The thing is Argentinians, (and to a lesser extent Mexicans), tend to be very, uh, colorful on social media when it comes to being sports fans.

That’s not to say I’m generalizing. As all sports have toxic fans. But there is a sense of machismo that’s a belief where you have free rein to harass and criticize whoever you want, and any attempt to silence that is oppression and anti-Argentinian bias.

Last year there was a fight on the field between the Mexican soccer team and the USMNT. And in the stands there was several stabbings.

I would say yes, but given that the MotoGP paddock is pretty behind the times as far as anything related to pride goes, it should come to no surprise that something like that gets slipped up by a rider. As terrible as it is, hopefully Dorna actually does something about making the paddock more opening and to close out any of these remarks, because they still happen extremely often, if not done by riders, its done by team members.
