there's too many people out here salty that it's not EXACTLY like it was when they were 12
Which country are you from
like, i'm having fun, i don't care what they think lmao, can't change their mind anyway
the UK
Oh sick
You already know where im from i think so yeah
Ive been to the uk multiple times
Are you northern or southern?
Neither
I don't think that'd be most people's second guess, but yeah, actually

Lynn lands United Autosports LMP2 drive for WEC return
The 28-year-old Briton will partner Oliver Jarvis and teenage American Josh Pierson in a full season entry, after making his debut with the team at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours.
Lynn joined Aston Martin Racing in the WEC's GTE Pro class for the 2018/19 'superseason' and won Le Mans in 2020 with Maxime Martin and Harry Tincknell before the programme came to an end following the conclusion of the ...Keep reading
Third Toyota at Le Mans for Ogier "an option" for 2023

LMP2 getting nerfed
Sad to see but wasn't a surprise
Dude this scheme was so mean
An exotic car dealership a couple towns over actually has this car
Livery and all
ayyyy, that's really nice
Not a City Chevrolet dealer? Lmao
I wish lmao
Jeff Gordon's later liveries though looked a bit weird to me
I like his throwback livery that he did in 2015 though
though that livery also kinda doesn't really work on the Gen 6 car
I forgot how much I dislike that car shape
yeah the late Gen 4 cars started looking really weird at the front
the 1994-2003 Gen 4 cars though were perfection in this regard
though the 1994 cars still looked a lot like the previous gen
Ye these are better
I still think these are absolutely gorgeous body shapes
agreed tbh
the COT though I don't really hate, but also it looks kinda weird, idk why
Yeah I hate the gen 4s
They look like a shovel
I mean what really gets me is the COT was legitimately supposed to look like a street car
And sure compared to those twisted shovels maybe but come on
Also I found the name "Monte Carlo" for that car, also the road car itself, very weird
It's like the last thing it reminds me of
But then they really started nailing it with the Gen 6
yup
me too
it was
I’m sure gen 7 will be too in its own ways
"Hurr Durr back in my day NASCAR's actually resembled road cars"
"Sir your 30"
idk how I'll get used to the new number positioning though
I still hate it, it makes them look way too clean in a way
Lmao yeah the same exact guy will complain about the lack of stock in stock car racing but want gen 4 back
gonna miss the little sponsor logos placed beside the race number on the sides of the cars
made them look more "stock" in a way
i love the wing
i remember that one, it looked so aggressive in the right lighting
Man I gotta buy some NASCAR diecasts
I gotta stop buying nascar diecasts I have too many of them

look amazing
and the new generation of Supercars also look like legitimate GT4s, love to see it

Now it's a ghost town
Mostly, only a bit of amateur racing left
Yeah
A shame
Colorado doesn't have many motorsport destinations
Outside of the Hillclimb
And it was a nice track for IndyCar and NASCAR and stuff
Yeah
Oh my
But why Hydrogen
Bill France Sr. never raced in a NASCAR sanctioned race or owned a team which ran in NASCAR sanctioned races. Bernie was CEO of FOCA, which was not a sanctioning body.
Put frankly, even if they did, how does that make it better?
My mistake, Bill France owned the #53 Pepsi Ford entered into the 1969 Talladega 500, driven by Tiny Lund.
Which completed 152 of 188 laps, finished 9th, and earned him $1,675 of his own money, equivalent to $12,685 today.
Also if Penske is a team owner it will prevent a rift between indycar and the teams
So no funny splits
You wanna know what was particularly notable about the 1969 Talladega 500, and why it’s the only race Bill France ever fielded a car in?
Drivers thought it was too dangerous right
It’s “the worst race ever”.
Didnt they just get cars from lower series to race lmao
The first ever race at Talladega, the one where only three Grand National (Cup) cars took part, only two of which were competitive, and the official winner was probably wrong.
Yes they did, and evidently, Bill France had to buy one of those out to even get them to race
Good ole 60’s nascar
Yes
they are barely gonan need 3rd there lool
Well my point is is that IndyCar isn't like say if Toto was the boss of the FIA rn, he has a responsibility to protect the sport because of the image of himself and his team rather than winning all the time. Plus, Penske knows what backlash for domination in that position is like with CART in 1991
Basically he's Roger... He;s one of the few geezers who'd be trusted enough to be as impartial as one could in his position
Random fun fact of the day
Indianapolis sister cities
Taipei, Taiwan (1978)
Cologne, Germany (1988)
Monza, Italy (1994)
Piran, Slovenia (2001)
Hangzhou, China (2008)
Campinas, Brazil (2009)
Northampton Shire County, UK (2009)
Hyderabad, India (2010)
Onitsha, Nigeria (2017)
In Monza is... Monza, and in Northamptonshire County there's Silverstone
uh
well, then i've got time to complain about your fun fact
Northampton Shire County
secondly, how is a county a sister city
also, Silverstone is in two counties
the county border slices right through it
On point one
I don't fucking know
Indianapolis lists then as a sister city on their website
And for part two
It counts ok
Point one was it's Northamptonshire
But yeah, I'm fully blaming the Americans for everything else dw
Cuz like I'd understand Northampton
Because Indianapolis Motor Speedway literally isn't in Indianapolis

I already feel very sorry for whoever at Northamptonshire County Council had to explain all this

no
just false but ok

My closest city are twinned with Preston of all places

And a random place in Germany and Turkey
Mayor Ballard established criteria that a city must meet to be considered a viable partner for
Indianapolis. These included:
- A metro population over 1 million inhabitants
- An international airport with ample international destinations served
- A prosperous city with economic vitality in multiple industries
- An education and cultural infrastructure able to foster exchanges with Indianapolis institutions
- No sister city relationships with U.S. cities that are within 250 miles of Indianapolis
- No numerous (Sister City) relationships within the U.S.
- not a metro area, population in 2018; 747,622
Tho could be worse
You could be Almere
Be partnered with Milton Keynes
- Neither Luton, or East Midlands, are in Northamptonshire
Tho, makes sense as both are pretty new cities
- not a city at all, and like, in general, what?
Jesus mcfucking christ Amsterdam is partnered with half the fucking world
- I guess?? They've probably got a university or some bullshit
växjö
- Well of course they don't have any sister city relationships, they aren't a fucking city
How bad is Vaxjo
- see above
i actually dont know anything about växjö
It failed on, all but one counts, it just has half of Silverstone in it, so they twinned with it
but i dont like their name
fucking yanks
of course Northamptonshire went along with it, I don't blame them at all

this uh got me thinking
So, Tiny Lund drove the #53 Ford for Bill France in the Talladega 500
And the consensus is that the field was filled with Grand Touring cars, who had run their 400 mile race the day before
The race was mostly a multi class race esentially
The, no joke, Bama 400
But, Tiny Lund drove the #16 1969 Mercury Cougar in the Bama 400
There was no #53 car in the Bama 400
So, it can't have been that any car that raced in the Bama 400 was also eligible for the Talladega 500
I mean considering the thing about how Bill France esentially begged people that were doing busch series to do the main race to get at least a handful of cars in
since about 20 cars withdrew due to tires gernading themselves
He could probably just got one that was reserved somewhere and asked Tiny to do the rac
Yeah, I was looking into it, because it's the only time Bill France was listed as a car owner on racing-reference
So I was hoping to find a story about him buying a car or something
here's an alleged story from a random wikia
In 1969, he continued to toil in the Grand American division and ran one Grand National race, guesting for Bill France, Sr. himself who had placed himself on the entry list in the inaugural Talladega 500 as an abortive attempt to get an "in" with Richard Petty's new drivers' association on the eve of their boycott over tire safety protests; Lund drove into the lead but his clutch packed in and he was classified ninth.
He as in Tiny Lund
The #16, 1969 Mercury Cougar, was run in the 500, with Don Schisler as driver
is that from stockcarracing wikia?
that site's very very hit or miss with accuracy
The Slapshoes video?
yes
yeah it's no use, he doesn't even name the series the cars came from lol
If I'm reading that right, Bill France entered the race to try and join the PDA?
It appears so? Maybe to try and get influence for drivers to race for the track he purposely build it? I'm not sure
It is a really flawed idea
If it's true, I guess he was probably saying "see, it is safe, I'll even drive it with you to prove it"
which, when they all left anyway... he didn't do
also worth pointing out that, while he survived his races there in 1969, Talladega's where Tiny Lund died, in a crash.
Yeah 6 years later in a wreck which I think he got hit by someone
I think as much praise dega has had over the last few years, it’s beginnings have been less than disreable
It’s also the place of the infamous L.W Wright case
this is a quote from Bill France
the #53 started 25th.
If it were a cup car, which it wasn't, it would've started 4th at worst
and if it were a new entry, surely it should've started last
Probably
Tiny Lund finished 23rd in the Bama 400, so I guess it was conveniently based on driver, not car...
Yeah, the 16 started 42nd, so basically the back
George 1 question, since when have you been a nascar fan?
Cause you are a big nascar enthusiast i see lol
Damn so very recent?
Not too bad
Ive became a nascar fan at the end of 2019
I’ve started watching since roughly 2012 ish
Ive made a good amount of people nascar fans lol
I guess I shouldn't be surprised that in 1969, at "the worst race ever", there was a potential mild scoring error, concerning a car owned by the literal boss of NASCAR
The entire winner is disputed from that race
They had three cars to keep track of, and they didn't even manage that
Didn’t Tony George was a de facto team owner in some way for a team in IRL in 2000s
Obviously not as bad as the case with the seat regarding Bill France
They gotta sell this place out though
in my searching, I also found, well, something very interesting
Nascar has raced in japan right?
They did a few off seasons races in suzuka and Motegi
the firt one
Not awful, but it was an experiment to say the least
That its already that much grey is a good sign
totally not emailing a track right now
Wow
Daytona 500 is already sold out
I mean
It honestly just doesn't matter though
thats the Daytona 500
I really hope they can sell this place out cause it would look sick, with a full stadium
Like, what impact does any of this have on the sport?
Nothing, all i'm saying that it would look cool.
They sell out LA, they race in LA again, sure, but not if it's wank despite selling out
Yk, like Daytona could be entirely shit, the 500 selling out is a sign of hype
But that hype can be wiped out with one bad race
I hope the Coliseum works out
All i know is that the Coliseum will look so cool
Because honestly racing in (American) football stadiums is... quite epic, reminds me of The Madhouse
Some people were like "Why dont they go to the Madhouse instead of the Coliseum" and i was like

it's just seating

Theyre both big mate
Well Coliseum in capacity, SoFi in sheer scale of the structure
the coliseum is not big
I wonder what the coliseum guys were thinking when nascar told them hey we wanna race in your stadium
Its not a big stadium till you look at the capacity number lol
Simple
yeah i meant the proper stadium
Like 80k people can sit at the coliseum

Yep
Massive stadiums being barely filled is always not nice to see, kinda why im happy MLS teams are moving to smaller stadiums instead of playing in gigantic NFL stadiums

One of NASCARs most iconic sponsors
I wasnt a big fan of them in particular but they were really iconic
It's barely been a week and he's already doing shit in the motorsport world what a hero
Well its just answering a interview but
At least it shows he does give at least a bit about WRC and hopefully wont... let it continue to die
They need it to be more accessible because in a lot of countries there’s no way to watch it without paying for the wrc thing
Some thoughts:
—Kyle Busch current deal runs thru at least 2023 so no issue as far as his status.
—Team apparently was notified last summer and has been working on sponsors, all pitching Kyle.
—Good opportunity for Kyle to find a sponsor who wants to do Indy 500 as well. https://t.co/C3aV6r34v7
Indy 500 for Kyle lmao?

@foggy fulcrum thoughts on this change on configurations
550 wouldn't've raced well
they tested it
it failed, so they scheduled a new test, and tried 670
and it worked
Hey is Super Sebring returning next year?
Last I heard it was but not much news since
Yea
they are gonna be on the same weekend yes
i dont see why not to smash them into one big one
wait fuck
the classes cant be mixed yet
23 onwards it could be possible

I think this is the best looking next gen car I’ve seen so far
man 😭
Dude even the Xfinity Camry was hot
I meant it when I said make Interstate the primary sponsor... just look at this
that looks really good
Why does this exist
it's gonna be used in the Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum next year, which will be like a pre-season race
Is there gonna be a full 40 cars 💀
Alright that actually sounds cool
How many laps is it going to be maybe 1000
true
Indonesia is in gt world like in 2021 world super bike and it's in my country
Oh

Idk but its the clash
Congrats @lethal yacht, you're now on lap 5
Either its gonna be a complete utter wreckfest or a literal snoozefest
I wouldn't expect much of it.
It's most definitely one of those races that only really exist for a cash return. Spectacle over sport, and so forth.
Given how low NASCAR sunk since its prime, it might be part of their efforts to recapture massive audiences, especially post-COVID.

Honestly it’s really good for teams as well
Like, they won’t have to worry about making and testing three different specs of engines
They’re running the same package in LA as in Michigan, at Darlington and at COTA
The only places that it’s different are Daytona and Talladega, and potentially Atlanta, so at most 6 races
longshot but i'd love to see him run a race again in nascar
even longer shot: carl edwards
though i was going to go to the clash, i'm going to the daytona 500 and auto club instead
Carl Edwards just like, disappeared
"I'm done" out of nowhere, and just that was that
he reappeared for an interview, said he'd consider racing if they add back the horsepower, and then disappeared
well, considering this is still a reduction
i mean nascar really played a blinder here
550 + 750
550 + 670
670 + 670
atlanta's repave scares me though
we still lost 70 horses at short tracks, darlington, dover, phoenix, etc and road courses
like i thought we were supposed to improve safety
this seems like it's a good way to end up having someone hurt
reduce the horsepower to 410, sure, but that doesn't change the fact that there's no wall separating pit road and the track
typically at high speed tracks, either they have that or a deep enough infield to where that becomes impossible to hit
atlanta has neither

truex was also like 🤏 this close to taking the cup
the shorter inters like phoenix
inter whats
he dominated the short tracks and the 1 miles
i was gonna say short tracks but that would be accurate
the 750 package tracks
since he won his first ever short track race
Their doing 670 with 4 inch spoiler for 2022
he's won 3 out of 5 races at Martinsville, and 3 out of 5 races at Richmond
The only short track he hasn't won at is Bristol
who won the night race
Larson
understandable
Not counting his Busch win in 2004, and his truck win on the dirt this year lmao
That was the race where Harvick cut Elliot's tyre
and so Elliot held up Harvick and Larson got past for the win
wasn't he faring well in the cup dirt race
He was, but it didn't work out
unfortunate
Logano won that
yeah i remember
I think it was his only win this year
wasn't a good year from him at all tbh
I think only Blaney won more than one race for Penske this year, and he won three?
blaney found some good form towards the end
Atlanta, Michigan and Dega?
yeah
for the record, Truex is my favourite driver
Blaney is second
They won 4 and 3 races each it was great
Fun fact, every single full time Toyota cup series driver went to victory lane this year, and their combined total is exactly the same as Larson's alone
p sure toyota still has less wins than dodge though
i think the toyotas will be mad quick next year
and 23xi should have a better performance
Dodge have 215 Cup wins, Kyle Busch has 55 Cup wins in Toyotas alone
And that's in the 15 seasons they've competed in
Not to mention, two championships for Busch, and one for Truex
SHR should also be good
All but four of Kyle Busch's wins were in Toyotas, and all but two for Martin Truex, all but three for Denny Hamlin
All, easily hall of fame drivers
Kyle Busch has the most wins of anyone in NASCAR, ever
Truex has two Busch championships, a Cup championship, a Southern 500 win, two Coke 600 wins, including leading more miles than anyone in NASCAR history in one race
and Denny has what, three Daytona 500 victories, and three Southern 500 wins, and 46 cup series wins, which puts him tied 17th all time
