Duval has "unfinished job" with Peugeot at Le Mans
The Frenchman said he wants to add a second Le Mans victory to his 2013 triumph with Audi after missing out at the French enduro on his two outings driving a works-backed Oreca-run 908 HDi LMP1 coupe in 2010 and '11.
"I feel I have an unfinished job with Peugeot," Duval said on the launch of Peugeot's driver line-up for its two-car team of Le Mans Hypercars on Monday.

Seeing S5000 with the sound of rumbling Coyote V8's from Mustangs is so weird as hell, never in my life I had heard a Formula car with the sound of Muscle car
Ayo that's why I love it, it's not really been a thing since either the early-mid 80's Stock Block Indycars, or the original F5000 cars
That's another thing I love of the Festival of Speed: seeing 40+ years old cars being driven fast on that tight hillclimb course. And this was the case of a Lola T400 F5000 car from 1975, chassis HU7. The car, that only weighs 665 kg (1,466 lb), is powered by a Chevrolet 5.0-litre V8 engine paired with a 5-speed Hewland DG300 manual gearbox. Hea...

they are really trying to hype this up
Wait, Mir opted to run #1 this year?
as the tweets say it will be announced tomorrow
i have to wonder if Mir will try a Jorge style 1 from 2011
which probably explains all the hype around it because it woul be a bit weird to have all this just for it to be 36
Did VR ever run 1 when he became champion?
Mir doing a Jorge style 1 is gonna wack, wonder how he'll implement the M instead
yeh it doesn't really work
but something like that
would keep a small part of the branding element
if he tries though
Surprised MM didn't even tried running 1 too
Really surprised a lot of champions didn't opted for 1 in the past
Ham only used 1 once in Abu Dhabi 2018
and seeing as motorcycle racing has used rider prefrenced numbers since like the start or close to it since the moto gp era there has been some cases of people sticking with their personal numbers
Sheene i think kept his no7 in 77 i think

i was fully expecting them to go back to the old black colours
:newspaper: | MP Motorsport completes FIA F3 roster
black wasnt their colour
they're traditionally blue
black had been their colour up until the recent alingment with KTM btw
previous to that blue had been their main colour in premier class like 4 times
2001, 2002, 2003 and 2008
where did i say traditional colour?
i did
responds to my message
i didn't say anywhere that black was their traditional colour but it has been one they have adopted
ok
this was one of the possibilites
yeah i madethat
just based on the new logo
my second attempt
Was really expecting them to use Alpha Tauri colors tbh, since they also had Red Bull cola colors like STR before
well
you havent been reading the news
red bull have been reportedly leaving tech3 since august
yeah they've focused efforts onto the main ktm team and honda now
that was due to monster sponsorship ig
2020 MotoGP world champion @JoanMirOfficial will be boring and stick with 36 in 2021
I can't believe Suzuki tried hyping this up lmao
like realistcally i can see why
marketing
they should have hyped if they knew he would have gone with 1
It's official! MotoGP's Numero Uno is cursed
lol
out of anyone i would expect Joan to use it
maybe Jack as well if he won it
but apart from that i think everyone else would be keen to keep their branding
Jack would i think
ducati would push for it as well
cuz jack is like the forever rebel
tru
i hope Jack clicks with the Ducati properly this year
my 3 contenders for next year have been Mir, Miller and Morbidelli
all depends on the condition of Marc even if he gets to race
true
Rins
maybe Zarco too
and the Yamaha factory if they don
Rins is a bottler
i expect more mistakes and crashes
sure
but he's not gonna have his shoulder injury to contend with
so dat's a thing
that is true
i certainly see those 3 as the more consistent riders though
providing of course marc doesn't race and even if he does he is not in his best form for a while
yeah i wouldn't be suprised
Pol at Honda is the season's dark horse
KTM might have built this rumoured super engine that every other team has been wary of
nah they have the same engine freeze
send link
oop
they've probably got a better deal out of that just having that
aprilia have concessions so there's that
yeah i think so
ofc
altho KTM's issues last season weren't power related
Pol seems like a safe bet for a few wins and podiums
more like inconsistency
yep. I just he can break his victory duck
i don't think it will go pear shaped like how Jorge's time went
tbf KTM were pretty consistent last season
i think Pol highlighted something in the Europe interview that was a problem
i can't remember what he said though
he is defo a big loss to KTM
(poor Lorenzo. I just wished either of 2 things happened in the past: he wasn't fired after Le Mans 2018 or he didn't have the back breaking crash in Assen)
they were decent but remember last year had tons of double headers
on those, they sort of made a comeback after getting data and quacking their ducks inna row
in the 2nd weekend
but on the 1st race they nowhere
eg Misano 1 & Aragon 1
anyone betting on Rossi to get a victory shot?
hope Yamaha have fixed their engine troubles
i am not
(they can't)
and hope Aprilia fucking exist properly
Rossi is pretty past it
not happening
shame
covid screwed them pretty bad
but ffs
Rossi running the same package as factory Yamaha while Franky will run another frankenbike
Piaggio invest some cash into the operation
more like PLEASE TREAT YOUR RIDERS WITH RESPECT
Aprilia were looking really good in the tests
its gud he's running it. issue is he will have a 2 yr old engine spec
proved to be an awful season
reliability has been their bitch as well as lack of debelopment time
and the iannone fiasco
replacing smith was a bad decision even if it meant savadori debut (i rate him highly)
its still a mess
rumours say Smith has quit Aprilia
the long list of candidates they had for 2021 shows how much of a mess was going on
cuz the gave Savadori the 2nd ride
nearly everyone of them rejecting
he was added to the motogp site a few days ago
those rumours are false
gpone spewing smth then
aprilia made a press release stating that the decision of the second rider will be decided after the pre season tests
and it will be between smith and savadori
Savadori is only on the entry list atm
lorenzo rejected them, and so did bezzechi, davies and roberts
because they're ordered to have a name
UPDATE: Bradley Smith's manager Bob Moore has told Crash.net they are still in discussions with Aprilia...An Instagram post featuring a Yamaha suggests Bradley Smith has split from Aprilia and is thus no longer in contention for the factory's remaining MotoGP race seat or a test riding role. After six seasons in MotoGP with Tech3 Yamaha (two podi...
so there's this
i would do the same as all those candidates though
Jorge taking up that offer would have been a disaster
i am more interested in the update given there
sour grapes from smith
if the manager is still negotiating then he's still an aprilia rider
as they said on the press release
and as shown recently on motogp.com
lol aprilia would have been bled dry trying to pay jorge
they were willing to
but jorge declined their offer
and decided to stay retired
as he should be
i mean Jorge could have taken up a test rider role. Like Dani Pedrosa has
and that could have done wonders for Aprilia
that was not the deal though
also there is no space for that anywhere
honda have bradl
yamaha crutchlow having replaced Jorge
(yamaha did him dirty)
he did yamaha dirty
ik dat
gained weight, refused to test
Suzuki have Guintoli
but then again he wasn't race fit for a while
yeah Jorge had odd things to say about Yamaha hiring Cal
he was injured, not fat
kind of disrespectful
just Jorge stuff
he then became injured and fat
he has a WC's ego
its a shame what has happened
yeah jorges ego bigger than his own balls
after wot happened in 2019 with both Ducati & Honda
had he stayed humble at ducati he wouldve been WC again and retired with them
but no
he had to call puig didnt he
the absolute idiot puig
dat place i will defend Jorge
the honda move strikes to me as so odd
it wasn't Lorenzo
it was Claudio Dominicalli
they didn't offer Lorenzo a contract for the next season
at all
claudio wanted him out, puig wanted pedrosa out
agreed
end result: pain
maybe joy??
only pain
cuz Pedrosa is the reason we got KTM with wings in 2020
yeah Puig is an absolute cunt
damn dissing kallio like that
a bit yes
he's had shitty things to say before
yeah i agree pedro is ktm's key
on Hayden and also Pedrosa who was literally his apprentice
Wonder where Lorenzo will land a ride if he ever returns for next year
Jorge is not going anywhere
but Kallio & Pol had too similar a riding style. they just made it a Honda copy and then they hit a brickwall when Pol got injured early 2019 and Zarco had his dramas
he's out of shape, chronically injured and just out of the loop
you can forget about that era of Jorge, Pedrosa, Stoner and Rossi
it is basically over
he's moved on to reality tv in spain
SRT arrived in 2019 no?
yes
cuz i remember him being linked to them too
ah k
exactly
would Zarco did spiral into Mr.Negativity himself
never have ktm dropped factory rider midseason in moto3 (125) or moto2 (250)
Zarco i think needed time
ever since zarco left his old manager he's been wonderful
i'm pretty sure the drop was his decision right
cuz him x 2020 KTM RC16
Zarco decided to leave at 2019 season end
his manager declined a factory HRC deal
i don't remember the source
how stupid can you be
he didnt want to be at avintia until ducati convinced him to
thats the story
avintia were nowhere with simeon and rabat
The new Williams kit looks like a football kit
i am referencing the mid-season saga pre-firing by ktm
wrong channel
nah Johann i'm sure wanted out of his contract
he did
how?
at 2019 end
and in a drivetribe article
#formula-1
and in plenty
also KTM i'm sure would have not been willing to drop him seeing as he had a year left
Zarco on a factory Honda
I wonder what sort of outcome dat might have been
He would be signed instead of Alex
true. baffles me a bit they didn't try offering him a deal
who would be signed to LCR from the get go
what he has ended up with is just as good though
one rung short of where he needs to be
imo
I really don't think that Pol is a better replacement for Alex tbh
if he is challenging for podiums and points on a year old bike who knows what he can do with a factory bike
like miller has proved it in the last two seasons
towards the end
Miller, Pecco, Zarco, Martin, Marini, Bastianini
true
of each
like. thats a stellar lineup
the Avintia team this season though is so weird
why
and it's their last/2nd last yr
the split liveries
you know Pecco at the Factory Ducati tam just boggles my mind
with VR46 integration for Marini
its not the first time a motogp team have had split liveries
from what i saw last season it is not good enough
he's good but not inconsistent
Isn't Avintia gonna be partnering SRVR46 this year?
they had dovi and jorge though man
technically, Sky VR46 are sponsors of Marini's bike, and Avintia are sponsors of Bastianini's bike
that was a great team
only for Marini
Both bikes are Esponsorama bikes
damnn claudio
It's a genius move that is also done by LCR
who have two different title sponsors for each bike and thus also different liveries
VR46 are more than sponsor tho. their staff & Pablo Nieto have a hand in running the team
yes and that's legal
Esponsorama is expected to leave for 2022
that could be part of the sponsorship contract
ofc i never claimed illegality lol
the team & their parts go to VR46 me thinks
dunno wot manufacturer VR46 pursues tho
it seems like the most possible situation
just like Nakagami's garage is different from Marquez's despite being the same team
of course we are getting a split between gresini and aprilia as well
who goes where
Gresini goes Suzuki
aprilia finally coming back as a proper factory team outfit
Petronas stay at Yamaha
2004 the last time
i heard dat
same
VR46?
VR46 stay Ducati
hmm
LCR obviously stay Honda
i was actually confused by that Gresini article at first
aprillia no satellites then
same
Yeah, no satellites for Aprilia (for now)
but yeah it would probably make sense to find another outfit
and even if they can't i wouldn't expect aprilia to last with them for long anyway
but yeah
as you have said
Bezzo declined Aprilia, if he graduates to VR46 MotoGP next year he will be fuming to have them get Aprilia bikes
i mean Gresini have gotten their reputation ragged through the mud after their longass time with aprilia
true
championship contenders all the way back to now being at the back
worried about gresini as a whole, fausto is hospitalised
it has been a disaster
who's managing the team this year if he's not cleared
the days of sete are long past
considering Aprilia can't run 2 full spec bikes, them having satellites would be a downright mess
the team i mean also Moto3, Moto2, MotoE
Aprilia in MotoGP have always been a mess unfortunately
would the Gresini team be running two bikes or just one?
I hope they have some success as a factory team but
Fausto is the big boss but his sons or other staff must be in place
in what context?
well
Gresini have always been a 2-bike effort
under suzuki
true
that is true
so I'd assume the same at Suzuki
1 bike efforts won't happen
yeah, Dorna don't like that
Dorna won't allow it anymore
who could they field
they want structure
I heard something about Leopard
DIggiantonio
i'm guessing it would could from those who are doing well in moto 2 and moto 3
But its been a long while since then
oh
yeah they're players too
Diggia is a good shout, he needs a good year this season
considering 2 slots are empty
Navarro maybe?
Canet is another
u could drag in Roberts too
Navarro very crashy
you can clearly see
Sam Lowes for a longshot?
i mean Suzuki won't approve
they want young riders
but one can dream
is Lorenzo Dalla Porta part of any of the current moto gp outfits?
i need to really keep more of any eye on the other categories
some riders just dont fit big bikes
haven't for a while
nope
he's with Italtrans
he was part of VR46 Academy
yeah that is what i was getting at tbf
Albert Arenas another longshot
but i havent seen him there
how about Ai Ogura
rookie this year
yeh true
jake had a season of nightmares

Haven’t seen his other cars anyway i think

Forsythe/Green ran that livery from 1994-1997 and then again in 2000-2004
I don’t think it’s quite as nice without villenueve’s gorgeous helmet poking out the top
Oooo that’s a cool chassis shape, reminds me of a mantis or something bug-like
Might be national bias but i reaaallyyyy dig felix’s 2020 car
Oh yeah the new Indy livery templates for this year are pretty cash money
Hinche's for example
I actually prefer the older versions of both
The red on the napa is too much, doesn’t fit at all with the rest of the colours
Better than the pink design from last year, the grey is still kinda meh tho
I wish they went mad and made it all pink
What makes me proper happy is Will Power's running the Black 5G Ponsk all season
Oh yeah i saw that too, proper mean with the red and black
I really wish that type of thing would be used for all of them
Like a dark primary, then a colour feature and bright second feature
Bourdais had a very minimalist black and red scheme for some of the races last year, reminds me of that
I just love it
Looks very penske, i’ll have to see it from more angles to tell if i like it more than the silver from last year
Really cool how they did only the upper side of the wings in red

But I can understand if you don't like it
And some find the high pitched noise uncomfortable
But I find it pretty awesome, it's like a spaceship or something
Nio 333 when it accelerates from zero sounds like a fucking air raid siren lol
Looks pretty cool
do you know what that is used for on f3 cars?
Its an air intake, I believe
ah ok thank you
its a missile launcher
That's the intake manifold, but I assume it's that shape to have an air restrictor but a bigger plenum to restrict power but not like... Just have no air at all
On track are Honda's test rider - and provisional replacement for Marc Marquez, should he not be fit at the start of the season - Stefan Bradl, KTM test rider Dani Pedrosa, and Aprilia's test rider/candidate for a full-time ride, Lorenzo Savadori. As Aprilia are the only factory still with concessions, not yet having scored sufficient podiums to lose their extra testing and development privileges, Aprilia's number one rider Aleix Espargaro is also there, testing the 2021 spec of the Aprilia RS-GP, which includes a new aero package according to the well-informed Italian website GPOne.com
no pics were taken today but wow, savadori testing instead of smith
:newspaper: | S5000 to race at Sandown Supercars round
GIVE ME MORE S5000
Well... Idk, that was a Swift like... Beta car
And who's to say that couldn't be done with the current cars?
Aprillia and Gresini's split is gonna be the impending death of Gresini themselves
not when they have indonesia bankrolling them
it will be the impending death of aprilia
as they deal with their stubbornness on their own
I wonder what could happen to MotoGP if Aprillia left
they lose a manufacturer
not much else
aprilia say they'll choose the between sava and smith at qatar
but smith has been testing with yamaha recently
so like. that's a funny one aprilia
it's sava or nothing
just pick him already. smith dropped out. sava is the reigning italian superbike champion. just do it
I wonder what could happen if Kawasaki or even Ilmor returns to MotoGP

💭 QOTD...
We often look for positives, but we thought we'd switch it up a bit today. What's the most boring race you've ever watched?
You know the drill, any series or championship... ⬇️
like almost every motogp race in 90s
From recent memory, 2020 Belgian Grand Prix
Abu Dhabi 2020
by far
literally nothing of note happened in it aside from Perez DNF'ing due to mechanical issues
and I'm 100% sure I'm not exaggerating because I did watch the whole thing
ok ngl I don't remember Belgium much either
but Abu Dhabi just stood out in that it was just so... static
in terms of races i fully watched i think 78 argentia when the tv broadcast was showing andretti the entire time
I never remembered anything from Spain 2018
I feel like the truly most boring race... No-one remembers
The most boring race in the whole motorsport is the race in Lo--
Caesars palace
Abu Dhabi happened after Belgium ffs
So that's obvious
I can only remember Gasly on Perez at Eau Rouge and that you had to go wide at T1 to enter parc ferme
First time I'd seen that lmao
no more gulf
welcome indonesia
selamat pagi
the moto2 and moto3 liveries
Sean Gelael racing in Asian Le Mans: "I sleep"
A new Indo Moto2 and Moto3 team:
"R E A L S H I T"
Idk why, but it seems Indonesians are only attracted to Motorbike's motorsports than cars lmao
Malaysians as well, I guess
I wonder who would win in a one on one race, Alex Yoong or Rio Haryanto? (even though Yoong is Malaysian)
Mainly because South East Asia's governments/tax rates make owning a car almost impossible
Something like an R8 is ten times as much over there
||not our fault gresini riders were the victim of 2 fatal crashes (Not joking)||
We are ready....... A
AM
I prefer the DHL Andrettis tbh
yesss
Also idk if this is controversial or anything but
My favourite 2020 IndyCar livery is likely Ericssons
The best Penskes
The deep red Hogan-PC25
theres a black markboro penske thats just so incredible
Marlboro Penske = Best Penske
I find Marlboro liveries not as nice as people make it out to be imo
It's iconic and simple but, eh not my favourite
Ooh
how
Penske couldn't qualify for 1995
hmm...
hey DAMS
I was more talking about the normal chevron red and white design, but that one is nice yes
Penske had helped Rahal-Hogan in 1993? 1994? After they had had alot of issues, so in 1995 when Penske didn't recognise a setup foundation issue because they were too OP in 1994, Rahal-Hogan lended both Emmo and Al-Under Jr. the spare Lolas, in which they just put their sponsors on
there you go
THE ANDREA MODA LOLA
wtf
Oh dear lord
he tried indy?
Andrea moda somehow found its way onto an indycar
It's not quite as good as the Foyt Lolas of 1993 doe
how did that go
I was like
"Hey that looks like a Minardi... HOLD ON WHAT IS THAT ANDREA MODA LOGO DOING THERE"
Well they were beaned at F1
...and then Penske didn't run at indy
So they went to Indy where fielding 1 car can be a strat
Lmao
Imagine doing 218's in 1995 PFFFF
It's amazing how Andrea Modas strat was getting one car to work and the other to just... Die
In F1
Perry McCarthy: Joins Andrea Moda
Andrea Sassetti:
sounds like they were chosen for indy
Then again any Andrea Moda car would have a engine failure after a few laps anyway due to cooling issues
Pain
No one wants the Copenhagen Lola smoke
do you have any rare pics of the dick simon cars of 1992
Oh yeah, fun F1 fact: SEGA sponsored BMS in 1992 before Williams in 1993
KING HIRO
What about it?
SEGA sponsored Hiro before Williams
Well they sponsored BMS Scuderia Italia too, that... Nevermind
interestingly it was SEGA of Japan sponsoring him, and SEGA Europe sponsoring Williams
SEGA of Japan would sponsor a motorsport effort one more time in 1998
OnBoard Hiro Matsushita's Pedal-Cam a At Portland '90
Doesn't say anything about the two being related
Right underneath the Lucchini logo
Se what I mean too about the deeper reds compared to the Marlboro Red?
Congrats @marble willow, you're now on lap 5
What about the Lola-Haas cars from 1985-1986?
Tht ain't Sega bruh
Although... Yes
Idk the blue doesn't quite work like with say
Ayo they had Marlb's too
I feel like I tried too hard to fit into this conversation and keep it going
Super Toyota Brothers
what the actual fuck LMAO
“unfair advantage over their fellow amateur racers”
Have some hot OP car goodness
Dat pushrod Mercedes engine
And then Tony George made it worse
fuck the split
25 years ago, it happened.
society if the split didnt happen
"Let's build an all American, all oval series with drivers that not many people know. (Apart from some, like Arie Luyendyk) That sounds good. Oh, and lets use crossplane N/A V8's instead of turbocharged flatplane V8's."
The trigger for him seemed to be the new British-Director of CART
Bruv don't diss the Racing Auroras
Not a fan of crossplane V8 open wheelers.
Plus you say that... Honda's first year was a Cross-Plane, albeit it kinda sucked coz they came in underestmating massively what kinda materials and capability everyone else had
Oh I adore High revving cross-planes
Here it is
As much as the split sucked, I do... Understand its' motivation, tho the execution just sucked
I kinda like them
Bro have you heard S5000? The Lancia D50?
The Yamaha Crossplane I4 does sound like a beast tho
Oh the Yamahas are basically the noise of the Honda 1994 Indy Engine
It's kinda freaky but it makes sense
The D50 is amazing, but S5000... They sound good, but it just doesn't really complement the looks of the S5000 cars tho.
I mean... I let it slide, because they don't have the appeal to make like their own chassis
At least yet
The bits they did change doe?
Sometimes from the front I think the aesthetic kinda works with the chonky nose but it's rare
That render sucks
It skews the proportions
I wish they did a Single exit exhaust like with Formula Renault 3.5 so they'd not only be meaty as balls but they'd scream too
1994 honda arrives in the indycars
james allen
I haven't been able to find something like this
Only oboards and a 500 quali noise
Oh there's very little car noise...
So here's an onboard... IT has the same base note, but the engine sounds alot meaner, this shifting around 11,800
It sounds like a flatplane V8 from the onboard, if you discount the sound from the engine at low revs
Well you'll still have the same... I guess... Root pitch?
Becaause it's 8 cylinders going at the same speed
But like... But the more exhaust stuff like fly-by's will show off like woah now
It makes me wanna hear the Jesel Equal-8...
Is anyone else terrified for the Nashville Indy car race because of the bridge part
Yeah this
What about the bridge?
And this bridge
What about it?
Just the thought scares me
You think someone's gonna do an Ascari at Monaco?
or any crash from the movie, Driven
